Booking was easy but this room is disgusting. The phone doesn't work. The shampoo is an empty bottle. Cant even call desk for more. The shower comes out so hard it will rip your skin off. I am on blood thinners and now I've got huge bruises on my arms. I am so pissed off that this room is over 100$. Avoid this hotel! Do not stay under any circumstances! Stopped here on way to Florida. Only stayed because of the pool. Told the manager at the desk I would like to get a room near the pool. No problem he says! (The place is empty) We check in to a dirty gross room. Blood or poop on the walls not sure which (wasn't doing the sniff test). Went to the pool. LOCKED. The manager who just put me near the pool didn't bother telling me that the pool was closed. Got dressed checked out. Asked for refund. Given a complete runaround had to dispute the charges with my bank. Rude. Dirty. Gross. Scam artists. My dog and I had been on a roadtrip to the Florida Everglades and heading back to New Hampshire. In the first leg of the journey home I made it as far as Santee South Caroline. It was frigid out and the forecast was for lows in the teens so I decided it would be better to get a room for me and TBone for the night. Using the Priceline website, I found a pet friendly hotel for the best value (cheapest) $42. The Quality Inn and Suites in Santee. I booked through Priceline and the problems started as soon as I arrived. Right off the bat, an additional $5 servicing fee (they could not explain what that was) but ok. Then they wanted an additional $25 dollars for the dog (non refundable). As the price was now at $68, and a $100 security deposit that was not mentioned on the Priceline app nor the webpage. I decided TBone and I could stick it out in the RV. I would just keep it running intermittently throughout the night. When I tried to cancel the booking through Priceline, I could not be refunded so I had to stay and TBone could stay in the RV. I gave the hotel clerk $100 cash security deposit although not happy about it. So we stayed, however, I watched TV in the room for half an hour, took a shower, but decided I would also stay in the RV with TBone and just start it up periodically to heat. In the morning, I showered in the room and went to return key and get back my deposit. The clerk and manager (owner turns out) had to go check the room first. As I had not slept there, there should have been issues. However, they returned from the room and denied me my $100 security deposit. They explained there was blood on the pillowcase. The clerk showed me the picture and there was a blood stain but it was smaller than the area of a dime. I reached behind my neck and I did have a mosquito bite from the Everglades and I must have unconsciously scratched it. Hardly a reason to deny my refund. This is a hotel and people get scratched and bug bites. Incouldnmotncinceivenidnwhybthey would keep my $100 for a pillowcase. I believe they already knew they were gonna try to get me for something from the light before when I tried to cancel. The room was otherwise unused and spotless. I didn't sleep in the bed and it was still made, not a wrinkle. I feel like this is actually criminal on their part as they could not produce any policy on this security deposit and what it entailed. Do yourself a favor...do not check into the Quality Inn and Suites I. They will try to pull one over I. You or Rob you. If I can attach a picture of the stain I will. Absolutely scandalous read more

Probably the prettiest front lobby of any motel I've ever been in. I think they are renovating. The room itself was big and clean and the bed was actually VERY comfortable. I was shocked at how nice the bed was. It wasn't the neatest, or most up kept grounds. Paint issues, broken mechanical room doors.. but the room I paid for was exactly what I needed. And you cannot beat the price considering the hotel across the street was over $200 a night. We stopped around midnight since we are on a road trip. We will definitely make this stop again on this trip. read more

Absolutely filthy. Do not waste your money on this dump. Dirty floors, nasty bathroom, BLOODY SHEETS!!! Stains on every surface (unknown substance and stickiness everywhere). TV remote is broken and the toilet does not flush. Roaches all outside of the exterior. AC is barely functioning and the rooms smell of mold, mildew and piss. Quite sketchy outside if you are traveling alone I'd take extra precaution. Paint is chipped on almost every wall. PUBES AND HAIR ON SHEETS IN BATHROOM AND ON THE GROUND!!! We checked in on Aug 29 we was give a room at the very back of the property which seems to have not been cleaned In months and that's just the outside then the room was filthy with dead roaches because they bombed the room and left the digger and box on the floor then there was dirty towels left in the bed so we got our money back read more

Charging 25.00 for a 10lb dog and then another $50.00 on top of the dog fee is terrible customer service. I had a hard time understanding the desk clerk and one chair in the room is not enough when there are two people that checked in. Also, I wanted to heat my supper and the microwave does not work! This hotel is huge, and being renovated. It is also an amazing value. The woman at the front desk was attentive, kind and helpful about the area. I had a few small issues with my room which were addressed immediately. It is not a Marriott but I really enjoyed it, and the area. I was given a 'courtyard' room which initially irritated me because I didn't realize you had to park on the outside and walk though the walkway (duh). The bed was very comfortable and the room was the most silent I've ever experienced (off I-95). In the light of dawn I was greeted by a beautiful pool area, sparkling clean, with large tables and chairs around it. I will go out of my way to stop here again. This could be a really inexpensive short vacation stop, especially if you have kids. read more

This place is dirty, full with of trash, homeless in parking lot, fights and screaming in rooms. I'm well traveled and never experienced such a horrible place. Front desk did nothing and after check in told us probably no where to park. The break looks like recycled food was disgusting would not ever eat. Super super dirty place the rooms were very dirty and the beds have never been cleaned under the sheets.

I was in the hotel for like 5 mins, I went to my room and it was dirty! I went to the front desk agent and they were already being asked for clean pillows, these was dirty! I said I didn't feel comfortable staying there and was to they lent note for md to get refund! DO NOT let the charming appearance fool you. The frontage rooms and office have been remodeled at least the outside, because for some strange reason with only 6 cars in the parking lot, we were not given a frontage room. So my comments are specifically for the rooms not on the front. Let's begin, dirty linen, curtains that won't close, lights and outlets that don't work, and don't venture to the back side looks like they haven't ventured back there either. Back to the room, and letting the hot water run for 10 minutes and just deciding to take a cold wake up shower to get out as fast as possible. read more
