PRICES very high although hotel is clean and convenient. Stayed early June. Heather at front desk was not available while we waited with arms loaded with groceries and no working key to open room. She was very rude and angry and righteous. This is 3rd stay but definitely last. She even argued with me and said I had to I be nice to her as people have to eat. Housekeeping very helpful and nice however. I know it's hard to get good help but that was poor service for the price. read more

There is not much within walking distance but it's a quick ride to downtown Pendleton. It's perched on a hill so you get a nice view of the town. Freeway noise is pretty minimal with the AC on. Staff was friendly and checkin was easy. read more

if you use Hilton because of the quality of hotel and service, please read this review. Do yourself a favor. DO NOT spend a night at this hotel. My party found the room to be dirty. There was hair on the tub as well as a plastic wrapper which meant the room had not been cleaned. One of the pillowcases smelled of cologne. My party abandoned the bed with smelly pillow, due to it not being clean. In the morning, they went to get coffee and there was none. They went to the front desk to complain about the room and the coffee. The staff openly admitted the owner would not allow them to purchase coffee. My party asked for a refund for the stay. The staff didn't want to give a refund because "They had been giving too many refunds." the staff openly complained about the Management. They finally gave a refund and my party left with a zero balance. As they were leaving the room, there was a group of cleaning staff waiting to get into the room. Within a hour, the hotel recharged my credit card. When I called I was told that the cleaning staff had gone into the room and found that it was clean and my party was lying about the hair and plastic wrapper. What they didn't know was that pictures were taken by my wife, so I had proof. They sent me the pictures they took after my wife left the room and sure enough, the tub was cleaned by them, then they took photos. To resolve this, the hotel promised that I would be compensated with points equal to the nights stay. I asked several times for the name of the manager who authorized the points. It has been six months since the stay and the hotel has ghosted me. I held off writing the review to see if they would have any integrity. They have none. This hotel does not rise to the quality of a motel six. I use Hilton for a specific reason and this makes me wonder of the Hilton brand is going downhill. It's unfortunate that Hilton has no way to file a complaint. They just tell you to talk to the manager of the property. Yeah, really effective when you can't even find out who that is. Had a good experience here. Check in was easy and staff were friendly. Parking also was easy and location is handy right off the interstate. We had a nice room that was clean. Kids loved the pool, and the free breakfast buffet was just fine. We'd stay here again. read more

I mean Hilton. Come on Hilton. This is ridiculous. This is the worst Hilton hotel that I have stayed at in over 2 years with frequent travel. Just failed the standard through and through. The receptionist who checked me in... Brittany I think, she's wonderful. Great customer service .. however the upkeep... futile. I was moved from room 1 because of the bugs in the bed and dirty sheets. Room 2.. hairy bathtub, assortment of hair in the sheets... I mean what is going on. Stains everywhere. 2/2 fail? Housekeeping... what are we doing? I requested a nights worth of points to compensate for the first incident. I will talk about second incident in the morning but overall.. this hotel is at this point... unsanitary. Photos below. Where am i? We like staying at the Hampton Inn whenever we're traveling. The main reason is that we know what to expect. But not tonight. When I first entered the lobby area, I was underwhelmed, to say the least. 1. It not only looked dated, didn't have a fresh smell, but had no color or atmosphere. The front desk checked me in, gave me my key, and I was up to the 3rd floor. 2. As I entered my room, there weren't any hooks on the wall for me to hang my purse and coat. I'd have to put them in the closet?? 3. The room is bare. There are three small pieces of art, but nothing that lends to the feeling of elegance. (The room price was quoted at $165 tonight- on a Monday) The comfy chair needs a contrasting pillow at least. 4. The desk doesn't even have a notepad, pen, or paper with the letterhead of Hampton Inn on it. (Or a card from housekeeping) Am I staying in a Motel 6? After being dissatisfied with the appearance of my room, then it got even more stressful. 5. I took the lid off my ice bucket and noticed there wasn't a plastic liner in it. I've never seen that before. I took the elevator down to the reception area, and the employee immediately told me that the ice machine was around the corner. I told her I didn't have a plastic liner in the ice bucket. She said she would give me one, and she did. This gets even more comical. But I wasn't laughing. 6. I went back up to the third floor, put the ice bucket in the ice machine, and pressed the button. It was empty! Have you ever heard of an ice machine at a hotel being empty? 7. There was a coffee table nearby with a hotel phone, and I pressed zero for the operator. She never answered the phone after 15 rings. 8. I had to take the elevator down to the front desk to talk to her about that machine or at least let her know. But she WASN'T at the front desk. I went around the corner and filled my ice bucket and then went back to my room. I realize and understand that these days, hotels are short-staffed, and this employee had to cover all the bases. All the problems in my room are not her fault at all. This is the owner's doing. No hooks in the room, no decor, notepads and pens, Hampton Inn stationery, a bug crawling on the wall, hair in my bathtub...where is the Hilton's special touch? Whoever owns/manages this hotel should be in a different business. Definitely not in hospitality. It's midnight now. My bed is very comfortable and I'm sure I will sleep well. I'm not sorry about this poor review. Everyone knows I love promoting businesses, but this hotel does not deserve being promoted. Because we've stayed at the Hampton Inn so many times, we were awarded a free night's stay. This wasn't a reward at all. read more

