After seeing a response from the business, I decided to call the hotel directly. I spoke with James, a regional manager at the Pendleton hotel, who confirmed that the response was automated and did not come directly from the hotel. He also confirmed that no pictures were taken of the linens after washing to verify that they were unable to be laundered. While I appreciate James taking the time to have a conversation with me, rather than having Karen talk over me, no reversal of the charge was made. We will not be returning. read more

The whole downstairs was a scary construction zone, yet they charged us full price. We were very disappointed and will not be back.

Overall I would say the hotel itself was better then I expected. I booked the hotel room two nights prior to staying there as it was a halfway mark to my destination. I booked through booking.com because that's the only way it would let me booking through your website. I booked the wrong day intending to book two days out. I called the hotel and they just signed me up for a rewards system and then hung up. So I called again, explaining I misbooked the wrong day. She too hung up on me. I called a third time and expressed I have already been hung up on twice anytime I was put on hold. No apologies, horrible customer service. Put me on hold again and hung up. I ended up figuring it out with booking.com and I knew it was non refundable at that point so I did stay there and it exceeded my expectations but even upon arrival the customer service was still not there. No warm greetings, just very transactional. The lady who works in the breakfast area was very nice. She was the only one who works there that was. But again overall, the rooms were not bad and the pool was better than most hotels I have stayed in. read more

Definitely won't choose this place again. Rooms are run down, dirty and dingy. Mold in the bathroom. I just went to take my socks off before getting in bed and my socks are covered in dog hair from the dirty carpet. Yuck. read more

Clean rooms, refrigerator, microwave, enclosed bathroom (sink inside bathroom). The best part is their breakfast. We had eggs, sausage, yogurt and pancakes. The only thing we were disappointed about, there was no dumbbells in fitness center (some Holiday Inn's have them). Not a deal breaker. Will stay again during the next poker series. read more

It's about what you'd expect for a Holiday Inn Express in the middle of nowhere: slightly dingy and run-down, but basically fine. At three stories, it's one of the tallest buildings around and you get a nice view of the surrounding area, mostly rolling hills with some farms. The place is pretty much abandoned by 10am, so it's easy to get late checkout if you want to sleep in. The downsides are that it's close enough to the highway that you can hear the highway and that the gym only has cardio equipment (two treadmills and one recumbent bike). Also, the free breakfast kinda sucks. The eggs have some kind of weird cheese whiz stuff in them (neither me nor my girlfriend could take more than one bite) and most of the rest of the food isn't much better. I expect the free breakfast at cheap hotels to be a collection of cheap food (scrambled eggs, hardboiled eggs, cereal, milk, etc.), but this truly went above and beyond the lameness you normally expect from a free breakfast. P.S. request the third floor if you don't have a pet and don't want a room next to a barking dog! read more

It's not the TRUMP HOTEL it's the Holiday Inn. Holiday Inn provides what YOU SHOULD EXPECT, not anything more not anything less. In fact, Frank, our concierge, was over the top with professional hospitality. ** Attention General Manager; Mr. Vishal Patel, give Frank a Raise!! Whatever you do, don't lose him to another company. I wish I had someone as sharp as Frank working for me. It never ceases to amaze me when people disparage hotels for not meeting their expectations. We the hot breakfast with cinnamon rolls. Such a nice spread. Coffee with our favorite creamer! Not really anything wrong with the hotel, just showing some age. The bed cover was TIRED, and we were put in a room right off the elevator. It is a quiet place, and it wasn't expensive. read more

Great front desk staff that greeted us with a smile and dog treats on the cusp of o-dark-thirty. The room was on the first floor right by the door and was almost perfectly quiet... except for the fire door. The door has a tight recall and slams shut with a metal on metal bang that could wake the dead. I would stay there again if we did not have our dogs and did not need to be close to an exterior door. The common areas look freshly made over... too bad they didn't install a quieter door option.. then this would have been a perfect first night on our cross country drive. read more

