We travelled to Pendleton in the middle of September and was pleased with the fact that the rooms are cleaned, new towels and bed made every day. It seems like more and more hotels are not cleaning every day. We stayed a few days on this trip at the Hampton Inn in Kennewick and they cleaned the rooms every other day. In July we were in Phoenix for a wedding and stayed at an Embassy Suites (4 nights) that would only provide new towels and clean upon request. We didn't try to breakfast so I can't comment on that. Anyway, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. And that is the number one thing I want in a hotel. read more

Looks Premium, Delivers Budget Motel Service I stayed here for one night while helping a friend move across the country. At first glance, the property seemed promising. The exterior is attractive, and amenities like the pool and hot tub made it appear to be one of the nicer options in the area. Unfortunately, that first impression did not survive the stay. The hot tub was warm, but the jets did not work. That ended up being a recurring theme throughout my visit: things were either broken, poorly maintained, or simply not functioning as expected. The room itself had a strange odor upon arrival. It wasn't overwhelming enough to immediately complain about, but it was noticeable. The room key reader was also damaged and only worked if the card was inserted at a very specific angle. Most disruptive of all was the air conditioning unit, which emitted a loud, high-pitched shrieking noise throughout the night. I've stayed in numerous hotels during this trip, and none had an AC unit that sounded remotely like this. The biggest disappointment, however, was the customer service. At 8:55 a.m., I went downstairs for breakfast. Rather than being greeted or assisted, I was immediately informed that breakfast closed "at 9 on the dot." While I understand operating hours exist for a reason, the interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational, especially given that I arrived before closing time. After some discussion, I was eventually allowed to get food, but the entire exchange left me feeling like I was inconveniencing the staff simply by showing up during posted breakfast hours. The experience only deteriorated from there. While preparing my food, the dining area lights were turned off despite guests still being present. Later, when staff attempted to verify my reservation--which had been booked by my friend--they appeared unable to locate it and seemed to assume I was somehow trying to gain unauthorized access to a room. One employee even remarked, "I guess you guys got that room for free," before realizing they had been looking at the wrong reservation entirely. Rather than apologizing for the confusion, the interaction left me feeling accused and unwelcome. For a hotel charging between $200 and $350 per night, I expected basic professionalism, functioning facilities, and courteous service. Instead, I encountered broken amenities, maintenance issues, poor communication, and staff who appeared more interested in enforcing rules than helping guests. The building may look nice from the outside, but that turned out to be a misleading indicator of the actual guest experience. Between the condition of the room, the nonfunctional amenities, and the disappointing customer service, I would not stay here again. In hindsight, I suspect I would have received better value and friendlier treatment at one of the budget hotels across the street. Rating 2/5, hot tub was still nice even if partially functional. Save your money and look elsewhere. read more

We had only pool towel in the room, small little towels. We went to ask for bath towels we were given pool towels again, told that was all they had. Called the front desk and they said we could come get bath towels. When I told them we'd just been down and they gave us pool towels only. The front desk was rude. The bed was ok, on the hard side. The room was somewhat clean. No coffee in the room. Breakfast was limited. If there was a room available in a different motel we'd move. We visit Pendleton about 3 times a year. We have stayed at Oxfords, Best western and a few years ago here at Super 8. It was much better organized, better customer service and The front desk person last night was great, but this morning front desk was unhelpful, and packed like it was a luxury to have bath towels only. After 30 minutes we were given bath towels. This place has really gone downhill. I can only assume it's ran by a different manager or owner. We won't stay here again. read more

We were charged $50 extra for a missing pillow. We did not take a pillow. We were not provided a receipt for this or the hotel. This looks like a scam on senior citizens to me, a lie. This is a money making grift. Look carefully at your charges, they add on charges that are false. It is my opinion they do this often, if they can get away with it. I have never in my travels been given an excess charge at a hotel. Best western is a regular stop on our travels to and from Mesa, AZ for the winter. We stop at Jerome, Idaho best western. That has now ended, we will never stay at a best western again. read more

I've stayed in a lot of best westerns and hotels in general and this place feels more like a motel than a hotel. The bed is terrible, lumpy, springy, squeaky, hard and soft if that's possible? The curtains smell like marijuana, and the whole room looks dated, dents in the walls, the arms on the chairs are chipped, just doesn't feel clean. The side door to the building doesn't lock which doesn't feel safe. For $200 a night I'm not impressed. read more

Room was very comfortable and clean. Wish they had a safe in the room. The booklet said they had a safety deposit box at the front door but the staff said they did not. Pool could have been a little bit warmer and had more chaise lounges near the pool. I came to the hotel after a long drive and was looking to using the hot tub but it was almost empty with cold water when I arrived. The next morning, I could use it and it was much better. The side door near my room was unlocked and could be accessed by anyone, guest or not. I mentioned that to the front desk. The lady said something about fire hazard and ingress and egress. I don't understand her answer because other hotels have locked doors and guests can exit in the case of fire and the fire department can by many ways. The breakfast was OK but nothing fantastic but the lady working that area was friendly and interactive with the guests. read more

I called the front desk and was asked if I was alright with it.... Sure. I am traveling with my family and would not stay here again with my family. A great choice right off the highway. Two gas stations and a restaurant right across the road and a beautiful view out back. Clean rooms, take and go breakfast, very friendly and helpful. There is no elevator as it's a small hotel but it was quiet and we parked near the door to our stairs. We were travelling to Seattle, this was just right. Nice big parking lot too. read more

