Only difference was that they gave it a magical Harry Potter name and overpriced the heck out of it. Customer service is ALWAYS off here. Disgruntled 'bartenders' take away some of the magic that this place has. The decor is the same as the one in Orlando. Plenty of seating. The line can definitely get long, but it's a hit or miss. The service is very attentive and fast even with many customers they're very efficient. I was astonished by how good the food actually was! I didn't expect much especially because the food came in so fast. We got "The Great Feast" which claims to feed a party of 4 but there were 5 of us and we barely managed to finish it! Want to give a tip to everyone: often times these guys are partially filling drinks. Especially with the butterbeer. This isn't allowed and they are supposed fill the cups. If they do this and argue with you that "they aren't allowed by their management" send a complaint to guest relations and they will fix the issue. You're spending $10-15 for a small drink, you should actually get what you paid for. Maybe someday this ongoing issue will get fixed but not without people saying something. read more

What's Hogsmeade without the butterbeer? There's two kinds and both are great- it really just comes down to preference. The Chilled Butterbeer has a very rich butterscotch taste- similar to a crème soda. For those who don't have much of a sweet-tooth definitely go with the Frozen Butterbeer! The foam is very think and has a pleasant sweetness- it will definitely leave you with a foam mustache too! The cost for a chilled or frozen is $6.50 each, or you can get a souvenir mug (plastic) that grants you free soda refills around the park, costing $12. Honestly, if you are not a big Harry Potter fan the drinks may be over-hyped and over-priced, but for the fanatic out there, this is the drink of champions!! read more

Great place for an ice cold beer and butterbeer! We happened to find out about this place while talking to one of the staff working the butterbeer cart outside. He said we would be able to get some real beers and butterbeer at Hog's Head with basically no line! There was only one or two people ahead of us both times we stopped by. The bartender let us know that they had three beers exclusive to Hog's Head! Of course we had try try them all. The three were Hog's Head Red Ale, Dragon Scale Scottish Ale, and Wizard's Brew Stout. I wasn't feeling very stouty that day and didn't really care for that... I liked the Hog's Head the best. They will let you switch your beer if you don't like it, but you have to do it before you leave the counter. They offer the regular and frozen butterbeer here and also have the souvenir mugs! I got the frozen butterbeer in a souvenir mug. It was really sweet and reminds me of butterscotch. This place is connected to the Three Broomsticks, which is a restaurant. There's a ton of tables that have "reserved" on them. I think for the Three Broomstick customers... but we found some tables without them and sat there to relax and sip on our drinks. I would definitely come back here for beer and to try the regular butterbeer the next time I'm here... which will probably be in the fall. read more

I visited there on a cold day, so I tried the warm butterbeer from Hog's Head Pub. It tasted pretty good as it is but made a whole lot better with a shot of Jameson. It's expensive tho $6 for butterbeer and $12 for 1oz of whisky so my small size drink became $18. Cashier lady told me "Well, welcome to Hog's Head" as I was paying lol I wish they have a menu somewhere so we don't have to ask bunch of questions to find out options and cashier person don't have to explain everything every time to every guests. So here ya are in Harry Potter's world and hey, you're an adult? Throw a shot of cinnamon whiskey in just about any drink here or even your mouth, who cares?! Personally, my favorite is the Strongbow Cider (apple and alcoholic, practically a health juice) with a big ole shot of Firewhiskey (the Harry Potter fireball equivalent). I'm a lightweight so this usually hammers me out. Word to the wise: don't drink one of these then go on the Forbidden Journey ride... just trust me on this. I asked the barmaid what else is good and she suggested adding a shot of cinnamon into the butterbeer. They won't do it for you (something about the branding etc W/E) but they'll sell you both. I'm a sucker for cinnamon and they whiskey cuts through the sweetness and it ends up tasting like a red hot or a hot tamale candy. I only tried it in the frozen butterbeer, I'm sure it's just as good in the non frozen one. Yeah it's pricey but it's an ~experience~ and I'm a Harry Potter nerd turd. "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good"--this aptly describes the attitude of those working within Hog's Head Pub in Universal Studios: Hollywood earlier this month. After reading the great reviews and seeing the pictures of their food, I was really excited to try this place. Also, my wife is English and we love traditional English recipes. Let's keep in mind this is a very busy restaurant inside an amusement park. There were three lines before we sat down to eat. I ordered the Sunday steak (rib eye) with a salad and my wife had their shepherds pie and sticky pudding. When we were picking up our food, my plate had roasted potatoes even though I had asked for mashed potatoes. I pointed it out to the employee. She rolled her eyes and asked the kitchen to correct it. I didn't appreciate her attitude/body language (5 points from Gryffindor). Then, after waiting in the third line, we were directed toward an available table outside where it was quieter. Once seated, the first thing I did was cut into my medium well done steak...I had asked for medium rare. Then, I tried the salad and realized there was some kind of coarse substance in my mouth: dirt. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the lettuce had not been washed. "You've got dirt...just there" is iconic when Hermione says it--not when I'm telling someone about food I plan to digest. Then, I tried the bread. It was doughy on the inside--they didn't cook it long enough. At this point, my dining experience had been completely ruined. The only thing I enjoyed was the mashed potatoes. My wife said her shepherds pie was ok and her sticky pudding was not soft like it was supposed to be. She may be a muggle, but she's an English muggle who knows English food. Perhaps some lingering Voldemort sympathizer cast a spell on the kitchen staff that day. It sure felt that way because our meal was terrible and I won't need a Pensieve to remember this experience. read more