Checked in exceptionally early. Not feeling well. No problem. (Thank you!) Delightful, helpful front desk. Answered all questions. Room is perfect. It has everything. Desk has good lighting and plenty of outlets for all your devices and computer. Bedside there are different outlets for your phone charger(s). Pull out sofa in the room. Plenty of footstools, other surfaces to open suitcases on and unpack. Bathroom has plenty of outlets for electric toothbrush, shavers, dryers. Room has a microwave and dorm refrigerator. AND -- breakfast served in the AM! Yay! Always helpful. Saves so much time and runaround. Bed linens are great. Different pillows -- firm and soft. Nice, large TV that is intelligible to work. This hotel room has it all. Highly recommended. AM UPDATE: Always sorry when I have to do this, but ..... (1) No soap in sink-side soap container. No other bar soap there either. So, no soap period. (2) Bathroom exhaust fan won't turn off. (3) Door to hallway closes poorly. Security issue. (4) Noticed dorm refrigerator was really hot inside the cabinet. (So I left the cabinet open at least.) Because the temp control knob is turned to freezing. It is stuck there. So, overnight my milk and OJ froze pretty close to solid. Will update again after breakfast. (5) Clogged bathroom sink. Quite clogged. Sink plunger detached from the lever. So could not correct. UPDATE #2: Breakfast was ok. Had selection and warm items. Healthy items also available. It's a Hampton Inn, not a Ritz Carton. There are only a handful of things that I need them to do well, and they did well with all of them. Front desk staff was friendly and efficient. They allow dogs and have plenty of space to take them outside. Parking is easy. Hotel is clean. Everything seems to be in working order. Room was clean and comfortable. It had everything it needed to. Bed was good. Plenty of bedside outlets and USB ports. Shower pressure was fine. Breakfast was tasty. They had all the basics covered. Scrambled eggs, warm biscuits, sausage gravy, bagels and toast, waffles, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, yogurt,, milk, juices, coffee. All the condiments, toppings, etc were accounted for. The buffet was kept orderly and stocked. I did not check out the pool. It's not a brand new hotel, but everything is ship-shape here. Definitely does the job well. Nice job. read more

Best stay we've had since before COVID. There are tell-tale signs that this is an older building, but they've clearly remodeled it, and did it well. Unless you're looking, it would easily pass for newer. Also, it's built like a tank, I didn't hear anything from the road or rooms above, below or beside me. The staff is all helpful and kind, from the front desk, to the breakfast, and housekeeping. I don't know how they found such a great staff but every single person was an absolute joy. Everything was clean. The breakfast was glorious, typical Hampton Inn, but so many extras, and plenty of food. And served until 10! I just had a stay at an Embassy Suites in Hillsboro that wasn't half as nice, and breakfast ended at 9, which means really 830. We are on the road to visit my oldest son who isn't well, so this stay was the perfect way to kick off a stressful road trip. We slept well, ate a balanced breakfast, and had everything we needed. I'm thinking my next staycation we will head out here and do something my Mom always wanted to do, and explore Pendleton. It's a beautiful area and I can't wait to come back here and just relax. It's been a long COVID year, I need a vacation and this is the only place I've found you can get it. Only thing I will say is the pool is apparently still closed. Some have it open, some by reservation, so if that is important to you, this might be disappointing to you, but for now, my priorities are nice people, clean rooms, and a robust breakfast option and this does it better than anyone else. read more

