DON'T GO to this place! DON'T WASTE your money. I had dip manicure on 12/28/25 with Mia. The next day the top coat already peeling off. I called the next day and they said they'll fix it. After 3 days it started peeling off again including the dip. Hannah, the owner, wants to see my nail, I went there just now and Hannah said that I have to pay to redo it, it's not even 3 weeks (15 days) and I have to pay half price ($30.00). This place is ridiculous and not a good place to have your nails done. They ruin and messed up my nails, they break my nails because they're using a low quality nail products and makes you go there every 2 weeks instead of 3-4 weeks for fill-in. I WILL NOT GO BACK THERE ANYMORE. Place sucks. read more

I had a really disappointing experience. I do not get my nails done often, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but this visit was far from professional. First off, the overall vibe of the shop is kind of depressing. I was getting a gel manicure which I thought would be $35, hard to tell though with the ghetto hand-edited menu (that should have been my first clue), and powder polish removal tacked on for $5. Clue #2, The towel she gave me to rest my hands on was visibly dirty. I asked for a fresh towel, and she told me it would be provided after the polish removal. I ended up suspending my hands in the air to avoid touching the towel. The technician removed my powder polish with cuticle clippers, ripping it off instead of soaking it off as I've experienced at other salons. I said "ouch" several times because it hurt, but she just casually responded, "It's going to hurt." I thought this was totally unnecessary and unprofessional. I was over it at this point and told her not to bother with the polish after all. When I went to pay $5 (w/ no tip) using my credit card, I was asked for cash or to send payment via Venmo or something, as the technician seemed desperate to avoid the what? $.03 fee the business would incur from using a credit card. I paid with my credit card and rolled out. Why have credit cards included as a form of payment in the window but pressure customers not to use it? This place is SO unprofessional, stupid, and, honestly, kind of sketchy. I will never be returning to Creative Nails and Spa and would not recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of better, more professional nail salons in the area - even within walking distance! read more

Very slowwwww service and it wasn't particularly busy. Just a handful of clients. I only went this one time. I won't be back. I didn't have to wait long, and my nail technician was sweet and polite, but she was so painfully slowwww.... And she wasn't super good at her job. Her skills were marginal at best. It took 2 hours for a gel manicure. Two hours!! That's crazy. The service elements were lacking too... No cuticle softener was used on my nails, the Emory boards and buffing pads were not new, nor was there any real attempt at a hand massage at the end -- except for about 15 seconds. I also didn't like that there was no attempt to show that the tools were sanitized per client. Perhaps they are, I wouldn't know, but you'd never know because they don't show you. In the salons I've gone to previously they would bring out fresh tools in sterilized bags and open them in front of you. This salon was a disappointment. My advice is to go elsewhere. read more

I went to this salon to get my feet and nails done today. I really enjoyed getting my feet done, the young lady was so pleasant and she did a GREAT JOB! After that I was told to sit at the 5th seat in the first row near the nail polishes on the wall across from the drying station. I explained to the young lady what color and shape nails I wanted she continued to ask if I wanted my eyelashes, and eyebrows done. I repeatedly told her no I'm good. She then asked if I wanted nails cut down I said no. I am getting the same thing done to my nails as the last visit(in January which was with someone else) just a change of color. So I ask out of curiosity how much? And I asked her this because I sat in her chair in December and she ran my tab up. She gave me a price $11 more than last time, so I proceed to ask why she was like my nail were lifting. As she's doing my nails I can tell she had an attitude, she started pointing to the dryer as if she's telling me to place my hand under the light. Then she pushed my hand to the side roughly. I sat there and all I can think is this lil woman sitting here upset because I won't allow her to run up my tab and I'm questioning why the price is higher. than the last visit. She was so rude she didn't say thank you or nothing! I am glad she did what she did and I Won't ever sit in her chair again. She need to know if it wasn't for the customers coming there she wouldn't have a job. That tip that I was eager to give was kept right in my pocket!! Ms. Girl DID NOT DESERVE IT! I saw Creative Nails as I went to a Trader Joe's the other day and decided to give it a try based on the other reviews. I walked in mid day on a Wednesday to ask about making an appointment and was pleasantly surprised they were able to take me right away. The salon is very clean and relaxing. There is no stressful chatter amongst other clients and staff and chairs are spaced apart and not so crowded. The equipment is in excellent condition and they practice all safety protocols. I went to this nail salon because of a recommendation but unfortunately I did not have a positive experience . The lady who gave me a manicure tried to take the dip polish off my nails by ripping it off and when I told her that hurt she got crappy with me. When she went to soak my nails like she should have done she was very irritated that it would now take 15 minutes for it to soak off. She also did not clean up around my nail bed and it was one of the worst manicures I've ever had. I will not go back and do not recommend this shop. read more

