One of the best meals we had in Bend during our 3 day trip. Margaritas are simply perfect. The salt they put around the rim is the bomb, and makes the margarita. My daughter and I both had the sope de pollo. I highly recommend. The whole thing was fresh, a little bit spicy and the shredded chicken was tender. Yummy. Chips, salsa and table made guacamole are a must order. Mole chicken was what my hubby had and he loved it. Service was efficient and done with a smile. read more

Stopped through Bend on a marathon road trip and me and the three others in the car felt like something fresh and gratifying. We saw the high marks for the original Hola and decided to give the more convenient location a go. The place was dead at 1:00 in the afternoon and we were directed to the outside seating (perfect for stretching out). We saw the pitchers of margaritas on the menu and decided that would be fun. We asked the server for the least sweet one. So we got the Super Margarita, it was good, but a bit sweet and a little weak. We were served complementary chips and salsa (very good). Between the four of us we ordered the chile relleno, chile relleno burrito, mole with chicken, & mixed salad with halibut. Chile relleno was the winner, super good and fresh, no egg batter. We liked it in non burrito form the best (served with tortillas). Mole was also very good. Salad was fresh and good, but nothing special. All in all a good experience, service was ok, we'll be back if we pass through again. read more

Hey everyone trying to eat at The Hola! Sunriver location they are CLOSED for the winter season. Not sure where the mishap accrued but they set up a forwarding phone number to their restaurant and I've now been receiving about 40+ phone calls a day to my personal cell phone with people trying to make reservations.. The number you read on the Google link isn't my cell phone number but it connects to my phone when the links are used. Please let it be known that they are CLOSED, again for the winter season. I've spoken with a manager at a different Hola! Location in Bend who was very helpful and is trying to work on this problem but it still isn't fixed and my phone is blowing up all day.. Had a birthday dinner tonight....amazing red cactus margaritas...served in a large glass with the rest of the shaker given to you too! The ribs and halibut tacos were excelente and beautiful to look at. We each took a portion of our meal home. When they heard it was a birthday, all the servers and cooks sang the traditional Latino and American birthday songs...and gave a free shot to the birthday girl. Margaritas are fabulous as is the choice of very up-scale Tequila! The service too is just excellent. And of course the chips and guacamole, freshly made at the table are peerless. Eat nothing else at this location, however! Sadly the food is genuinely disappointing at best: Rojas Enchiladas were poor quality corn tortillas with chicken stringy and tough as a leather saddle. Hola Downtown! - Too Spicy Our first time at the downtown location. Cute location right downtown, small venue with 10 tables or so. We experienced great service, professional, prompt, friendly. The meals looked delicious, but the peruvian options were overly spicy. My husband's bacon wrapped shrimp covered in chipotle sauce was inedible it was so spicy. My girlfriends ribs, even with the sauce on the side was described as very spicy. I had the traditional enchiladas, and tuna appetizer and they were delicious and not spice at all. read more

Chose Hola on Bond st. based on reviews, as we are from out of town. The margaritas were good, but the flavor of food kind of fell flat. We are Mexican food people, and eat it whenever we go out, but the flavor and quality compared to most "good" eats was less than adequate. Went to Hola downtown last night. It had been a while since I came to this one. Our waiter was so awesome! He was attentive and did a great job. Also our drinks this time were so good! I had the guacamole fresco and it was great. A way better experience than in the past. Will definitely be returning here again! read more

Hey, don't let the strip mall appearance dissuade you. This place has some serious Mexican and Peruvian cuisine. I had one of the best Chile Rellenos I've had in 50 years of eating rellenos from southern Mexico to Vancouver, B.C. And their locally brewed Tranquillo beer is pretty good, too. Food was not very good. It lacks flavors. They need to make it better. Location and place is good but the food needs a lot of improvement. They should get better salas for the chips too. Price is too expensive for the quality you get. You can only charge that kind of price ($20 a plate) only if your food is good. Service is good though. read more

Hola! is a wonderful group of Mexican/Peruvian family-owned restaurants, 3 in Bend and 1 in Sunriver. My wife and I have known this family for many years and watched their chain grow over the years. The food is really good, service is friendly and helpful, and the drinks are excellent. The chips and salsa keep coming as long as you want. Don't eat too much else you'll spoil your superb meal. The father and brothers actively operate and serve in their restaurants. Get a chance to talk with them. They and their restaurants are a great addition to our community. read more

