Over several days I engaged in 3 conversations with a Cabana salesperson. She recommended their house brand (Matouk) and assured me Matouk was a "best seller" and "Cabana carried nothing but the best". Over subsequent conversations it was clear that the salesperson could not answer basic questions such as "why is Matouk your best seller?" I prompted her to discuss thread counts and cotton types, but she was mostly stumped. She eventually admitted that she never used a Matouk product. I had the impression that she had never used a fine linen product. I eventually found a sell on the Internet with a tremendous amount of knowledge that made me feel safe in my decision. I also felt like I learned something, other than what is the "best seller". I spent 15 minutes on the phone with an expert and made the decision....that was a savings when you consider I got nowhere with Cabana in over an hour of discussions and research. I spent slightly more, approximately $1000, on the Internet than I would have spent at Cabana, but for my 12th anniversary I needed to be 100% certain that I would not be disappointed. I also felt better telling my partner all about the type of cotton, thread count, etc., rather than simply saying "happy anniversary, the Sales person told me it is there best seller".

She took charge and organized my entire walk-in closet, my home office, including the closet in there, and my garage, which was a complete disaster. I can now walk into my walk-in closet (I know, what a concept!), use my stand up desk and walking pad in my office, and walk around my parked car in the garage. Tala Design was one of these spots, an attractive shop selling furniture and curated home goods, as well jewelry and miscellaneous knick knacks. The store was pretty and pleasant to browse, with an easy layout and plenty of handsome merchandise. I wasn't planning to buy anything, but I found a dish of cool rings fashioned from vintage spoons, made by a woman in Ojai. One of them fit just right, and I liked that it was one of a kind. My husband bought it for me for the reasonable price of $37. I gather Tala offers interior design services, and the shop serves as a showroom as well as a retail store. I wasn't looking for that, but the place was certainly good advertising for design work. Check it out if you're walking around downtown Ojai. You might even find something to take home.

We ended up finding one at one of the big box stores but the cost was way out of our budget. We then came across GRW, met Garrett, he was very personable and we showed him what we found at the big box store and asked him if he could find the same for us. The next day Garrett emailed us and he was able to get the exact same love seat we needed at a "much lower cost". From the time it was ordered to the time it was in our house was only 6 days.