I have been getting SNS on my nails for over two years. I was down in Richmond for a wedding and decided to stop in here to get my nails done after a quick call with them. I regret that decision immensely. Within one coat I was already asking questions and assured over and over again "they would turn out ok but I needed to just wait." I honestly should have just left at that point. My nails are significantly shorter than they've ever been, and each finger is CUT from over filing. It is the sloppiest sns job I've ever had with no nail close to even/ smooth and each is visibly lumpy. To add to it, they are super thick and parts are discolored. Also, they decided to put a gel top coat on my nails which defeats the purpose of no UV with sns. The price was good at only $35 but not worth it. If you want an authentic SNS experience that doesn't leave you in pain I recommend finding another place. read more

Let me start with this is my first review. I just left there!!! One of the WORST manicure and French application I have EVER had. Maybe less energy should be used attempting to encourage customers to apply gel polish and more focus on the basics. My tips are at least 1/4-2/3 thick. We recently moved to Richmond and I have tried several nail salons and now I have found my place. May(not sure on spelling of her name) is amazing. She is so nice and very gentle on your nails. I have very thin nails and have been using he dip powder until last night. She introduced me to a gel not the typical gel polish but this gel dries with heat and hardens like a dip powder. Can we just say I'm in love with the way my nails look. She said since I want them to last longer these should last 3 weeks or more. I was in Short Pump running errands when I felt the sudden urge to get a gel manicure. I deferred to Yelp to help me find a suitable option and Creative looked like the best fit. Once I arrived I was happy to find there was no wait and the nail tech quickly ushered me to the color wall. I'm partial to OPI, and although there was not as many OPI colors as I'd like, they had plenty of Essie options if that's your thing. The woman who did my manicure was awesome and my nails looked amazing! She shaped them into a perfect pointy oval upon my request and the color application was beautifully done. One of the best manicures I've had in Richmond! Unfortunately the location is a bit of a hike for me, so I may not become a regular anytime soon, but I will definitely be back the next time I'm looking to get my nails done in the West End. read more

Stay away!! I recently got an 'SNS' manicure here, I assure you it was not truly an SNS mani. I was in town visiting and needed a manicure. After calling to confirm they in fact did do SNS manis, I decided to give it a shot. There was never a base cover applied to my nails and they put a gel top coat on my nails instead of the proper top coat. Two of my nails literally cracked the next day (regular manicure lasts longer than a day!) and the next day, one of my nails chipped. Needless to say this experience was frustrating. I just had this 'SNS' mani removed and my nails are completed ruined. They look as if someone ripped acrylics off my nails! :( The people at my normal nail salon were shocked to see what had happened. read more

This place lacks customer service on every level. We made an appt only to sit for 15 minutes after it in the pedicure chairs with no water. When we asked them to turn it on so we could soak the lady yelled "wait a minute"....which turned out to be another 30. No friendly "we'll be right with you" or "sorry we are running behind". We've come every 2 weeks for the last month and a half (4 of us) & purchased deluxe mani pedis. Since we just moved to the area and we're excited to find a place only to be disappointed today. This place is awful. I went in before Christmas and got SNS done. I tried to ask to mix colors but the lady just looked at me and didn't do anything about it. The man then took over and explained to me that the color looked different on my nails because it was my "natural nail" After barely a week, my nails were bubbly, chipping and looked awful. I called and was told that I could come in no problem. When I went in to fix it, the lady who did my nails complained and was rude to me. She told me I should have told the nail technician to stop and that I didn't like the color which I did but was then given a ridiculous excuse. She then told me that it wasn't her fault my nails grew the way they did and that it was a waste of her time. I'm happier with the color but my nails are now bumpy and I still had to use the UV light which defeats the purpose. I'm scared to see what my nails will look like when I take them off.
