Smelled musty throughout. Furnishings seemed as though someone went through their attic and grabbed stuff to use as the "desk". Walls were replaced by trash bags often enough and in different places so you have to assume this is a common "work around". Drive the extra couple miles and avoid this "hotel". You won't regret it.

Roach in the bathroom

I will NEVER stay here again! It was quite the shock to see this enormous roach as soon as I woke up. I had to kill it as it made its way down the wall toward our stuff. The front desk was as surprised and disgusted and gave us a small discount. We paid the $10 extra for the breakfast and it was overpriced. It was the worst breakfast that I've had in awhile and all came out at different times. There was only one overworked waitress, resulting in suspect slow service.

Broken rusted lamp

This hotel solidifies the rumors that HI has gone down hill. While the lobby looks updated. Once you enter the floors it's an entirely different experience. The carpets are dirty and stained, the chair in our room was torn, stained and dirty. Also the shower rod was coming out of the wall and the tub was stained. The lamp was rusty and broken .. generally a horrible experience - we had been traveling ten hours and unloaded our things so changing hotels wasn't as a good option. Calling HI corporate to register a complaint was difficult at best. The lady checking us in was friendly and welcoming, Barbara. When we left our key, neither ladies at the desk spoke to us

Both ladies that worked the front desk exceeded expectations. This will be our "go to" hotel in Santee. This morning on my way for a swim a man was bawling out the front desk clerk. The man was horrid! When his embarrassed wife finally pulled him away, the desk clerk looked up at me and she smiled, "Hello, ma'am. How may I help you?" Wow! I was blown away. A sincere smile one second after being reamed out?! Still amazed at how rude the customer was and how professional she was. Anyway, the pool & pool area were clean and warm. Plenty of clean pool towels too. Clean bathrooms in the gym/ pool area. Good fresh complimentary coffee in the lobby. Both hi-test & decaf, hot water, tea bags, creamers etc as well of a good supply of cups and lids. Our Executive King room was clean and comfortable. Lots of freshly laundered towels, in room coffee, ref, microwave & all of it very clean. All the employees we met were nice but the front desk clerk this morning was simply amazing!

Mike the bartender is a great guy and fun yo talk to.

I live local and my friends have been going there for dinner and I finally went and I was not disappointed. I met Mike the bartender all the way from Miami. He was lots of fun to chitchat with. I ate the salmon BLT which was fantastic. They have the best looking sliders I've ever seen.

Last month I was in South Carolina on a business trip and I stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel lobby was nice and modern although I prefer the dining room for the restaurant to be enclosed in a separate area of the lobby. Checking in was quick and easy and the staff was friendly and professional. There was coffee and tea available 24/7 which was great. The room comes standard with two queen beds. Plenty of room with a dresser with a tv on top, two end tables and a desk. A bathroom with a shower. Thete The restaurant was practically part of the lobby so when enter to check in you will people enjoying their meal or having a drink at the bar. There is a Fitness room open 24 hours but it is really small. There is a treadmill and an elliptical machine, Medicine balls and small weights. The swimming pool was nice, heated and clean. I would have liked a hot tub and there was no place to change clothes except the bathrooms outside across the hall, which are used by those patronizing the restaurant and bar. This was disappointing. I changed in the bathroom because I didn't want to walk around in my swimming trunks. Otherwise a nice hotel with free Wi Fi and conveniently located near the interstate.

Nice size room!

Had a great experience at this hotel. We stopped here in our way back from Florida to Pa. The hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating( we needed two adjoinIng rooms). Our rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Each room had a microwave and fridge. One room even had a little sink area which helped when we needed to watch and prepare the baby's food. When we had a issue with our tvs. The hotel staff was very receptive and quick to assist us. Although we did not have a pet, we did see pets in the hotel and the hotel was pet friendly. There were even a pet friendly floor. The location of the hotel was perfect it was easily located right off of I 95. Will definitely come again if we are traveling in the area. Well worth the price.

Spa like bathrooms with artfully folded towels.

