Scam alert! I ordered lake perch and could tell immediately when I opened the take out container that it was ocean perch. Lake perch tastes and smells mild while ocean perch is far more fishy. I was craving wings so I ordered Mike's Wings on Uber Eats for delivery during the quarantine. I was very satisfied with the food! I'd never tried Mike's Wings before but I'll definitely order from there again. I got a 12 piece traditional wing combo (comes with fries and a drink), 1/2 lb ocean perch, and some sauces. Unfortunately the drink was missing from the order, as well as one of the sauces - which was a bit of a bummer considering I paid for those items, but I still gave a big tip and good ratings on Uber Eats. The wings were piping hot and a good size - not massive but not tiny. I got half sweet and spicy sauce and half buffalo, and really enjoyed both sauces. The sweet and spicy tasted like a BBQ sauce. There were half flats and half drummies, which was perfect for sharing with my boyfriend as I like the flats and he likes drummies. The fries were decent, similar to McDonald's fries and not super fresh, but still edible. The perch was super crispy and hot! If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Buyer beware, this place charged me almost 60$ dollars for two 6-whole wings combo when their website lists it as $14.95 each. When I spoke to the owner, Mike, about it, he said the menu pricing on-line is wrong and he wouldn't not honor the price. At best, he said he would give me a 10% discount. Unbelievable. If I could give zero stars I would. I placed an order, paid and tipped online. I got to the restaurant to pick up the food. After waiting patiently in line for the person in front of me to place their indecisive order, I get my food to find out that they no longer offer the drink I ordered. Bummer but oh well. Instead of being difficult I told them to just keep the money for the drink. (Almost $3 for a Koolaid.) But asked for an extra tarter sauce instead. I was to NO as the fish already comes with 1. I mentioned the $3 that I just gave them for not taking a drink or asking for a refund. Again was told no it already comes with 1. And then told to have a nice day! Really that's how you handle that? If 1 tarter sauce was that detrimental to the business financial state he could have refunded the Koolaid and charged the $.50 and keep the rest as an extra tip! I ordered online. 2 sets of 25 boneless wings 4 different flavors both with extra large fries each seasoned with different seasonings. 4 ranch, 2 blue cheese, fried pickles and 1/2 lb of gizzards with mild sauce on the side. Not at all a bad price, IF the food would've been correct, or at least tasty. The order took an hour instead of the 20-35 minutes I was quoted. When I finally got it, it was missing the pickles amd both orders of fries, so we had to wait longer for those. This place has a ton of fried options and is open late. Of course we picked it for chicken wings. I did feel it was expensive for mediocre quality wings. We ordered 25 boneless wings (I've since decided traditional are the way to go) and 4 mozzarella sticks We paid almost 40$. (I did not realize they charge you 0.75 per each sauce you pick. ) We picked four sauces, raspberry pepper, spicy garlic, honey BBQ and sweet red chilli. The raspberry pepper was sweet, without much pepper taste in it. Honey BBQ was overpowering with sweetness as well. The other two sauces were good, my favorite being the spicy garlic. Unfortunately much of the "wings" were just fried batter and very little meat. mozzarella sticks did not have much taste and did not come with marinara sauce. They don't label different flavors so you don't know which ones which. The wings were kind of hastily thrown in a box with parchment paper separating them. Our family loves Mike's Wings! We have been going to his place since they opened up a few years ago in attempts to give as much business as possible to a locally owned establishment. My son's 12 piece Buffalo Ranch basket was piping hot with lots of sauce. Every drum stick was good sized which really surprised us when compared to the dinky ones served at other chain restaurants. My 12 piece boneless Mild was just right while my wife's vegetarian order of mushrooms and pickles were lightly battered and tasty. This place has become my son's friends "place to go"--they are already planning on all eating there once the pandemic is over (they even have a group chat coined after Mike's!!). After reading the reviews I knew there were two things I wanted... Honey BBQ wings and Fried Cauliflower. Either the guy didn't hear me or they were out... but alas, no fried cauliflower :( Guess I'll have to go back and try again. The wings I got were traditional... got a 9 piece without fries (1/2 lb of fries is too much for me)... got 1/2 Honey BBQ and 1/2 Kings Sweet and Spicy. The Kings sweet and spicy is closer to a sweet BBQ without much of a kick. The Honey BBQ was nice. The wings came out crispy fried, and soaked in sauce. The best one is the location on Ann and Monroe. They fry the chicken till it's crispy and put the perfect amount of sauce and seasoning. Supposedly if you ask for them a certain way, I believe it's "whole," they will put a light breading in them (like Hooters) before the wings are fried. When the driver showed up there was only two orders of wings and she said that all that there was up to get was two orders of wings so I called Mike's Wings to sort this out and I was put off like I wasn't anything and it didn't bother him at all and it must be something to do with Uber when in fact it had to do with the me using another coupon that I had through Uber that had nothing to do with them so they didn't do the buy one get one free . Mike's Wings is a solid wing joint. It is not fancy by any means, but they produce consistently good wings and sauce. I may be a bit biased here because it is within walking distance. However, the service is always quick and friendly. I typically call in my order and go to pick it up. The wait is typically never longer then 20 min. I am not a huge hot wing fan, so I gravitate towards the garlic jerk or garlic parmesan sauces. What I love is that there are lots of garlic chunks in the sauce which make it delicious. You can get out of there with 6 to 9 wings for around 10 bucks, which I like too. They have other things on the menu, but I only come for the wings. Very hit or miss! It's been really good or really mediocre when some of the wings have been completely overdone and dry. Overall we love the honey barbecue, buffalo, Caribbean jerk and garlic Parmesan and get a mix of bone in and boneless. The onion rings here are always bomb as a side! After calling on about five different occasions to place an order for delivery and receiving the same answer, "Our delivery guy isn't here tonight," I finally asked which nights they had a delivery person.