Don't stay at this place. We stayed there on May 1st, 2024. We had a two bed room - and in the middle of the night, the bed my husband (72 years old) was sleeping on, just collapsed. It made a terrible noise - and slammed to the ground. Scared us all to death. Thankfully he didn't get hurt. We had a conversation with the front desk - and they just blew it off as - whatever. Said they would tell the manager - came back after a couple minutes - and said - oh, the manager is out of town. We called the corporate office and were told that we were talking to someone in a foreign country. They told us we would get a return phone call in a couple days. Today is May 16th - and of course, no response. Its obvious that they don't inspect their rooms for maintenance issues - because if they did - this wouldn't have happened. Will definitely not stay at a Holiday Inn Express anywhere now. read more

Not new, but clean. $20 pet fee, or if you want to avoid all pets you can book a third floor room where they never allow pets. The first room had a funk, so we asked to switch and it was no problem. The 2nd room was clean and funk free. Slept like a baby. Word of advice: I was coming cross country from the East and needed to make up some time, so I decided we would push through and drive a little longer. What I didn't take into account was the freaking mountain pass just outside of town that I had to go through, in the dark, while it was raining, and with fog at the summit. It was the most terrifying driving I've ever done and I was shaking when I rolled into town. Just keep it in mind. read more

Just days before Christmas, 2016, we were traveling through Pendleton en route to Spokane, WA, when our car broke down. This was potentially a problem not only because we were in a high volume time of year but also because we were traveling with our 95 # dog. Having had good luck in the past with the Holiday Inn chain, we went to the Holiday Inn Express in Pendleton. The reception staff was wonderful and helped us out with a few references for local repair shops. They also warmly welcomed our well-behaved pet. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The property also has a nice open area behind the hotel where you can take your pet to relieve itself and play (it's not fenced). They even provide doggie poop bags for your convenience. In the morning, we enjoyed a continental breakfast that included a variety of choices like oatmeal, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, dry cereal, cinnamon rolls, fruit juices and more. The quality of the food was good with the exception of the scrambled eggs. Their texture reminded me of powdered / reconstituted eggs. The cinnamon rolls were quite nice considering they were a pre-made product. Our stay was so nice and relaxing that we actually stayed there on our return trip one week later. We were in a different room but the room condition and bed comfort were the same--excellent. We even took advantage of using their washer and dryer. It was only $1.50 per wash/dry and it only took one cycle to dry our clothes. (They do have quarters available for the equipment but you need to give them cash. They do not have the ability to charge quarters to your bill.) I would definitely stay here again. And, when my travels take me through Pendleton in the future, you can be sure that I will pick the Holiday Inn Express if I need a place to stay. read more

I was very nice and replied to an email they sent providing feedback on our stay. I also went to the website to contact management to provide my story. No one got back to me so I'm posting the experience here. This was a terrible stay. The sink was plugged and no one ever came to fix it, we got one washcloth and one hand towel and had to keep asking for more, the housekeeper and front desk people were rude. At one point, we needed bath towels, and they provided old worn out rags that were about half the size of a regular towel. When I called to ask for different towels, they said the towel service dropped the wrong ones off, but they gave them to us anyway! They came up with regular towels so they obviously had some decent ones somewhere. They raised their prices to double during the Pendleton whiskey festival. So we paid over $300 a night for a terrible experience and rags for bath towels. Very disappointing that they send an email asking for feedback but provide no reply. There are many other hotels to stay at in Pendleton. read more

This place was nice on the outside but for the price you pay the rooms its not worth the stay. Our shower floor creaked, we could hear the people upstairs walking (stomping), we could hear the people in the room next to us perfectly. They did offer a pretty good complimentary breakfast that was a nice surprise. read more

I know this is an older hotel but.........We checked into our room to find garbage in the garbage can and no coffee or cups. Overall the room looked clean, sheets and towels were fresh. We got coffee from the front desk and decided to stay. The door knob on inside the bathroom was goopy. The tv remote didn't work. Breakfast isn't served til 6:30 which is getting late for those who want to get going early. We don't plan on staying here again and we like this chain. read more