We have stayed at most Tru locations along I95 but this was our first time at this location. The reviews looked good so we booked it! We actually received our digital check in prior to arriving, the digital key actually worked, and we actually received the room we chose. Unfortunately, we arrived later in the evening so most of the decent restaurants close by were closing. We decided to set up shop in the lobby and order Uber Eats. There was a male and female working the front desk, who were friendly and accommodating. The hotel was sold out for the night and it definitely showed! The lobby was constantly full of traffic. While we sat in the lobby and ate, we also watched tv, which the staff gave us the remote to change the channel. There are multiple televisions so multiple channels can by watched. We purchased beer and wine from the market but I wish there was a better selection for the wines. There was a shift change while we were there and the next employee hustled her butt off! I wish I would have asked her name because she was working nonstop the entire time we were sitting there. She was about 5'8", slim, African American, maybe mid 30's, and working Saturday evening into Sunday morning. The room was clean, the AC worked well, the shower did not have a lot of pressure though. Breakfast was good and when I inquired about any bananas, the breakfast employee went and grabbed me some from the back. I wanted to tip but didn't have any cash and she said don't worry about it. The staff were good at this Tru! Oh and when we were at breakfast, we noticed a sign stating no alcohol sales on Sunday in the market so good to know.

Breakfast was not my favorite as I miss the waffles, they had a pancake maker, but no waffle maker and everyone was in line for it . Other than that stay was great and staff was great too.

Imagine sitting there for 4 hours while he constantly spoke or Allie spoke. We didn't mind Allie because she was kind and soft spoken. However it was a really different story when it came to Matthew, he was aggressive, rude, obnoxious, condescending, and insulting to say the least. He insulted my husband many times by insinuating he was cheap didn't care about his wife wants or needs ( that being me), when I myself wasn't in the market to purchase any more points. We made that perfectly clear as soon as we sat down at this presentation the audacity that this guy Matt had was unbelievable and especially rude. I have called the resorts corporate office to no avail! So far I have gotten zero satisfaction from my complaint! Meanwhile we have been owners of Wyndham for 21 years and this is the way they treat their owners. You should be ashamed of yourself Wyndham for not responding to an owner! Maybe after seeing this review they will take action and call me or at least email me, or respond to this review. I'll be waiting

My dog and I had been on a roadtrip to the Florida Everglades and heading back to New Hampshire. In…read morethe first leg of the journey home I made it as far as Santee South Caroline. It was frigid out and the forecast was for lows in the teens so I decided it would be better to get a room for me and TBone for the night. Using the Priceline website, I found a pet friendly hotel for the best value (cheapest) $42. The Quality Inn and Suites in Santee. I booked through Priceline and the problems started as soon as I arrived. Right off the bat, an additional $5 servicing fee (they could not explain what that was) but ok. Then they wanted an additional $25 dollars for the dog (non refundable). As the price was now at $68, and a $100 security deposit that was not mentioned on the Priceline app nor the webpage. I decided TBone and I could stick it out in the RV. I would just keep it running intermittently throughout the night. When I tried to cancel the booking through Priceline, I could not be refunded so I had to stay and TBone could stay in the RV. I gave the hotel clerk $100 cash security deposit although not happy about it. So we stayed, however, I watched TV in the room for half an hour, took a shower, but decided I would also stay in the RV with TBone and just start it up periodically to heat. In the morning, I showered in the room and went to return key and get back my deposit. The clerk and manager (owner turns out) had to go check the room first. As I had not slept there, there should have been issues. However, they returned from the room and denied me my $100 security deposit. They explained there was blood on the pillowcase. The clerk showed me the picture and there was a blood stain but it was smaller than the area of a dime. I reached behind my neck and I did have a mosquito bite from the Everglades and I must have unconsciously scratched it. Hardly a reason to deny my refund. This is a hotel and people get scratched and bug bites. Incouldnmotncinceivenidnwhybthey would keep my $100 for a pillowcase. I believe they already knew they were gonna try to get me for something from the light before when I tried to cancel. The room was otherwise unused and spotless. I didn't sleep in the bed and it was still made, not a wrinkle. I feel like this is actually criminal on their part as they could not produce any policy on this security deposit and what it entailed. Do yourself a favor...do not check into the Quality Inn and Suites I. They will try to pull one over I. You or Rob you. If I can attach a picture of the stain I will. Absolutely scandalous