Had a great experience tonight when I went in solo for my birthday. The lone bartender Chance was great. Tended to myself and other customers promptly, positively, and kindly. My wife and I ate here this evening, as we were visiting from out of town. There were some other options around, but we were intrigued by the idea of Mexican-Peruvian food. Anyhow, after reviewing the menu we ended up not feeling that adventurous so I went with the Baja Burrito and my wife the taco salad. To be honest, they weren't bad, but they weren't really great either. My real problem is the cost. We paid over $40 (after tip) for a salad, burrito, and two soft drinks. For the record, the wait staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. If the prices were a little lower, I could have forgiven the average food. But as it stands, I can't recommend this restaurant over the myriad other options in Bend. read more

Hola was very disappointing. There was one staff member who was very friendly but the rest were rude and disinterested. With only one waitress putting in effort the wait for us to be served, get our drinks and finally order food was close to an hour. When the food arrived it was a bland and disappointing affair. The chicken was a flavourless leather wrapped in a powdery undercooked tortilla. The rice and beans side was a sloppy mush with some undercooked frozen peas and corn thrown in. I wasn't expecting authentic, I would settle for edible, I didn't finish as it was almost inedible. The mojito was the only saving grace of the meal. If you must go here order drinks while eating the free chips and salsa, and skip the food. It was expensive for what eventually arrived and with so many good places to eat in town you are better off skipping hola and going elsewhere. Very disappointing. read more

I appreciate the other restaurant locations as their food has been quite good, but for some reason this location has poor quality items consistently . Everything was over-done and dry, and no flavor. I have tried several times eating here and same story. The Redmond Hola is the best location by far for quality food. So disappointed that this isn't true for them. The one good thing I can say, is that the drinks are quite yummy and chips and salsa are always good. read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars because the Service and the Margaritas were perfection! She'll (curly blonde with a winning smile) hate me, so forgive me in advance for forgetting your name! At any rate, she was a star. We sat outside with our dog, sipping on margaritas and had the wonderful opportunity to meet this young lady who served us. She was awesome! SO friendly and kind, and just made us feel at home. She's clearly a dog lover and truly spoiled our beloved 4 legged friend. We had a small incident outside, but she handled it professionally and was very supportive. Actually, the restaurant team was awesome! It's because of her warmth and awesome service, we will go back and will absolutely recommend Hola! If you're (curly blond e with the winning smile) reading this, "Thank You!" for everything!. Service was terrible! After 20 min of being ignored they took our drink and appetizer order. They never returned with our drinks. After another 30 min they brought our appetizer but no plates and no silverware so we got to watch our food get cold while my wife went into the bar to try and get us some utensils. We had told one of the servers we needed silverware and she ignored us and kept cleaning tables. We were finally able to eat our appetizer and I cancelled our drinks which had still not come (mine was ice tea) paid and left without dinner. I am usually sensitive to how hard service can be but they were not crowded! read more

The only time I wanted to eat at this restaurant and had a bad experience I ordered chicken enchiladas and the flavor was so gross it tasted like they were soaked in dirty water. I also ordered a red cactus margarita which I also wasn't impressed by it plus it was overpriced but the most disgusting thing was that I sat at the nearest table that faces the kitchen and saw one short cook cutting raw meat and didn't wash his hands that was so gross. Hours posted on web page say they open until 10pm. Walked in at 8:27pm and the lady working there said they were closed. When I questioned the discrepancy all she would say was they were closed and not taking any more customers (there was one couple eating inside) and would not tell me when they actually close. I've been here a few times over the last 6 years. My meal was not as good as in times past. Empanadas were chewy and gummy, not flaky as they should be. The cold tuna and mashed potatoes was not very interesting, was expensive ($23) and the tuna was not really seared. Just a big hunk of raw tuna that seemed tough. Service was meh. One of the worst meals I've ever had. To quote my dining partner, "If this mole has been in their family for 75 years, there must be something genetically wrong with the family. They must all lack taste buds." Mole tasted like a Hershey bar found its way in. And my Ahi Chile Relleno tasted like a Pizza Hut pizza melded with Chicken of the Sea.
