I like getting pedicures here. They are clean and I always go home happy with my service.

I haven't been here in awhile - but with the weather getting nice again I decided to stop for a pedicure. No appointment, unfortunately, but that didn't stop them from squeezing me in with a very short wait. My receipt says Kevin T helped me - and honestly if you are reading this Kevin, I WILL BE BACK FOR YOU! This was the best pedicure I've had in such a long time. Always made sure everything was okay & I liked everything he was doing. He was very gentle with my toes (as most pedicures I have had are always very rough), and his massage was UNBELIEVABLE, it felt SO GOOD. Finally convinced my sister to come get a pedicure here with me. Unfortunately we won't be back. This lady (KIM) was doing someone else's nails (maybe soaking them). She got up and went to pedi tub. Took the liner out and washed her dirty feet in it. Put the same liner back (yeah she didn't technically use it, but she didn't wash her hands either after touching her feet) and then goes back to the lady who couldn't see her washing her feet around the wall she was behind. I'm sorry but that's not sanitary to be touching her shoes and dirty feet and not wash her hands or clean out the tub/liner. We asked for her name so we can let owner know about what she did. So even though I love Johnny doing my pedicure; I don't have confidence that there tubs/liners are sanitized properly. read more

So never had an issue with a pedicure before but this time not sure what happened but the jets shot water all at me causing my pants to be soaked. I guess I had no idea how bad until I got up after and to pay and it was all in the back looking like I pissed my pants. And when I go to pay nothing I should have at least had some kind of discount. I needed to go to the store afterwards but now need to go home home to change just so I don't look like I pissed my pants. Well never again. Last time, you inconvenience me and I don't bitch or complain and the least you could have done was take $10 off. What ever, my fault should have stuck with my regular place. read more

Was asked several times while getting my nails done when I was going to pay..very unprofessional

I sent my 15 yo daughter into Hollywood nails in huntley to get old nails removed and new set of tips. My daughter first asked to get the old set soaked off - the tech said no this is faster and plied them off. Her finger were bleeding and she said it really hurt. Daughter asked me to come over and by this time I got there the tech had already glued new tips on and I could see smeared blood under them! I ask her what in the world she was doing putting glue and tips on an open wound - she said "it not bleeding any more" not true! I had them soak the nails off - which stung like crazy for my daughter but I thought nesporin and Band-Aids to prevent an infection was smarter than plastic and glue over the wounds. Van is a good tech there and I asked for daughter to have her provide the service. They gave her another tech - I am sorry I don't have her name but she sat on the right as you walk in all the way down by the sink. Be careful going there or anywhere - make sure to know your tech! Been having my nails done for 35 years never once has something like this happen before! read more

Made appointments for 2:30 - a pedicure for me and a mani for my child. They took me back for mine and filled up the tub with water but not enough. When they turned on the jets, I got soaked as water sprayed everywhere. Then they didn't have my nail color. It took them until 3:10 to take my daughter back for her appointment. Instead of us both getting services done at the same time I needed to wait for her to be done which threw off my afternoon. read more

I've been coming to Hollywood for over 5 years. I had the same nail tech all this time and now new owners took over and all their veteran staff is gone because of this. It has been the worst experience with terrible customer service. I never had issues with my nails until now where every nail (I use dip) has broken off within one week when it would last 3-4 weeks with no issues. I noticed their products changed as well so this may be the cause of nail breakage. Hopefully it turns around but does not seem this way as I gave it two tries with their changes. read more

I was over at the Starbucks next door and visited with friends when my acrylic nails started to chip away (they were almost 4 weeks out.) I came in on a Monday night and got a full new set. The next day my pinky acrylic popped off in one piece. By Wednesday evening all but 2 had popped off like those plastic kid nails. I went in on Thursday and showed them my handful of nails. I was being as nice as I could as I felt really bad because the nail tech who did them was SUPER nice and I didn't want to get him in trouble- I asked for a refund or for them to fix it. The woman I spoke to immediately got hostile and said they didn't do refunds but would fix it but that "my nails just aren't good for acrylic nails" and it's because I "picked at them" and "broke them off". She told me to make an appointment to get them fixed so I did for an hour later. I came back at my appointment time and I sat down in her chair. She yelled at me to get up and go sit over in the waiting area and that I'd have wait for a while. I complied and waited. While I waited, she and other workers stood around me speaking in another language, as they all stared at me. 15 Mina later the same nail tech that did my original set snapped at me and told me to sit in front of his station--- very unfriendly unlike the last time. He was extremely rude and rough while handling my hands and nails. The other workers continued to watch me from their stations as they spoke in their language. This salon has a policy where THEY get your nail color after you have selected it from their samples. When it came time for polish he told me to "go find it yourself". Overall shocked at their lack of customer service. I was willing to look past the need to fix my nails, but their horrible attitudes towards me was a nail in the coffin. Would not recommend this place. I was trying it out while I was stuck at that strip mall, but will continue to use my old salon (Lotus on Huntley Rd.) from here on out. read more

