I found Alicia Paley Home Interiors by googling interiors designers in Ventura county…read more I'm so happy I found Alicia. I had quite a few choices as there are lots of designers with in our county, I couldn't be more pleased to have had the opportunity of working with Alicia. What draw me to choosing Alicia Paley amongst all others was her kitchen cover photo. I absolutely loved how she had redesigned this kitchen. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for but there was some similarities and I though this interior designer is exactly who I need. I had most of my vendors and suppliers, I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted but I was in desperat need of some guidance. Im a little OCD and I need everything to be a little more uniform eg:"who wants to matche there floor to there counter tops, I do lol". With this said Alicia's guidance was much needed... From the moment Alicia walked in and we discussed the handles for my kitchen cabinets, I knew I had made the right decision by hiring her expertise. Alicia's insight on colour coordination to floor quality and everything in between was exceptional. She really helped put my mind at ease, as you all know renovations can become quite expensive and it is sometimes hard to colour coordinate everything or match everything. "Could you imagine spending all this money and not liking it in the end, I definitely couldn't afford taking that risk. " Alicia's recommendation for vendors also help me save money which is always wonderful. She also had more affordable suggestions for some of the Items that I truly wanted but really wouldn't have been able to afford in retail or custom stores. I choose Alicia's "work with me" package which was a tremendous help. I will definitely be asking for her services again once the renovations are complete to help me with furniture and decorating ideas. If you are looking for a wonderful interior designer/decorator I would strongly suggest hiring Alicia Paley Home interiors she truly is a gem . You won't regret it. Thank you so much Alicia

I cannot say enough good things about Michelle and her team at 805 interiors…read more We had never gone through a design process like this before, but we needed help with our living room, kitchen, entry way, and lounge area which were all painfully bare and empty. We knew what aesthetic was pleasing to us, but it can be hard to articulate these things and make them a reality. Michelle meticulously worked with us, sorting through example images and mood boards, to understand what we hoped to create in our home. She knocked it out of the park, creating multiple design options for each room. We chose the option we liked most for each room. We loved working with her team so much, we brought them back for a second round to design our child's playroom. I come home every day feeling blown away by how beautiful our home is. It is our sanctuary. No other space in the world compares. I want to compliment her and her team on a few things: - They are incredibly patient with listening to your feedback and ideas. They have a great deal of experience and therefore offer design ideas or source pieces you would never think of. Through this process, a beautiful expression of what you're hoping for in your home is created. - They are utmost professionals with logistics. On install day, there is not a thing to worry about. You will leave for work and come home to a completely transformed space - installed chandeliers, beautiful high-quality furniture, hand-chosen accessories such as books and vases, expertly applied wallpaper, and fresh flowers. A beautiful finished product with not a cardboard box or screw driver in sight. - They are flexible and adaptive to cost restraints. On our second project with them (the playroom for our son), we were not as interested in high end furniture pieces because this was more a space for our child to be rambunctious in. Keeping these goals in mind, they still created a gorgeous space and the perfect play room for our little boy. If you're having any hesitation or second thoughts about hiring this team, do not think twice! I don't have a single complaint or negative thing to say. They are wonderful, kind, creative, adaptive, and most importantly get the job done well.

I'll start with this: Hire Eileen Gould Design and Construction for all your remodeling projects…read more Years ago I saw Eileen win 2 episodes of the now long gone "Designer's Challenge" on HGTV and noted her contact information. She was local and most importantly a designer AND a contractor. I was pretty sure that would make the remodeling process pretty seamless. I was right. I, like everyone else, have heard the horror stories about contractors. No horror here! Just a professional and reliable experience. Friendly to boot! I told Eileen upfront, prior to hiring her, that I'm both very picky and want to be involved in the design. She pleasantly accepted all my feedback, changes, and sometimes issues. Eileen and her project manager, Kathy, were on top of things during my recent bathroom remodel. She and Kathy answered all of my many questions and were patient when I expressed some frustration. I will say that what made me the happiest was the communication as to when the sub-contractors would be arriving AND that either Eileen or Kathy would be there at the same time to ensure everything was on track. I was picky: pointing out some issues that were addressed immediately. Now that's good customer service. Krisie from Eileen's office was a delight to deal with and very professional. I'm so enjoying my newly remodeled bathroom and have been told it looks like a high end hotel bathroom and that it does! Thank you Eileen, Kathy, Krisie, and all the sub-contractors!