Ughhhh!! I had a reservation for two nights. On the second day of my stay and without any explanation the hotel cancelled my second night. I was able to talk the receptionist into giving me a room for the night, but they raised the rate by over $70!! The rooms are nice and the breakfast was acceptable. The manager, however, was difficult and completely unapologetic for the issues that occurred. There are plenty of other hotels nearby so if I ever decide to return to Pendleton I'll avoid the Hampton. read more

I reserved 5 rooms for family that were coming to La Grande for my wedding. I used my credit card which they made a copy of to keep on file. The manager Jonathan Radford asked me to fill out a form that showed the amount I pre-approved which I did in the amount of 10K. I asked that all confirmations be sent to me so I can forward to my family. I only got one confirmation so I went back and finally got all 5. Unknown to me my family was asked to present a card in case there was room damage but then they charged all 5 families the total costs. When one of the 5 called the hotel wondering why he was charged when I was hosting they said they had no paperwork concerning me. I fact I received all 5 confirmations and an after stay emails asking how was their experience with Hampton. Now I have to contact all 5 families and apologize and reimburse them for Hamptons mistake. This is very embarrassing. I'll never recommend them again. read more

A/C filter clogged; I cleaned it in shower. Ice machine not workIng on floor no internet access on floor no toiletries, wall dispenser pumps 27" higher than lavatory counter (64" from floor). Bed and pillows were comfortable, but top sheet was "short sheeted" (meaning top of sheet was 2 feet from top of beds). I remade bed before sleeping. Front desk clerk did not seem to care. Breakfast was almost standard, no fresh fruit, waffle machine produced crispy/crunchy waffles. This is a lower tier Hampton; will not stay here again. read more

In my 30+ tests of travel (60-100 nights per year) this is absolutely the worse experience in terms of customer service. I am a Lifetime Titanium member with Marriott and almost a Diamond member with Hilton. But I am thinking of dropping from Hilton after this experience here. Had car issues a few hundred miles away and could get to Pendleton. Tried calling the front desk to explain and it took 3 attempts to get someone to answer the phone with the latter taking 2 minutes before a person answered the phone. She would not waive the hotel charge because, in her words, "I don't have any authority and there is no manager here at night." I called James, the day manager, this morning and he would not waive the charge so now I've had to pay for 2 nights - one in Boise where I was at and this one for Pendleton. Needless to say, I have never encountered this in all my years. There was no "I'm sorry" or any lack of understanding from James. Obviously he has no authority, either, to make decisions to help customers. So, James, keep the money but you have lost a Hilton customer. read more

We stayed here on our first night of a 23-day road trip with all stays, outside of Yellowstone and friends, booked at Hilton properties. This took the crown as the worst hotel out of the 10 we stayed in. The room wasn't ready at the time we were arriving. The key cards would not work and they had to call in outside help to fix it. The rooms were bare bones and the place was in desperate need of a refresh and cleaning. Shower had mold. Breakfast in the morning told more. The urn for the 2% milk was leaking. Instead of finding a pitcher and ice, the staff just removed the milk leaving only skim. Overall, my impression of this hotel was the staff was terrible and not able to be proactive versus reactive. Honestly, Hilton needs to rethink the owner's comfort letter and find a new one that is willing to represent the brand in a proper manner. read more

