The theming for Moe's Tavern is pretty neat, complete with a life-sized Barney for a cute photo-op. The prices for a Duff, though, are yikes. At least you can upgrade to a souvenir plastic pilsner cup for only $2 (pretty annoying to stuff in a locker later on with your other stuff, so be mindful). We were allowed to walk around the park with the drinks, as well as queue up, provided we store the souvenir cup away with the finished drink when it was our turn. The Duff just tasted like any beer to an unrefined palate, and the sour tasted mildly better due as it was fruitier. The bartender was very nice and great with his recommendation when we explained our taste preference. You can walk to the Krusty Burger from inside, so it can make for a good combo in Springfield. While the theming is fun, I'm worried for its relevancy to today's generation, as well as the impending doom due to IP ownership. With licensing rights expiring in the near future, I'd try to enjoy the area while it's still possible. read more

Theming and ambiance is top tier here. Looks straight out of the Simpsons series down to all of the details, the pool table, Barney at the side, and even the iconic phone that Bart does prank calls on. It's in the middle of 2 other Springfield eateries (Krusty Burger and Cletus'), so if you can find seating there, you can try the other restaurants since they're all connected. Super cool that it looks exactly like Moe's Tavern on the outside as well. Pretty surreal to open the doors and enter what is a real life version of the series' location. My boyfriend got the Duff beer here in a collectible hard plastic glass. Service is efficient and the drinks come out fast. Aside from I think chips, there's not really food here. Mostly alcohol. He said it tastes like generic beer, but you're there for the theming, nostalgia, and such and not the quality I feel. Definitely worth going to and looking at all of the details as a fan! read more

Moe's Tavern is located just next to the Krusty Burger. In fact you can gains access to it via Krusty Burger after you've purchased food. I was here for one thing and one thing only and that was a, Flaming Moe. Unlike the Simpson's episode where Homer created this boozy drink with a base of grape cough syrup and a handful of other liquor; this was just orange Fanta with dry ice. The coolest part is the cup you get to keep after. I was a little let down that this was just orange soda and no booze, but the novelty was still fun and my kids loved the prank phone call phone at the bar. I paid $10 for the drink and yes, this is expensive, but that's to be expected at an amusement park. read more

So much fun!!! You feel like you are actually in Moe's Tavern and whether you are a Simpson's fan or not it is a really cool experience. There are typically two bartenders working and they are cool, move through the lines fairly quickly and make some really good drinks. There is a decent amount of seating (we usually see people grab their food from one of the nearby places and a drink and sit in here). A love meter game, Barney with a beer that is fun to take a pic with, and a pool table and juke box (neither work just décor). Love the pay phone by the bar with the Isotopes sign above too. Moe's is pretty much a full service bar but the set up has fake bottles for show (even a phone you can pick up, no spoilers but make sure you check it out when you go). One of our favorite bars at Universal for sure! read more

As far as theme park fare goes, this is a solid choice if you're feeling like a nice drink in an air conditioned (and super well-themed) spot! We are big Simpsons fans, so this had to be one of our first stops at Universal. The theming was excellent with the exterior looking exactly like it does in the show. The inside was even better, having tons of fun Simpsons/Moe's memorabilia, like the Love Tester machine, a picture of the Be Sharps barber shop quartet, and a jukebox with a bunch of songs from the show. As far as drinks go, we got a Duff Beer obviously, and also a Flaming Moe (non alcoholic). The beer was similar to Heineken in flavor and super cold and refreshing, and the Flaming Moe was citrusy and came in a little cup (that you got to keep!) with dry ice that made it flame and smoke. I'd say if you're at Universal and you're a fan of the Simpsons, definitely make a pit stop here for a drink or two, and to see the cool theming! read more