From day one until the end, Eileen was available, supportive, honest, patient, and fair. I had lots of questions along the way and Eileen was always very responsive, even on weekends. When I told my friends what we were looking to do to our home and that we hired a contractor, the reaction they had was that their experience with remodeling was a nightmare. Well, they didn't know Eileen. This was the no-stress express. She handled EVERYTHING. This was completely stress-free for us. She hired all of the people and they were all amazing craftsmen, super nice and always accommodating. If, on rare occasion, we weren't happy with something, they came back right away and fixed the problem to our specifications. There were a few times when I needed a fixture or an item and I didn't want to go to the store to pick it out myself, so I said to Eileen, you pick it out, I trust your taste. I was never disappointed! She has excellent taste. With respect to price, if not for the things WE decided to add along the way and a few things that needed to be addressed that either weren't up to code in our home, or something that needed to be fixed, our project came in very close to budget. No issues there at all. If you or know someone who is looking for a contractor to work on their home, look no further than Eileen Gould. You won't be sorry.

However, with a toddler and a baby on the way, we knew it was unrealistic. Melissa was such a pleasure to work with. She was responsive and very accommodating to our schedule. Coming from design backgrounds and based in Oak Park where most renovated homes lean heavily…read moreWestern, my wife and I were initially doubtful that anyone could pull off what we envisioned: an Organic Modern Asian aesthetic fused with Scandinavian calm, accented by our own art pieces. JRP removed all doubt. They first built our kitchen, which people often say looks like something straight out of a Japanese Michelin restaurant. A year later, we brought them back to rebuild the rest of our home including bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, family room, and backyard patio. We received every detail both JRP and I could think of, including things most people skip over like kerfed door jambs, mudded in vents, and trimless smoke detectors, and JRP delivered flawlessly. The result is beyond what we hoped for and honestly a bit inconvenient now because everyone keeps telling us to submit our home to Architectural Digest :) We are immensely thankful to the entire JRP team for their craftsmanship, patience, and commitment to making our vision a reality. I've recommended JRP to everyone who has asked and will continue to do so without hesitation.

We recently completed a full kitchen remodel with JRP, and we couldn't be more pleased. There are…read morea lot of things that we loved about JRP (and the people that we worked with), but I'll focus on a few highlights: Design Process: Our success started with the design. We spent a few months working with one of their designers, Danni Krueger. After we provided Danni with our ideas and inspiration photos, she created two different design options for us to consider. Her designs not only dramatically improved our kitchen's functionality (e.g., adding a lot more storage and counter space), they also were aesthetically beautiful. She recommended many things that we could never have come up with on our own. Danni is also super personable and easy to work with. Planning/schedule: Have you ever been frustrated about contractors starting a project and then having long periods of time where nothing seems to happen and your project grinds to a halt? That was the opposite of our experience. At the outset of our project, JRP provided a detailed schedule that we could follow on an app (Buildertrend). They had someone doing some sort of work nearly every day, so it always felt that we were moving the ball forward. They provided us daily updates (with pictures) to share what they had done that day and what they planned to do the next. Occasionally, when there was a necessary schedule change, they promptly communicated it along with the reason. Team: Day-to-day, we dealt mostly with Grant Walker (Project Manager) and Regin Wilson (Superintendent). At least one of them showed up every day to give direction and make sure the work was getting done right. These are highly professional, solid guys, and we completely trusted them with our home. If something wasn't done right (which invariably happens in every large project), they were usually the ones to identify it and make sure it was properly fixed. No arguments, and no headaches or stressful conversations that you might be used to having with a contractor. JRP seems to understand that this is the last thing you want to deal with. It's so refreshing. Finished Kitchen: Finally, we couldn't be happier with the final product. Our kitchen is amazing, and everyone who has seen it has been highly impressed. We plan to stay in our house for a while, and our new kitchen will make that time much more enjoyable. *** We have done several remodeling projects over the years, and we've worked with numerous contractors. We have never dealt with a better company than JRP. They might seem a bit pricier than some of their competitors, but that doesn't mean they are more expensive. That's because you are paying not only for the quality, but also for their professionalism and for your peace of mind. JRP is a one-stop shop, and they really delivered. We couldn't be happier with JRP.