BED BUGS. Do not stay here. I felt uncomfortable upon walking in and noticing the outdated carpet and yellowing comforter. I woke up after my first night and found a cluster of itchy bites on my back. I wasn't certain if I received these bites at the hotel or elsewhere, so let it go. On my second night I woke up at 1 am to feel something crawling on me. I flipped on the light to see a BED BUG crawling on my arm. I immediately put the bug into a cup and took it to the front desk. The girl at the front desk was kind enough, though she denied it was a bed bug. She told me she would gladly refund me and I found another place to stay. The next morning I woke to find a receipt from Hampton Inn, fully charging me. I called to verify that because my room had a bed bug infestation that I would be fully refunded, as the front desk had told me. I was told that she was new and that a refund couldn't be guaranteed. I am livid at this response. I have called the health department and an inspection is in line. This bed bug infestation is on top of security concerns. I had left my key in my room on the first night. I went to the front desk, and without asking for an ID, or even a name, she handed me over a card for the room number I specified. So, usually I'm pretty understanding when it comes to customer service errors, but this was inexcusable. I made reservations at the Hamptons and when I did I specifically said that we have 2 dogs and need a floor-level disability access room. They said no problem and said nothing about a pet fee. I also asked what time check-in was and they said 3pm and I also asked if there was a bath tub in the room because it helps with my joint pain, to which they also said yes. So we get here at 245. A little early but I was happy to wait a few minutes. Apparently check-in is at 4. So she gets us checked in and tells us we can wait and I say "I just want to make sure we got a ground room floor? I specified that we needed one when I made the reservation. The desk lady goes: "oh.... No the party that's here on the ground floor decided to stay all week so there's none available." Ok...... that's not that big of a deal. So then I said "it's on there that we have 2 dogs right?" And the lady goes "no..... that's gonna be $45 each." So I said "are you kidding me? I specifically said on the reservation that I had two dogs and they didn't say anything about paying almost $100 for them to stay with us. I'd never have made the reservation if I knew that." And the check-in lady says: "well.... I'm happy to cancel the reservation but you'll still have to pay for it since it's past the cancellation time." Tell me in what world that makes sense? For us to pay $140 to save $90 and still have to find some place to stay.... So I get up to the room thinking that I'll at least be able to soak some of my pain away after being on the road all week but no. There was only a shower. So I call their customer service and explain everything and he goes "well those are the rules. Either pay the fee or you can stay somewhere else." I was less than kind and hung up the phone. They lied about the availability I needed and specifically kept the pet fees from me. 100% not ok. Will never stay here again. read more

For the surrounding areas of Pendleton, this is the best hotel to stay in. It is very clean and doesn't feel dirty. The place and beds are spic and span clean. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel is built so we'll you can't hear the highway. The front desk staff were personable and helpful. We would definitely stay here again! read more

Phone message keeps touting its hot breakfasts when the bag of marginal snack food and NO COFFEE SERVICE, except no-name meager coffee in room is disappointing! I thought the orange might be okay but this Hampton seems to procure the cheapest orovisions for its breakfast bags. If you're trying to just stop and rest it's decent-ish. When I got there it was ok until my family noticed the bathroom had not been cleaned. We found that we had no tissues and a dirty toilet and a dirty bed. When asked to switch they did and when we switched the room for the most part was clean but the bathroom sink clogged up pretty quickly And the Shower area was not cleaned. I'm a Hilton Honors member and even though it isn't the most expensive place. At least have the kindness to do your jobs and provide clean rooms. The only positive I can say was that the staff was helpful in finding me the available room that they had. read more