I have been a client for 2 years and I've been treated like crap since the old owners Hollywood Nails. They're dirty an thinking we don't know what they're saying they don't want to take care of you if you tell them what you like and what you don't like they think you're complaining I got news for them they're getting paid for a service but they don't let you tell them anything they think they know all of it just because they said they went to school . My nails have turned out like crap I no longer want to even associate with that company anymore. Most of the girls who used to work for Gina have left and actually bought their own company I welcome you to try it I loved it Golden Nail in Huntley Illinois . I walked in and was immediately welcome speaking English laughing and having lots of fun relaxed their equipment is by far brand new and gorgeous clean and kept up . ... The worst pedi I have ever gotten. last night went in at 530p and the lady did not want to be there maybe I stopped Her from going home early. Did not speak to me the entire time. Spoke to co workers in their language only. did not smooth my dry heels, I wish I would have said something but it's just not me to complain. Will Never go back read more

All I can say is very poor customer service and unfortunately a couple of the technicians need way more training, not consistent at all! Tried more than a few times to give them chance but this was the last time!! My advice, there are many nail salons choose elsewhere!! read more

I won't be returning!!! Well to start off, I probably should have walked away when I got to station number 4 and it was filthy! But I gave her the benefit of the doubt since they were busy. I got a full set done. Some nails look okay. My thumb isn't straight and my pointer looks like it's pointing a whole other direction... I asked her to fix it and all I got was attitude. I originally asked for gold added to all nails and finish matte. She decided to only do one nail and it looks like a preschoolers art project... paint on my skin, chunks of gel under my nails, and chunks of dust got into my polish from her fan, and left my corners super sharp after I asked for rounded. I will never be returning to this location. I'm sure some other ladies are fantastic but this bad apple ruined it for me. read more

Had been getting my eyelashes done here and it was lovely at first... but recently its been terrible. To start off I made an appointment and waited an hour after my appointment time to even get into the chair. Then, after getting my lashes on, after 12 hours one eye had completely came off (I did nothing out of the norm) then I had called and spoke to a man that said they would fix them for free for me. Then I spoke to the woman who does lashes and she said I'll have to pay 50% because she does not guarantee they will stay on. She rushed through them and added WAY to much glue, she also stabbed my in the eye with tweezers. Since she rushed through them and wanted to just get me out of the way I ended up with eye infections because of it. This woman should not be doing eyelashes. I will never come back. read more

Horrible service. It doesn't matter if you have an appointment. Plan on waiting. My friend had an appointment at 2:00 for a no-chip manicure. They wrapped her nails in polish remover and tinfoil pretty much right away. She sat there until 2:30 with nails wrapped waiting for someone to work on her nails. The lady was with her for one minute then had to go to the register to check a client out. Waited this time for only two minutes until someone else came to finish. This is not the first time this has happened. She makes an appointment for every other week, and every time we have to wait!!!!!! Also, her no-chip does not last the two weeks. There's always a nail or two that chip. It's now 2:50, and they are just now polishing her nails from a 2:00 appointment. Ridiculous! read more

What is it with the nail salons in Huntley. I called at 1030am and asked if I could get a pedicure at 130pm. She said yes, I got there at 125 and had to wait 30 minutes before they even put my feet in the water. Then she's flying through the pedicure, it took her 20 minutes from start to finish. She never asked what kind of pedicure I wanted. When I asked why, she said I assumed you were in a hurry. All I want is to be taken close to my appointment time and get a good, relaxing pedicure. read more

Don't bother making an appointment! They write your name in the book, but they don't assign you a nail tech. When you tell them you have an appt, they say you have to wait for the first available tech which takes 20-30 minutes. Why take appointments if you aren't going to honor them? They also rush every service so that they can make more money. Not worth the wait or the $$! I now go to Leann nails, where they actually tell walk-ins either to wait or come back later when they cannot fit it in before an already scheduled appointment. read more

Honestly, they did a good job on my acrylics. However, when the guy sat down to do my nails, I didn't realize he thought I was only getting a regular manicure until I saw him pull out the nail polish before even putting acrylics on my nails! Mind you, this was my first time getting acrylics so I didn't know the process. In the end, he charged me EXTRA for the manicure prep HE mistakingly gave me. My nails also suffered a couple days after getting acrylics done because of how rough he was with buffing and filing my nails. My cuticles are actually peeling and bled because of how much he picked at them and filed them. Sadly, I don't think I'll go here again. Pretty pricey, too. read more