There was nothing in this arena that would work in the space, because the ceilings are high and the opening wide. I walked into the shop on Thousand Oaks Blvd and knew they could achieve the elegant look I wanted. This was a few years ago. I had Dreamhouse reupholster my sofa and some guest chairs and they turned out just fine so I asked…read morethem to rebuild the seats in a couple of leather lounge chairs I have because they were sinking down too far when anybody sat on them. When the chairs were returned, they seats were much better EXCEPT they were striped! The backs of the chairs had been folded down and then the chairs were obviously left where they were exposed to sunlight which bleached out the leather and left stripes. I called Farzi and sent her pictures and she agreed to repair them. Dreamhouse picked up the chairs on Sept 10th so they could try and match the replacement leather on the seat cushions to what was on the back cushions and ottoman (which they did not work on). After nearly 6 WEEKS, they finally admitted that they couldn't match the leather. (This was after I had called repeatedly to get status and had been told that the chairs were going to be delivered but the delivery people were either out on vacation or too busy...that went on for a couple of weeks.) Since I knew where the leather had originally been purchased, I met the upholsterer in Downtown Los Angeles so we could get as close as possible to the existing leather. At that point I was told that Dreamhouse was ONLY going to reupholster the seats and the not the back cushions or ottoman. I agreed ONLY if it was not immediately obvious that the seats were different than the back cushions or ottoman. After all, everything had originally matched. When the chairs were finally returned, another week and a half later, the backs looked OK but the ottoman just did not match anymore. I told Dreamhouse I was willing to live with the backs but not the ottoman. I asked if there was any leftover leather from the hide that was purchased but nobody could give me an answer. Finally, to facilitate the process, I offered to drive the ottoman to Dreamhouse (26 miles away each way) and contribute $100.00 towards the replacement leather since I thought they would have to buy another hide ($200.00). Farzi countered at $150.00 (what?) and, again, to facilitate the repair, I agreed to $125.00. I was offering because I thought she would have to buy another hide and I felt bad for the upholsterer even though he caused this problem in the first place. Today, I picked up the ottoman (another 26 miles each way) and was told they were only going to charge me $75.00 because there was enough leather left over from the original hide and they did not need to purchase any more. WHAT?!? None of this fiasco was my fault but I paid the $75.00 because I did not want to argue with Farzi in front of other people in her shop and I just wanted to be done with this nightmare which had now been going on for 10 weeks!

I first had to find, what once was Eastern Furniture, no longer in the Bay Area, and found they had relocated to Agoura Hills, Ca., asked if they could locate the specs sheet from the furniture that was built in the past, which they did, and proceeded to have a Custom Couch and Recliner, built by Hancock and Moore, with a Protected leather, I have 3 big dogs, in a Tobacco color. This took several months, which I knew was the case. I also purchased 2 other Hancock and Moore, Custom Adirondack Leather Chairs for my sitting area in my dining room. I worked with Martine, a designer who works for the company, she was AWESOME. She asked me to send her pictures of the areas and measurements of what I wanted to change in my living room and dining room. Martine photo-shopped the furniture into those rooms. Great job, giving me a view to a room, with the furniture. We took a few months, deciding which leather to use in the living room. After that, it was just waiting for the custom furniture to be built by Hancock and Moore. The delivery team was awesome, moving our couch and side chairs to make way for the new furniture.