We stayed at the Hampton in Pendleton, Oregon July 1, 2023 with our son and his family. Our granddaughters were excited to play in the pool, but we were told on check-in it was closed for maintenance. Later, I went to get ice, but the ice machine wasn't working and there was no vending machine. The bathroom was clean but needed work and no carafe for the coffee maker. They are still conducting business under the false premise that (1) the pandemic is still in full force; (2) masks must be equired even if you have been vaccinated. So the "free" breakfast is only free for those who want to play into the false narrative. We just traveled across half the country with no such restrictions in any of our hotels or restaurants. If you have kids DON'T stay at the hotel. If you want to take a shower DON'T stay at the hotel. We stayed one night 7/12-7/13. We had 4 in our party my mom, me and my two boys (9 and 1) They put us on the 2nd floor right above the lobby. We checked in around 230. By 330 the front desk was up at our room saying we had complaints from all around us. They also said that we don't want to lose business and we don't want to have to kick you guys out. Mind you there were maybe 10 cars in the whole parking lot and this was the first complaint. Again we'd only been there for an hour. So we apologized and said we'd try to keep in down but that's hard with a one year old that's been in the car for around 6hrs. A couple minutes later we called and suggested that maybe we could get moved to the bottom floor just to keep everyone happy. She said there weren't any other rooms available. That night around 7 I told my 9 year old to shower and by the time he was done (he takes super quick showers... maybe 5-10 minutes) the same front desk came up banging on our room asking if there was a leak. We said no but she said there's a ton of water coming from right below our room. I'm so confused how that could happen. He was in and out in 5-10 minutes and I was in the bathroom with him making sure he's as actually showering. Now we are getting charged $350 for water damage and noise complaints!!!! I'm so pissed! It's ruined our vacation! I am now out $350 which puts a HUGE burden on me. I'm so frustrated, one shower and there's a huge leak! Complaints when we were only there for an hour AND it was at 330pm NOT at midnight. They were just excited to be out of the car! I can't believe this has happened and I don't recommend anyone staying here. I feel terrible that now I'm out $350 and can no longer do a lot of the things I wanted to do with my kids. read more

To begin, when we got there the evening staff were highly delightful and were on top of things. The next morning though was another story. We woke up and decided to have the breakfast they offer, we go to the dinning to find empty coffee containers and just a few things left to eat. We asked the lady at the counter if more will be out, being there is 2 hours left of them having breakfast, and she replied that they did enough preparing of food and coffee for the amount of guest they have. So with that said we went and had breakfast elsewhere. When we came back is when we started to become really unhappy with the place. We pulled in to see two of the staff, yes 10 ft away, smoking where everyone has to walk through the smoke and yes again 10 ft away from the door, with a breeze that blew the smoke right into the building and any open windows that were above them, oh and I look over the parking lot and the other people that paid to stay there had the respect to at least go over there. So we decide to just pack and hit the road. Well when I pack I will look under furniture to make sure im not leaving anything, well I did not leave anything but a gentleman left his glasses there, a dog left his toys and some food behind, a lady left some toe nails and hair ties. Well we go put our things in our rig and by this time im a bit frustrated and decide I am not a happy customer and want to talk to management about everything. I head in and ask for management and the lady says she is the manager, one of the ladies that was out smoking earlier, I tell her the issues I was having with the place and she just seemed to not give a damn what I was saying even if she actually listened to me. So I asked to speak to another manager or owner, she calls the next manager on her phone has a conversation with her then turns to me with the phone on speaker and the lady on phone ask whats the issue and befre I am even finished she says to me that I can get the F___ out of her hotel before she calls the cops. Well my wife decides its time for her to also call the police. Police come he was a really nice gentleman, nothing much an officer can do with anything like that. I stay at this hotel every time I visit Pendleton (which I'm here at least 4 - 6 times a year) sometimes the breakfast is good, but every now and then they run out of stuff and no one replaces it (no im not sleeping in, it's early) also, fruit is usually old and not much of a selection. It's very hit and miss, other than that... the hotel is fine, I can sleep and front desk is usually pretty friendly. It's a great location too. Anyway, it may be time to explore other options... if I'm going to have a "free" breakfast included in the price... I should at least get a decent breakfast. read more

Wow! For a Hampton Inn I would expect better. I show up for a reservation made a few days ago. Get my room keys and walk into a room that hasn't had maid service. Then they ask me if I would take a queen rather than the king I reserved. They did get me another room, but seriously this is part of the Hilton chain and should be better than that. I haven't stayed in a Hilton chain hotel for almost a year due to a poor experience at an Embassy Suites in Alabama almost a year ago. Just so happens there isn't a lot of choice in Pendleton and Marriott doesn't have any hotels in the area. Bad on you Hilton, I expect more, but obviously I expect too much. read more