I seriously did not know this place existed. I resisted spoiling myself and had no clue that Universal Studios even had a Simpsons area, so imagine my shock, surprise, and excitement when I, an avid Simpsons fan discovered this place during a trip to Universal Studios with friends! If you're no fun at all and like to poo-poo everything, this place is kind of an overpriced restaurant that sells alcohol and novelty meals whose quality don't justify the prices. If you're a Simpsons fan, it's an awesome recreation of Moe's Tavern with life-sized Simpsons characters standing around, and all the Springfield-y food & drink you'd want to order (except for the Flaming Moe, which to my dismay was apparently discontinued). The drinks accidentally fell 5 minutes after we bought them and they made us pay for new ones. They said that they're strict about drinks and I had to bring an employee that witnessed it for them to remake them because there are some bad customers even he remembered us and he remembered what we ordered. Moe's Tavern is the hit at Universal. We had a blast being able to snag DUFF and our favorite cocktails. Charles was behind the bar and offered us service with a smile and worked through the line with ease even through being the only one on shift. We really enjoyed the vibe here, but wish the pool tables were functional and not props. A working dartboard would be rad too, great spot hanging at Moes. I need to begin by saying I'm not a Simpsons fan. I don't hate the show, but it's also not something I ever find myself excited to sit down and watch. In fact, it is pretty low on the totem pole of TV excitement for me. I simply didn't grow up with it. So, given that, it probably should not surprise you that Moe's Tavern doesn't do much for me. I am sure the interior is familiar to Simpsons fans, along with all the inside jokes and tongue-in-cheek jabs. But ultimately this bar (I use that term veeryyy loosely) is often overcrowded, isn't situated in the best place, and serves mediocre beer. I hate to break it to you, but Duff beer is more hyped than it should be. The location, as I referenced, is not the best. Moe's is sandwiched between two other eateries, and it sits right in front of a heavily trafficked area. In fact, if I wanted a beer I would walk 10 steps across the street to the Duff Brewery Beer Garden. In the end, Moe's ends up being overflow seating for its two food neighbors. My advice? Grab a pint from The Hog's Head. Now that's a bar bursting with personality and charm :) read more

Definitely try the love handle test and answer the phone at the bar. They definitely check IDs as well, so have that in hand! It's basically orange soda with dry ice safely sealed on the bottom, which makes the drink look like it's "flaming." One of the coolest places for you to get a drink in any amusement park. The theming and decor in here is off the heezy! There's a pool table you can eat on, Simpsons wall posters, a free love tester machine (I rang up Casanova!) and Duff Beer and Flaming Moe's drinks! Duff Beer - Looked like Shock Top and considering the Shock Top tap is right next to it, know that you're at least getting a decent beer. Duff Lite - Looked like Coors Lite and considering the Coors Lite tap is right next to it... you are probably getting Coors Lite? Flaming Moe's ($8.99) - You can order this for your kids and they will think it's the coolest thing. It's an orange soda (tastes like Cactus Cooler) that is poured in a small plastic Flaming Moe's glass that makes the orange soda steam up (blocked off amount of dry ice at the bottom). Expensive for 6-8 oz of soda? Yes. But do you get to keep the cup? Yes. Drinks are of course more expensive than your average place, but with the beer you have the option of a plastic disposable cup or getting it in a collector beer glass which is only a few dollars more and a very cool souvenir. There's a huge Duff Beer can behind the bar, but that's not for beer... Inside the canister is a t-shirt. Thirsty? Get ready for an instant burst of Simpson's nostalgia. They re-create Moe's Tavern to immerse you into the Simpson's world and even serve the drinks on the show too. Well, the only two drinks I knew were Duff Beer and Flaming Moe's. I elected for the Flaming Moe's ($8.99) since I wanted to see if it really tasted like cough syrup and if they light it up on fire like on the show. Sadly, there were no flames used in the making of the drink (for obvious fire hazard reasons) and no "special" cough syrup recipe. But they attempt to mimic it as best they could by using a cup with two levels and dropping a piece of dry ice into it to emulate the out of control bubbles and fizz. It also emits a smoky feature too. The drink itself tasted like flat orange soda and was probably only half a cup for nine bucks. It was worth the experience, but only to try once. Also, LOTS of families like to rest here so expect to swipe those available tables as they come. They really need to wipe the tables though since they're very sticky. This was my favorite part of the day during my recent trip to Universal Studios! The REAL Moe's Tavern that has REAL Duff Beer on tap! How could you go wrong? If you need a break from the kids, or just want to get a slight buzz going, be sure to stop by. Choose from regular Duff or Duff Light from the bar that appears to transport you directly into the show. There's even a telephone at the end of the bar that plays Bart prank calls! For those that aren't of age to try Duff (and you better believe the bartender will check everyone's I.D.'s), get the Flaming Moe that's nonalcoholic instead! Though it was on fire when it appeared on the show, in real-life it's basically a bubbling orange soda.
