This Hollywood Feed is ALL about customer service and making the customer happy! We switched from PetsMart after they admitted to prejudging breeds and holding a bias against bully breeds or those that look like they may have any bully in them at all. I am so glad they did that! They pushed us to the new Hollywood Feed by Market Street and we haven't been back! When we first came, we were feeding our girls Blue Buffalo Freedom and they didn't stock it. When we were asked how we could be helped we told them and they didn't skip a beat to get it ordered and in stock regularly for US - even if no one else was going to buy it. Needless to say they've sold it regularly and stock it regularly now, but it felt good to be catered to. They always have an amazing selection of natural chews and treats, including dried fish, meaty bones, bully sticks, antlers and much much more. Healthy and high quality foods; dry kibble, canned, fresh, refrigerated and frozen! The wall of accessories can be overwhelming, the selection is broad - albeit not as affordable as PetsMart. The key is their customer service. Every employee is willing and able to help, and friendly, too. On-leash dogs of ALL breeds are allowed and welcomed! They have a dog washing station there where you can come and wash your own dog! There are times when they have a groomer, but the hours are select and I'm not sure of them right now. read more

I had zero idea that this place was here. I had come to the shopping center for something else entirely and then decided to get some information at another business. When I came out and saw Hollywood Feed I recognized the name from the local feeds of several other Yelpers and was intrigued. I think my mouth might have dropped open when I entered- so colorful, so much to see, stuff to the ceiling, wow! This place seems huge to me but I was told they were one of the smallest locations in the area, and also one of the busiest. I rebuffed the multiple greetings I got for a while since I was just browsing. Then the questions started rolling, lol! It started when I saw the self service dog wash station in the back. I had never seen one of those and was super curious about the signs. I asked an employee, who turned out to be Rome, about the cost and she told me it was $10 and they provide all the product. She also told me that not all locations have them, they are the only one in the area that offers it. Okay... that's all for now, I'm going to browse dog food. As I was getting ready to leave and considering the prices, I recalled they didn't really have much in the cheaper price range. Things were mostly priced medium to high for dog food and treats. Dog beds and toys had more of a price range, including some really good deals. Since I didn't recognize some of the brands, I decided to inquire about the selection before I left. I turned around and Rome was there again, so I asked her about the prices versus the brands and asked if the limited brands had to do with their standards of what they sell. Wow, that led to 20 plus minutes of awesomeness! I'm in love with this place! Rome was so helpful and attentive. I told her I was really impressed with how knowledgeable she was and found out she's only been there a few months. All the employees are trained extensively on all their products and it shows! They only sell brands with quality ingredients, good practices and respectable reputations. She told me about a brand of dog food I had never heard of and had information on their policies, politics and history, it was amazing. She even referred me to several sites for comparison. Knowledge is power and having all this additional knowledge about other brands made me feel a lot better about considering new brands for my two dogs. At this point the questions just kept flowing and I learned a lot about options they have for joint care and the benefits of alternate flea care. So much learning was happening I think I was starting to get high. There were many friendly, leashed 'customers' and that made everything fun. It was cool to see rawhide ears in flavors like peanut butter and blueberry. Such a fun place! They also have a sale flyer on their monthly deals and I saw wire kennels and dog beds for very reasonable prices. I was also told about their website which turned out to be extensive and I like that you can not only order items to be shipped, but set up repeat orders like dog food every month. Some of the products like food, treats and medicine can get kind of expensive, but I really love that they stand by their brands. They love animals here and want to help! Thank you to the gentlemen who helped me today at flowermound location! I told him of my sick dog who isn't eating and he showed me a dog food which my dog actually ate! He even said if dinky doesn't eat this to bring it back and I would get a refund. I'm so glad because he has eaten about a quarter of this can. At least I could get his pain meds down! read more

Well, How do I start? I have been to this location several times before and had relatively good experiences. This trip will be my final visit to any Hollywood feed. I was asked if I need help and I responded with looking for a diet small breed for an older dog. I continued to say that our dogs are 9n Purina pro plan and I didn't see any Purina product. This younger employee starts to give me a "we" opinion degrading Purina products. I politely told him I wasn't looking for an opinion and to have a good day. My wife goes to check out and a cashier gives attitude regarding the phone number not being in their system (we usually use my number). Basically due to opinions and poor customer service we won't be back. Chewy.Com will get all of our business from this point forward. read more

