Horrible business. If you want good quality cd's then don't go there. Refused my business as I was trying to order and even tried to place a new order! Blamed me for issues that had nothing to do with the product I gave to the business. Placed an order and the sound came out wrong. It was a mess trying to get them fixed with this company yelled at me and blamed me when it was not my files. Then the next week I called to order some more and he was stuck on last weeks issue and could even handle new business me trying to bring them money. Well, I am genuinely sad to say I had a difficult experience with Harout, but feel it's worth sharing. I have done business with Hollywood Disc in the past and aside from slow response times to emails and having to follow up, it has been positive. I also like to support smaller businesses like his and had recommended him many times. This time there was an issue with the artwork on a short run of CDs that resulted in the image being off-center. I had asked for a proof before printing, and while I know an actual printed proof is not an option, an online proof would have prevented the issue. It was also something that should have raised a flag, in my opinion, but I know he does not make creative decisions on art and that's fine. I had to have the digipak itself redone (not the disc label or inserts) and asked for his help in covering the cost because there was no proof in spite of my request. He was grumpy, but agreed. Obviously, I appreciated that and told him so. I believed he did this to preserve our working relationship and to continue doing business. However, when I brought the order back for more copies with the same art we used the second time (successfully), he flat out refused to do it without discussion. He claimed he was unable to be successful, even though everything was fine the second time. There had been no animosity in any of our exchanges, at least on my end. I am simply an artist and couldn't afford to cover an error I felt was not our fault. I told him if I had known having him cover the cost would mean I could not order additional copies - or I guess do business at all, since that is the ongoing project I will have for a while - I would not have accepted the offer. This was a small order and a small expense on his part that I'm quite sure is part of the cost of doing business. I guess just a warning that if something goes wrong (and that seems very common in printing), he may refuse to work with you, so if you're looking to have an ongoing relationship with someone you can rely on and who will roll with the occasional challenge or unexpected problem, you may have to look elsewhere. At the very least, I recommend insisting on a proof or being incredibly meticulous with your art. read more

I experienced such great service here that I actually felt compelled (for the first time ever) to actually write a review! I had a last minute job I desperately needed done, and when I called, the man I spoke to was so helpful and accommodating. He processed my order immediately, and didn't charge me extra for the rush job or anything like that. He asked me if I was genuinely happy with the product, and while I totally was, he still offered to print some brighter options just so I would have something to compare it to and see what I preferred. This place is awesome! I called to ask about duplicating 50 cds as soon as possible. Harout, the owner, answered the phone and was surprisingly pleasant. I immediately felt that I wouldn't have to look elsewhere. I found my duplicating place! He quoted me $75 and when I asked if there's extra fees or tax he said No just $75! Nothing extra! I emailed him some words and a photo so he could design my cd art. He did a great job and didn't charge any extra fees for this, whereas another business I contacted (and decided not to use) was going to charge me $10 for 15 mins of design or $40 for the hour, tax and all kinds of random fees. Harout emailed the design back to me the same day even though he said it probably wouldn't be done until the next day. I emailed back that evening and told him it was great. The next day I called him and told him I was ready to come in with the cd file and get it duplicated. He asked me what time I would arrive and told me that he could duplicate the cds on the spot for me and it would only take 10 mins. Wow! I wasn't expecting the job to be done so quick. I showed up and was greeted by a very friendly, smiling Harout. His energy was just as I had expected from the phone call. He's is full of love and seems to genuinely enjoy providing an excellent service. He printed one master cd to show me the quality of the art. It was very high quality ink right on the cd. No white sticky labels. Perfectly smooth beautful and dry cd art. While I was waiting one pleasant man walked in to get his cds or dvds. He told me he was getting ready to go on tour and that Harout is the best and he keeps coming back to get his cds or dvds duplicated by him. Within 10 mins or so, I didn't count the time because it went by so fast, the cd's were printed, duplicated and each one was in a sleeve. How did he do it? I was expecting to have to put the cds in the sleeves myself. I told him this and he laughed and said Hollywood Disc is full service. Yes it is! I told him that his positive energy and excellent service exceeded my expectations. Then he did the unthinkable! I handed him $80 in cash expecting $5 back in return. He handed me $20 back and said I give it to you for $60! What? Wow! Really? What a great guy! Unheard of! I couldn't believe it. He said he could tell I was a good person and wanted to charge me less. I have to say this was one of the best experiences I've ever had at any business ever! Also the location is perfect. The office is literally 5 mins down the road from me right off of San Fernando Road. Easy parking in the parking lot and the office is right there on the first floor. The office has a really good energy, has an open space and is not crowded with people. It's just Harout sitting there taking phone calls. It was very nice and personal. The office also showcases examples of their work. Everything looked very professional and beautifully packaged. I am the singer of a band, and we just finished our album. I needed 100 promo CDs printed up with full color CD jackets (cardboard sleeves), and I needed them quickly.....in time for NAMM (a huge music convention in Anaheim). I called about 5 to 10 companies before I called Hollywood Disc. (Hollywood Disc was actually recommended to me by another local band called 9 Electric.) The person that I dealt with at Hollywood Disc was Harout. Not only did Harout quote me a better price than the other companies that I called, but they got my CDs and CD jackets printed quickly, on very short notice....They made it so that I got my CDs in time for the music convention. I just walked in with my master AVCHD discs and my master DVD's, and they made 100 duplicates of each for only around $1 each and it literally took 15 minutes. I couldn't believe how fast they were. Duplicating from home is a huge pain and Fedex Office takes 10 minutes to duplicate EACH DVD and is like $8 each DVD. So obviously Hollywood Disc is the top choice for duplication, either for professional, big bulk jobs, or more low-key student projects like mine. I couldn't recommend this place more for speed, price and friendly, helpful staff. I'm going back for case printing and for all future duplications. read more
