Sadly the food was so so. The Mac n Cheese was alright; 5/10 and I didn't care for the bacon bits in it. Real bacon made daily would be so beneficial for this Mac. The jalapeño potato salad and cornbread were recommended by the staff and those were both very tasty. 8/10. We also tried the wings and there were EXTREMELY dry and overcooked. 1/10. Service was great ordered on line and showed up 10 mins later, they had everything just about ready and even took some last minute changes. I've had their pulled pork before, which was good, and so I had similar expectations with other meats, however their brisket was dry and a little tough to chew. My 7 year old and I were doing laundry next door, and stopped into hog wild to use the bathroom. We decided to get a bite to eat to pass time waiting for laundry. We were NOT disappointed. My son is one who THINKS he likes spicy, but usually regrets it after. The young man who took our order was so kind and patient waiting for my son to make up his mind. He went with the teriyaki wings. After listening to my talkative son talk about how he likes spicy, the young man brought him a couple extra sauces to try out. Made my sons day! My first impression of a BBQ meal is the coleslaw. If you cannot make a great coleslaw, it's over. Hog Wild makes an excellent coleslaw. I want just the coleslaw right now! All the food was great! It's been the go to bbq spot. I have picked up food for my aunt's birthday party from here and it was a big hit! They don't do call ahead orders, but they are pretty quick when you order at the counter. The meat is pretty tender and just falls off the bone. I have the chicken, pulled pork, ribs, brisket, and sausage link. I also really enjoy their side dishes. There is this tanginess of the pasta salad that I appreciate. I also have had their jalapeño potato salad which has a great kick and crunchiness to it that balances out the softness of the potatoes. The coleslaw and corn bread were also on point. The sweet bbq and the spicy bbq sauces are fantastic. I actually bought a bottle of the sweet bbq. The prices are reasonable and the staff is great. We placed a large catering order for delivery in Fennville MI this past Saturday. Tim, Sue, and the whole catering team were great to work with. Austin was right on time delivering our order and very professional in setting everything up and checking on us before he left. We had the BBQ pork and chicken sandwiches with coleslaw, Mac and cheese, and potato salad sides. It came with serving utensils, plates and wrapped silverware. First off their coleslaw is super wet and purple...no one wants purple ass cabbage coleslaw. The pulled pork tasted like a premade Gordon food service pulled pork- very mushy and the bun was so wet from it fell apart. The Mac n cheese tasted only like the packaged bacon put in it. The corn cakes were okay with honey...they almost tasted like a undercooked sugar cookie. Ribs were burnt. We were so disappointed and had such high hopes for this place! I think we can all agree that BBQ in the North jus ain't the same as the South. Just like Chicago style pizza tastes better in the Windy City. With that said, there's no where in the North I'd rather go than Hog Wild to get my BBQ. I personally recommend just the pulled pork sandwich, but there really isn't a bad menu item. I've had the ribs, the brisket, the chicken, etc. I honestly love them all. The reason I get the pulled pork is because I just can't eat like I used to, so the portion is a bit more manageable. The best side in my opinion is the corn cake, but the baked beans are right up there. I usually pair the two. Put those two with the pulled pork and that's a mighty lunch right there! I come here once a month to get my fix but if my budget and diet allowed it I'd be here weekly. P.s. best seasonal item is the roasted turkey around harvest time. Oh boy. The BBQ sauces are great - but the buns were thick and pasty. They would be better toasted. They leave so much sauce in the meat that it's a mess to eat and makes the bun soggy. My husband ordered a meal with 2 sides and they asked what drink he wanted. He wasn't made aware that the soft drink doesn't come with a $15.99 meal (but it came with my sandwich combo). They charge an extra $2.99 for the soda with the meal, making it around $19 for one meal and $31 overall for a meal and a sandwich combo....too expensive overall. read more

So grateful! We were one family of hundreds in town for graduation ceremonies and for Tulip time in Holland. We knew that dinner plans would be difficult for our large family given the large amounts of people and demand for food. We picked up a couple pounds of the pulled pork and shredded chicken with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. We heated up the food after the ceremony and enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing dinner. This place was in the Top 10 list for Michigan Bbq. I ordered the 3 meat platter. I got a Rib, Pulled Pork, and Beef Brisket. It came with 1 side and a Corn Cake. I got Pork & Beans as the side and got an extra side of Applesauce. The simple answer is all 3 meats were Great. I would eat here any time I'm in the area. The Pork & Beans were well below average. However adding some bbq sauce picked them right up and made them good. The Applesauce was exceptional. One of the top 5 I've ever had. Lastly the Corn Cake was awesome and restored my love of corn bread. Overall this was a 4 1/2 star bbq joint. Since I have to round and it wasn't perfect I'll give 4 stars. While I did love the bbq it's not as good as Slows in Grand Rapids. Top notch though. One last thing. Good job on good bbq sauces. read more