Good local place for a mani/pedi. I usually go for the no chip on the fingernails and regular pedi. Place is always really nice and clean, the pedi area is a little darker, which I like, and rarely a wait. At this establishment, you do not pick a color off the wall, they have swatches for you to pick from. My no chips lasts and they do a good job. You cannot add a tip on your card so bring some cash. They do have an ATM there, but there will be a fee, only real complaint that I have. read more

I went here last weekend; this spa is near my Mom's house and not near where I usually look to get a mani/pedi, but, I got one of the best manis ever! In addition to the usual ambiance you typically look for in a spa, I judge by how straight my nails are done. Every place typically gets the nails straight, but, I guess I mean straight and even. One place in Glenview always did them straight but angled. One week out and my nails still look perfect! My 17 year old daughter and her friend just went to get their nails done. The nails looks nice but she was surprised how drastically the price went up by 40 percent. I understand the importance of supporting local business and that closures due to the pandemic have caused financial burdens but a 40 percent price increase is steep. This was not mentioned the previous day when the appointment was made. Then when she went to pay she was rudely told cash only and incurred more charges by using their ATM machine. My daughter is extremely hardworking and was using her earned money to treat herself. Johnny was simply AWEFUL! While I was sitting there he drilled so much a tip popped off (so you KNOW they charged me for a replacement!). Anna came over and did a 3D design after Johnny did my acrylic fill. Another nail tip popped off the next day! I travelled to another state at this point and paid ANOTHER nail salon to repair it. 3 days later ANOTHER nail has its color separating from my nail! My nails can last 3 weeks usually THIS is ridiculous it hasn't lasted a week without major/costly issues! Came in for a full set. My nails looked soooooo bad. It's so embarrassing. I went in at 9:45 and left at 11:30... took forever for someone to help me... the salon is nice but my nails were horrendous. Completely different shapes on all the nails, some were thin and most were super thick. The length was not the same... some were long and my thumb was so short. I completely wasted my money and my time. They told me i was getting a "gel" which was 52$ and these nails ended up falling off after being told theyre suppose to last longer which is why theyre more expensive than the regular full set. I went here and had a questionable spot on my thumb-they paid no attention to it, and it started to fester-a week later I returned to have it looked at, and it was a FUNGUS!! They took absolutely NO precautions in treating it-drilling it out and a piece of my nail actually fell out!! They did not clean or sterilize the drill or files which could lead the fungus to b transferred to other people! They should take fungus seriously and NOT seal it in with another fill. I was upset and the girl was yelling at me in front of other customers. I had to tell her to stop and that I AM THE CUSTOMER! I used to go here often since I really appreciated their large color selection. I stopped going due to their poor customer service (Such as rushing, texting on the job, ect.) Recently, my mom suggested that we should go back and give them another try. Immediately upon entering, after making a reservation, it was a 30 minute wait. (What is even the point of a reservation at that point?!) It looked like they cleared out their color choices, a primary reason why I used to go here in the first place, and replaced it with a book for you to choose from with twenty or so shades. I asked the guy doing my nails if he had any more color selections, as I seen nothing that really interested me. He seemed annoyed that I asked. In the end, my nails looked really nice upon completion and I was really happy with them! I got them done with a halloween style for the upcoming halloween season. However, after it only being 1.5 weeks of having this set of nails (acrylic), 3 CAME OFF! I was doing nothing out of the ordinary, and usually keep my nails on for 2-3 weeks at a time. I'm so disappointed, they were really cute. I feel like this place could definately be more great and would earn me back as a customer if they brought back their large color choices, took more time on their customers instead of rushing the job, and fixed the problem that I had with the acrylics. But for now, take your $35 and get your acrylics done else where. read more

I used to enjoy getting a pedicure here but the last two times were a disappointment. I chose the Hollywood Spa Pedi for 50 bucks which includes a hot stone massage. The massage was a fast uncomfortable rubbing of stones against my skin (think of a Boy Scout trying to start a fire by rubbing sticks against each other). The paint job was botched - the technician kept picking at the extra polish and literally caused my big toe to bleed. The blood did not deter her from continuing to poke at my raw toe. Their "disinfecting" procedure consists of spraying the chair BUT NOT THE ARM RESTS. Also the male technician (owner?) does not wear a mask when doing pedis. The customers are not required to wear masks and they no longer have the plastic partitions for the pedis (they still have them for manis). Each pedi chair is filled - no social distancing. My technician did a good job cutting my nails and was pleasant but fell short in the other areas. i need to find a new place. Sad because options appear to be limited in the area. read more