Best Westerns are pretty consistent which is why I am a Diamond Select customer. This property was no exception. Nice, clean, comfortable room. Very good b'fast. Soup and cookies in the lobby. The coffee in the lobby was hot and fresh at all hours. 99 times out of 100, when I show up at a Best Western, my Diamond Select membership means *NOTHING* to them. In fact, since becoming a "rewards" member I find that I am treated worse than I was when I used to just walk in off the street. The Pendleton BW was a pleasant exception. I was greeted and thanked for being a rewards member.... all my points were accurately and quickly posted to my account....*AND* they gave me a gift bag along with my points (this is a first for me). When I asked, I was told that they always give a gift bag AND bonus points to diamond tier members. Nice! Very much appreciated. If there was a six star option that's what I'd give this motel. read more

This is a really nice and clean hotel. Our room was spacious and modern and had everything we needed. The check in process was easy and the front desk attendant was very friendly. I was very disappointed that there was and extremely loud air conditioner in our room. I got very little sleep the first night of our visit, so I was tired and cranky the next day and I had a lot to do. Without the air, it was really humid and uncomfortable, so it was really a no win situation. I bought earplugs and wore them the next night, so I felt much better the next day. Take earplugs! Breakfast was a fiasco. Even if the power had not been out in the kitchen, I would not have enjoyed the breakfast. Because of the power outage, there was no coffee. There was also no hot water, so I couldn't make grits or oatmeal, which would have been better than those plastic looking eggs. The breakfast attendant almost seemed happy that the power was out. She never greeted us or anyone who was there at the time and when I asked her if there was hot water for oatmeal, she smirked and nodded "no." She never said a word to me. Keep in mind that there is no elevator in this hotel, even though it is a two story building. It wasn't a problem for us, but just make sure to request a room on the first floor if you have physical limitations or lots of luggage or children. read more

We have stayed at this BW since it was built. Stay twice a year when going to the coast. We were quoted a price of $189 for our way over and $189 for our return trip. We were charged correctly, one week later on returning home we were charged $383 even though we had a confirmation for $189. The gal at the front desk said she could no nothing about it. I called the GM Marion and she told me the rates change daily depending on what's happening in town. The next nights rate was $189. Do they just get to pull these prices out of a cloud? We were pleasantly surprised with our stay at the BW. From the exterior, it does look a bit older, but it is well maintained. They have definitely worked to maintain and make upgrades to the interior. The beds were fine, the room was spacious, the bathroom was clean and updated. The room was pleasantly cool. Breakfast was grab-&-go due to COVID precautions. There was a decent selection for breakfast, but no hot foods, at the time. Coffee was self-serve, which was nice. We would definitely stay there, again, if we are driving through and needing a place to stay. read more

Checked into this hotel on two separate occasions. The gentleman at the front desk is friendly and nice. However, he tells you your room number out loud which is a hotel security faux pas. They have cookies and soup and night and a continental breakfast in the morning. The rooms appear nice but upon further inspection they're not that clean and needing some updating. The sheets were either dirty or stained. The worst part was that we found a BED BUG when checking the beds. Thank goodness it was spotted before we completely unpacked or even slept in the beds. The front desk was made aware and we checked out immediately. Also, their side door always unlocked. It does not require a key card (like most hotels) at all and anyone at anytime can enter the hotel. It needs better security. read more

Front desk staff was friendly. Here's the weird thing....this hotel has no elevator, but they didn't mention that when the reservation was made. Good thing I'm able bodied! But being on the second floor made it a trek with luggage. The room smelled bad and there were gross stains on the carpet and the upholstered desk chair. I think I would give 0 starts if I could. Overall,it wasn't horrible to be fair but I think there is a serious mismanagement going on. We stayed in Holiday Inn for $90 one day ago in Twin Falls and it was spotless clean, very well organised with new furnitures, attentive staff and a wonderful restaurant. Next day, we paid $140 here and you can see how the room was from the pictures a little bit. There was a foul urine like smell in the room, the AC was incredibly noisy and another smell was coming from it ( had to turn it off), bed were old and uncomfortable. We changes rooms but nothing changed. Next room was exactly the same and this time the really noisy fridge was not working at all! I mean if Holiday Inn can do 10 times better for $90, I don't know why people would stay here. We barely slept and left very early in the morning. Will never ever go back! As soon as I opened the door I was greeted by a strong musty smell that didn't go away despite my best efforts of opening the window and using the A/C. Easy chair and ottoman and office chair provided seating to watch TV, Large walk-in shower, with great water pressure. Bed proved to be a bit too soft for us. My company spends close to $300,000 a year here and he still could t learn how to treat guests who help pay the bills. We started to go next door to Holiday Inn and had reservations for the Pendleton Round-Up coming up in September. There were 5 of us staying 5 nights and each had our own reservation. We book these every year and had them booked prior to Tyler coming to Best Western. After a few child tantrums and a poor taste email to myself, he deleted our reservations!!!! I hear he is looking for work but Best Western still hadn't made it right with us. I hope the old manager Mike can come back and restore order. 1 star deserves a -5. Update: in response to KaSandra's comment below: charging a fee, with the assumption that all pets cause "damage," is not pet friendly. Any guest can cause damage to a room, but are not charged a damage fee. You are penalizing guests who travel with their pets. Therefore, I stay at LaQuinta which is completely pet friendly and NEVER charges a fee. In fact, they welcome your pets with a smile. Just wish they had a Pendleton location. ************* Called to ask about traveling with pets and was told that they are "pet friendly." Great...but, er...they charge a fee for the privilege of staying with your pet. That is NOT "pet friendly" by any standard. I asked if they charge a fee for people who arrive with children and, of course, they don't. If you are worried about damage that any guest may cause, then either charge a fee for everyone or just state that you don't accept pets. You are losing a lot of business from this pet-hostile policy. read more

Checked into the hotel by Melissa she was fantastic very friendly and polite, she went above and beyond for me. We will definably be back.
