Two minutes ago I picked up a white three-piece suit that my husband owns for various 1920s themed costume parties/venues. Two YEARS ago, he spilled soy sauce all over the sleeves and the front of the jacket and then forgot to ever have it cleaned. He had to wear it again last weekend and managed to get braised lamb on it. I brought it to Royal cleaners showed them all the spots, apologized and just requested that they do their "best". One time I paid $90 for a small coat, and I should've asked the price the second time they charged me 150. When I went to pick it up, the lady was asking for my phone number?, which I gave. I gave her my phone number and she said there is nothing under this number?? then I gave her my daughter's phone number because sometimes I drop off stuff under her phone number, and she said NOPE, there was nothing but with a snorkel Rude smile on her face. She was condescending, and trying to tell me that I did not drop off anything??!! I was getting frustrated with her, so I said lady please go back there and take a look. It's pink and it's supposed to be ready by today. She went back there and she said there is nothing in pink back there. Then I started looking on my phone. With the experience, I learned not to trust them, so I always ask for the price and take a pictures of the receipt when I drop things off . They hand written the receipt with the price on it. As I was searching on my phone, I found the receipt. I showed it to her, and she said I misspelled my name?? I misspelled my name, I told her seriously. These very expensive sweaters were returned to us shrunk with the colors faded. We approached the owner to share our concerns and were immediately met with defensiveness and without any willingness to even listen. Instead of acknowledging the clear damage to the sweaters they denied responsibility. I like to support our local businesses but really felt disrespected and attacked in this process.
