I am DeafBlind. I asked them to make sure they put on extra coats to prevent them from chipping before my trip 9/2-9/13. The woman did not do a great job. A couple of nails started chipping less than FIVE hours later! A few more have started to chip since then. This is not the first time this has happened to me from this business. I think your experience here depends on who you get. The owner seems pleasant, willing to help, and I have never had an issue with her. The first time I came I had Monica and I wish I stuck with her every time. I got a full set and she was really detailed in her work. The last time I went, I had an older lady who seemed to be in a rush so she could get more clients because she kept looking at the pedicure stations. I would make an appointment with Monica or Nancy because they both are really friendly and they do great work! Not exactly a fancy place, but they give you a small bottle of water with some candy or chocolate, which I appreciate. Very disrespectful people working here, my mom & aunt got their nails done at this place and they did the complete opposite to what they asked, manager was very VERY RUDE when I told her my mom wanted to get her nails fixed, she pays the same money everyone pays at this place and if customer isn't happy they need to do something about it but they obviously took the money and didn't care about customers opinion. I was in this place for 4 hours!!!!!! I came in to get a pedicure & full set. Nothing fancy. I sat in the pedicure chair soaking my feet for an hour! The water got cold and I had to have the water drained and then more water added...still sat for another 30 minutes in the water. After I received my pedicure finally..:we then moved to the full set which took her 2 hours to do. I was so annoyed. When it was time for me to pay I asked for a discount for the long wait. They refused. I continued to complain and left with them deducting only $5! It cost me $73 for both services. I did not get anything fancy but a single polish and glitter, no designs, no fancy nail shape. My normal place it has always been $50 and I'm in & out in 1.5. I come from MD to VA to Hollywood Nails. Amy started doing my nails 6yrs ago when I lived in VA. She was at a different location that was close to my job. She was amazing day 1. Since then she's opened her own location and I've relocated. It has been a nightmare trying to find someone remotely close to her work...not to mention her attitude is the same every time I see her. She really cares about her business and her customers satisfactory. My nails lasts at least 3weeks..and I emphasize "least". I've been in DMV area for 4yrs now (tried almost every nail salon in the area to save time, drive and gas) but I will continue to drive to Richmond once a month to get my nails and feet done. Unsatisfied client: The salon owner did my nails and pedicures. She gets very defensive, do not apologize and do nothing to fix the situation. She does not connect well with her clients. There was little rapport, and she never tried to establish a good rapport between the two of us. I understand that we've going to have our good and bad days, however, she never ever had a smile on her face nor in her voice when talking to her on the phone. If you complain, its taken the wrong way. Don't ever be late you will be blame for what happened, instead of she saying thank you for telling me what happened, then apologize. read more

They didn't do a good job with the wax leaving hairs they could have gotten with tweezers if they wanted to spend an extra two minutes. They cut corners on both the mani & pedi (no massage, lotion or buffing) Did a crappy job with the edging on a french manicure AND half the polish chipped off the next day!! I have to strongly dispute Kristen S.'s review saying Hollywood Nails at 9039 West Broad Street is "a dirty place." NOTHING could be further from the truth!! I am a regular customer visiting the salon at least twice a month for close to two years, and NEVER have I EVER seen this place dirty or unkempt! NEVER! I wouldn't patronize a dirty establishment. Perhaps Kristen S. is referring to another Hollywood Nails because this place is spotless. (There are two other unrelated Hollywood Nail salons -- one in Chesterfield and the other on Brook Road.) I challenge Kristen S. or anyone to walk in there at anytime and you will see for yourself ... there is nothing at all dirty about this place. Cookie Cutter salon must say I asked to stiletto nails and clearly showed the lady a picture twice. Still got plain acrylic nails which I would have never paid for If I knew. They can't do anything cool with your nails ether so don't both asking. Probably a great place for a pedicure. FYI the people doing my nails switched 4 times prolly why I didn't get what I wanted. Also they told me $20 when I walked i paid $40. So in case your wondering this is "one of those salons" that has no set prices makes their own. The place gives off a very unclean feel. Broken down. I went for a pedicure and the lady stopped half way through taking the polish off of my toes to go "fix" the nail of someone who walked in after I was getting serviced. The "quick fix" turned into me waiting for over 30 minutes for anyone to return to get the rest of the nail polish off of my toes so that I could START my pedicure. I just say there. Clearly annoyed, while the rest of the staff didn't even acknowledge me or see if I needed any help. There were at least three or four employees sitting or hanging out in the back, eating and watching TV. While I just sat there. Finally after waiting for over 30 minutes the nail lady brings me a bottle of water and takes off the rest of my polish and fills the bowl with water. She then rushes and does my pedicure and I have to ask her specifically to remove the dead skin from my feet. ISN'T THAT THE POINT OF A PEDICURE?? The wait was NOT worth it. The paint job is decent but she charged me way too much and I had to go home and exfoliate my own feet. read more

SHe does evrything nails, manicures, pedicures, eyelashes, and eyebrows. I always get complements on everythign she does for me. Everyone asks where do you get your eyebrows done. I have been using this salon since 2013 when it changed ownership. It is very clean, up to date. I have never had a bad manicure or pedicure here. The pedicures are awesome, they have hot stones and do a great leg and foot massage. I have Gel nails and Gel polish. Great colors and designs. I came here due to the fact that the nail salons in my area suck and my bf goes to a hair cutting place in same shopping center and upon research found this place had good reviews. The quality of there work is great i was happy with the finished product however- I'm not sure if maybe the woman who did my nails just didn't understand good English but I told her about 5 times I wanted snowflakes on all my nails and even asked for the price multiple times to have snowflakes on all my nails plus the service that i needed done- i went in for a filling and she told me the nails i had were old and needed to be change in which i said okay no problem and once again asked her for the price in all with snowflakes on all my nails - a filling was 15- snow flake on all nails was an extra 10, when i asked her how much to remove and change the nails with snowflakes on all nails she said 35$. I paid the 35$.. upon doing my nails she asked if i wanted short or long and i said in between not to short and not too long and i said i would show her as she did my nails- usually when i get tips done they ask me how long and proceed to cut to the length- this woman decided to put acrylic on my real nails which was way to short which i told her after the 4th nail- every nail salon is different and has their own way of doing things as i let her continue her job and mention it was too short and she did a good job on fixing them and making them the length i originally wanted- after about 1 hr and 45mins she finished the job and proceeded to putting my snowflake design on HOWEVER- she put only two snowflakes (one on each hand and i was so frustrated for the fact that she either did not listen to me or didnt understand and didnt bother to mention anything and from the start started doing my nails wrong AND for the fact i was there for almost 2 hrs i just let her finish the top coating and left...
