Great-tasting authentic Mexican food!…read more I had two tacos and some pinto beans. (under $10) The tortillas tasted homemade and had that slightly grill, char taste to them. The chicken was ground up into small, crispy bites. The topping was like a pico de gallo without tomatoes and the hot sauce that came with them was absolutely perfect, spicy but not too hot. I love spicy but I think for most people the spice level would be just right. At some point soon I'll try the tamales...they have a fairly large menu with meat and seafood dishes. It was very noisy inside because a soccer game was on and it's Father's Day today but there's lots of outside seating and even though it was hot, it was still a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended! These tacos were better than some I've had at beach-side restaurants in San Diego.

It's a very cute restaurant. However, my best friend and I went to Chido Taco earlier and the food was not nearly as good as it used to be and tasted a lot less flavorful. Also I know I am maybe the last person to be talking about a restaurants music because I don't have amazing music taste but everytime before when I used to go the music was amazing and introduced me to so many different hispanic artists but when we went today it was all songs that you'd hear in a club. The restaurant is great I recommend going but I'm wondering if maybe Chido went under new management?

We ordered two taco platters, loaded with an incredible lineup: Cachete -- Pork Cheek Barbacoa -- Braised Beef Carnitas -- Pork Buche -- Pork Stomach Chorizo -- Mexican Sausage Lengua -- Beef Tongue Both platters came with rice and beans, and everything was packed with authentic flavor. The lengua was exactly what I was looking for--tender, flavorful, and absolutely worth the search. The cachete and barbacoa were equally impressive, while the carnitas, buche, and chorizo rounded out an outstanding taco lineup. And of course, a large horchata to complete the experience. Esmeralda Grill delivers the kind of Mexican food that makes you stop and appreciate every bite. Authentic flavors, generous portions, and a menu that gives you plenty of reasons to come back. Definitely one of the best Mexican joints in Cary--and easily my favorite find in town. 5 stars without hesitation.

This place is frequented by construction and other blue color workers, so you know it's gotta be bussin for the value. I ordered a variety of different tacos; pollo, asada, Al pastor, lingua and loroco pupusa. The chicken is very bland, the safe option for people with low spice tolerance. The other meats have decent flavor but tend to be on the dry and chewy side. The pupusas are lovely and I always enjoy watching them assemble and fry on the griddle. The cortido is a nice crunch and if you want other options, they have a salsa bar to tack on more. The staff speak Spanish and will try to explain what an item is, but it's best to study before hand. They're really nice and patient and will try to describe something if you didn't prepare ;) Easy lunch and quick dinner option.