Potty training a puppy? The guessing is over! I am in the process of training my young St Bernard. She has routinely been coming to me when she wanted to go outside. As a life-long owner of large breeds refining the training always came down to how well I could read the puppy's message to me and distinguish between the times she came to me to play or cuddle or if she came to me because she wanted to go outside to go potty. Yesterday, at Hollywood Feed in Flower Mound, I picked up the all-time classic--Poochie Bells! Poochie Bells hang on a ribbon at the designated exit door. Follow the simple directions of showing the puppy how the bells ring and when they ring, the door will be opened for her to go outside to potty. I showed this to her yesterday. Coco rang the bells four times today--each time I stopped what I was doing and took her out. She went potty immediately all four times. Consistency is key. If you are potty training puppies--run to Hollywood Feed for your Poochie Bells. By the way, take your puppy shopping with you--the staff loves to meet your fur babies!! read more

Everytime I come in to get food, toys, accessories for the new dog or cat, I am treated with respect, kindness and understanding. EVERY SINGLE TIME!! Trying to figure out the food my dog loves was a nightmare for me and I had to retun barely touched bags and thought it would be stressful, but, no. They talked me thru what I wanted for my dog (grain free, organic etc, kinda hard food but not too brittle) and assisted me. The 5th one was the golden ticket and, fortunately, there's several flavors that I rotate thru. And almost the same scenario with the elderly cat. This staff is EXCEPTIONAL!!! And of course, the store is clean, organized and well stocked. I say of course because I would expect nothing less from this staff. Thank you for your hiring decisions. Love the variety of treats and pet supplies! Also tried the self-serve dog wash for the first time tonight - was inexpensive and easy even with our 146 lb pup (shampoo, brushes, aprons, towels, and blow dryers are all provided at no extra charge). read more

I wish i could give them 0 star for their customer service. I waited 3hours after i dropped off my dog for grooming so i called them to find out the estimate time, the receptionist said "we call you when we are done" in such a nasty tone. Then a groomer Keri came on the phone and said it will be another 45 min or so because my dog got pushed back cuz they had quite a few walk ins today including a family who brought in 4 dogs. Whats the point of making an appt then? They should really learn to prioritize things and learn how to talk to their customers . Im never going back to this place again . read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! The staff at this location is so rude, unhelpful, and they have absolutely no customer service. My two puppies became ill from a bag of Nutro Large Breed Puppy food that I bought from here and when I took the bag back 2 of their employees Tori and Lizzy refused to even listen to me, would not refund my money, and offered 0 help to an upset customer! I left and went to the Richardson location, and the staff there was so courteous, friendly, and helpful! They refunded my money, gave me new food suggestions, and sent the old food off for quality testing. AVOID THE FLOWER MOUND LOCATION AT ALL COST! read more

Love this place. We have been shopping here for a couple of years. We have 3 dogs and 1 cat and always find wonderful food and fun items for our animals. Keri, groomed our golden and she did a wonderful job. Our golden has to be shaved during the summer so she can swim in our pool 3 times a day. I called this location and spoke to a gentleman about booking a grooming appointment for my two small dogs. Keri was booked up for 3 weeks but I wanted her to groom my dogs because she had groomed my girl before and I was sure that she would do a fantastic job with my anxious boy as well. We arrive 3 weeks later for the appointment and was told by the lady working there that they weren't on the books. I told her that I had made the appointment 3 weeks ago and and asked if they were going to work them in since they had made a mistake. The girl looked and me and told me no. I asked her if she was being serious and she said yes so I told her that we would just go somewhere else and she rolled her eyes and told me okay in a smart toned voice. I was appalled at the behavior of this employee. I was upset and forgot to get her name but I can describe her to the owner or manager if they care. I will never step a toe back into their store. It's really not even the fact that they didn't mark it down when I made the appointment to begin with, but more the attitude and complete lack of care or customer service whatsoever. read more

I love this store to begin with but when they hired on a groomer I jumped at a chance to find a less mediocre place. I brought in my recently adopted senior schnauzer who looks extremely cute when he's shaggy. I asked him to be shaved for summer, with a schnauzer face and I emphasized his feet being trimmed. The woman was extremely nice and when I explained that my dog had been nippy in the past she put the blame on my previous groomer for "man handling him," giving him the benefit of the doubt. When I picked my dog up he looked so ugly it was ridiculous and all I could do was laugh when I saw him. The groomer however, did EXACTLY what I asked her to do. She cut him exactly how I explained and did an extremely good job, even though she probably looked at my fat tootsie roll of a dog and hated how he looked. The groomer at Hollywood Feed gave my dog the best haircut he's had since I got him 6 months ago and I highly recommend her to everyone. read more