First, I visited this place when it was not very busy at all. I did not line up for any of the Harry Potter rides so that gives you an idea. Unfortunately there was a long line at this place but it did not take long to get to the ordering station. I do not think that will be the case when it is in the peak hours so if you are going during the peak time, be prepared to line up n wait Second, British styled foods on the menu. I love British foods when it is done right. I ordered the frosted butter beer which tasted like vanilla milkshake, a beer, ribs , fish and chips. They all tasted ok. Nothing amazing... the chips are more like potato wedges. The fish batter is crisp but under seasoned. Barbecued ribs are moist but also under seasoned. French fries should be improved. Third, the decor is great. For a theme park food, it isnt so bad. I was going to order the cottage pie but they looked like store bought, pre-made so I decided to go for the fish and chips. I would definitely want to see more fresh vegies and green leaves on their menu. The bar just before the exit area is where I would hang out if I want to just grab some cold beer and enjoy the Harry Potter themed pub. Overall, worth the visit but not worth re-visiting for their foods. read more

This is my favorite place to rest and relax when touring Hogsmeade. My husband and I like to share a frozen butterbeer (though they serve regular butterbeer and hot versions here as well). The nice thing about ordering a butterbeer here versus from the cart outside is that you can also get a free glass of ice water. Beats the $5 gillywater (aka bottled water) any day. Either way, the pub is open for sitting, resting, and enjoying the hog's head, behind the bar. I found the one here to be more active than his Orlando cousin. You can sit inside or outside here, and you can also sample brews specially made for the pub and not available anywhere else, not even the Three Broomsticks! I also overheard someone order a warm butterbeer with a shot of firewhisky... you can really get crazy here! ;) Note that at lunch time, a lot of the pub's seating will be used for overflow from the attached Three Broomsticks eatery. read more

We were able to feed 10 here for lunch. The spread was awesome. We got the platter for four and then 3 main dishes, the roast, the shepherd's pie and fish and chips. That fed 3 adults, 4 teens and 2 children perfectly! The food was plentiful and so delicious! We were very happy with the food but the service was also awesome! If u come early in the day challenge he line moves really fast. However 2 hours prior to closing staff members stop caring and there's only one at the register despite the line being out the door. I really like how they put the Hog's Head in Hogsmeade :) It is a great addition to the Wizarding World attraction, and it provides a space for adult visitors to get their drink on and enjoy some of the lovely HP-specific concoctions. Unfortunately, after visiting twice during this tech rehearsal period, I have yet to try Firewhisky. I was told by the bartender that they will have it when the Wizarding World of Harry Potter officially opens on April 7th. Until then, butterbeer, pumpkin fizz, and a few other drinks will have to suffice. Let me explain that neither Butterbeer nor Pumpkin Fizz is alcoholic. But both are excellent, and Pumpkin Fizz is only $4! The Hog's Head also carries a number of great beers on tap, including the ever-popular Boddington's Creamy Ale. Their flagship ale is delicious, and comes out with an amber-gold color to it. It tastes delicious, and it carries a velvety smooth mouth feel akin to Murphy's. I can't remember all the Beers they have available, but this is a great spot to check out. Behind the helpful cheery bar staff is a huge Hog's Head -- and it moves! The seating inside is limited, and it links to the Three Broomsticks, but there is also plentiful outdoor seating. No food here as far as I can tell, you'll have to go next door for that. read more

This is a great place to eat in the park, especially if you're visiting the Harry Potter area. The food is reasonably priced and is good quality- we had the ribs and chicken. The meat was soft and not dry at all, and there was a good amount of food to keep us full. The service was nice as well and very organized. Once you order and pick up your food, you wait to be seated by someone who will help you find an open table for your party- none of the struggle of looking for a table in a busy theme park! Located on the side of the Three Broomsticks, this bar offers you adult beverages to enjoy the rest of your Hogsmeade adventures. I ended up ordering a butterbeer with a shot of cinnamon whiskey to make it dirty. Though they can't pour the alcohol and mix it together, they allow you to do so in the bar area. Let's start off with the dining experience. Went in about 2p, not a huge line and the food was above average for theme park food. While the wives were getting the food, my friend and I snuck over to the bar. The bartender suggested Strongbow Apple Cider, and their house Fire Whiskey mixed together that created quite a tasty beverage. Then some little "Weasley" (ha ha), pulled the fire alarm halfway through our meal. The restaurant was evacuated of all muggles, so when all calmed down, the restaurant was nice enough to refund all of our money for dinner (along with many other guests as well). So as a good faith gesture, we reinvested all of our dinner money into those tasty beverages listed above. To be exact... 10 tasty beverages. Okay so this is where you get the Butterbeer...they sell it in two varieties...regular and frozen. Everyone thinks the frozen is better. If you want a collectible plastic beer mug then that is extra. They also have their own types of real beer which are micro-brewed especially for Universal. The Boar head on the bar is animated and makes fun noises. Be advises that the bar opens up to the inside of the 3 Broomsticks restaurant, so sometimes you might not find a seat because they will be all taken up by pattons eating their food. Lastly, this is a full bar so they make mixed drinks and have hard alcohol and bartenders as well...all we got was the beer so can't speak to the skills of the bartending staff. read more