I do not recommend staying at this Holiday Inn Express location. It clearly was an old hotel that was converted into a Holiday Inn Express. The conversion was very bad. To say I was surprised and wowed is an understatement. We stayed here for one night in the beginning of August, on a road trip (sadly, very sadly) moving from OR to CO, with our dog in tow. The room was so much nicer than I was expecting. Super clean, very spacious, and nicely designed. Strong A/C. Comfortable bed and pillows. Huge bathroom with good amenities (more than your usual roadside hotel, I think), good shower water pressure, and so on. The mini fridge was surprisingly large, too, so I would guess on a longer visit that would be helpful. Joseph at the front desk was so friendly and pleasant to talk to; when I saw we were going to be in a room in the middle of the 2nd floor (next to the elevators), I asked if we could be moved because of our dog. He put us in room 200, on the second floor, in a corner, right next to a stairwell which exits out onto a grassy area in the back of the hotel. This was *perfect* for our dog! Also, the breakfast was actually really good for a free hotel breakfast! We were happy with the items and variety. The location is convenient to the highway and there are gas stations right across the way from the hotel. It was sad to move out of our beloved and beautiful state of Oregon, but we were super satisfied with our night here and our lazy morning the next day. We would stay here again. read more

We stayed here twice last month. The staff was very friendly and know how to get around town real well. Needed directions a couple times and these people got us where we needed to go! We had our small dog with us and they were super accommodating. Rooms was clean, the sink draine well. Great views from the east side of the hotel. Breakfast is typical for a Holiday Inn Express. I will say for a quick breakfast it was good. They had no problem giving you as much as you desired. When making reservations make sure to ask for the east side. Like I said it has great views and quite. I actually look forward to stopping again when headed back to Washington. The outside looks great from the remodel but the staff and cleanliness was awful! We were placed in a room with blood splatter in the bathroom and didn't realized until the morning since we got in so late. When we notified the staff they told us, "oh, you should not have been placed in that room, there was an accident in there the night before". I requested a refund and they said no but would give us extra points. I called several weeks later when I never saw the points in my account and they have declined to compensate me for staying in what my family calls, "the murder room". I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless they want to stay in a place with bodily fluids.... so gross! read more

Dog friendly... The room was sorta small, but it fit two queen size beds, two people, two dogs and a cat... so that said, it worked really well for us. The room was clean, and the hotel itself backs up to a big open area, so the view is pretty. There is also plenty of space to walk the dogs. We didn't even bother with the breakfast because it didn't look to good, so we went into town and found a Starbucks for coffee. I liked the Holiday Inn Express better than some other places we stayed on our trip, it was totally functional. And, it offered lotion, with the shampoo and conditioner, which I just found out on this trip, doesn't always happen at the price point I am traveling at. Small thing, but I couldn't find mine, so I was dependent on the motel/hotels providing it. read more

We stopped here for an overnight stay on our road trip. Everyone was nice and friendly! They also allow pets which was great! The room was nice and clean. When we first walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly women at the front desk. She got us all set up in our room very quickly, she was so sweet and helpful. Our room was wonderful. The room was very clean and spacious. Some people have commented on the decore of the room as being out dated, our room was very updated and modern. The bed was super comfy, I like having the choice of a firm or soft pillow, and you get 2! The breakfast was very good for a hotel breakfast. You are given a lot of choices. Biscuits and gravy, omelettes, pancakes, cereal, oatmeal......and more. The cinnamon rolls were not my favorite, we came down close to the end of breakfst service so they may have been better if they were more fresh. We really liked this hotel and would definitely stay again if we are in the area. read more

Clean for the most part, but rundown. The carpet looked like it was used as the floor in an oil change bay. Didn't want to take my shoes off. Only one cup of regular coffee in the room. 2 dogs next door that were walked outside every 30 minutes and barked loud enough for the whole hotel to be woken up. Four days of golf with a room. Best vacation in quite some time. Room was very clean and housekeeping staff was very accommodating. Restaurants were good and service was excellent. The odor of smoke in the casino was minimal and there was no odor of smoke in the room. The golf course was fair, challenging and immaculate.
