There's not much going on in Waycross to take out-of-town friends to, but for food, this Hog-n-bones is worth a stop. I don't think I've ever had food I was disappointed in. The food was decent and service was quick, Its not real BBQ in my opinion since there is no smoke house on site but cant complain to much. The Pulled Pork Salad was pretty good and quarter chicken was good. I would choose this place again as a fast food option definitely. read more

This is for the Jesup location. I was worried because I took a chance and went through the drive through. The cashier had many cold sores on her mouth so I made sure I washed my hands before eating. I'm going to have to disagree with all of the negative reviews. The place is very nice, it's clean, the staff was very friendly and the food was good. The cashier taking our order was very friendly and helpful with the menu. I ordered the brisket & rib basket, with Mac n cheese and baked beans. The brisket was delicious and the ribs were juicy and flavorful. The beans were mediocre but the Mac n cheese tasted homemade. The sweet tea was perfect and highly recommended. Seems harder than you'd think to find a "sit down" place for breakfast in Valdosta that's not fast food. Hog-N-Bones first timer. Things to know-it's a walk up to the counter and order. But-the prices were great and so was the food and coffee. Politely greeted at the counter and quickly took our order. You get a number for the table and they bring your food to you. It was hot and tasty. I had the small platter, 2 scrambled, ham, biscuit and grits w/cheese. Dad had the same but over easy, ham, biscuit and potato rounds. He had been there before and didn't like the "toast" being buttered bread from grill? Told him to order the biscuit and that was fine. Coffee was hot and the server was attentive, polite, and kept us topped off. I'd go there again and look forward to eating lunch or dinner there. Went in for breakfast.Placed order at 921. At 1000 still no food. The table next to us got their food AND an apology for the wait 15 minutes after they sat down. We went and got a refund. As we were leaving they told us our food was ready. No telling how long it had sat getting cold. Said no thanks and went somewhere else. Been through the drive through and always seem to get order wrong. They won't take drive through orders on some items. If you want a omelet you'll have to go inside and wait forever. Also,check your order before you leave the counter or window. They have a habit of leaving items out (or getting stuff wrong). read more

Great breakfast and quick. The bacon bowl is their awesome smoked bacon mixed with grits you throw an egg and cheese into that and call it a day. It was AWESOME. It was the perfect start to the day. I ordered the 1/4 smoked chicken with sweet potato soufflé and cole slaw. The food is delicious and the staff was friendly. Lost 2 stars for 2 reasons: no beef and after telling the cashier that I didn't eat pork, she suggested the green beans (loaded with pork pieces) - when the green beans came and I noticed it, they changed it out for cole slaw with no issue. Not sure what the reason is for not having any beef, but Brisket is what I was looking forward to....so don't stop in if that's what you too are looking for....other than that, the food I did get was good and the staff all had smiles on their faces. read more

First time here on January 7 was the day the new building opened. What a nice facility and the food is very good also. My co-worker and I both had the pulled pork basket with two sides. I thought the pork had nice flavor and tenderness. The mac n' cheese was very good, but the sweet potato soufflé was possibly the best I've ever eaten. I had contemplated going for another serving, but opted to not overdue it. My co-worker though his beans and potato salad were also very good. They also have a nice assortment of sauces, four, to choose from. My personal favorite was the golden. If you're looking for way overpriced dry BBQ in Georgia this is the place to go several years ago it was fairly decent but I took my dad there last night when we were in Waycross and for 20 bucks we ended up getting three ribs each that were about 3 inches long and 2 child size portions of side dishes. The lady who brought out our food did not even bring out the silverware to eat the side dishes with her meals I proceeded to get up and ask for the silverware and she refused to give me two bags of silverware so I ended up having to share the silverware with my dad. Disappointed. The restaurant looks clean and inviting, but the food was disappointing. I ordered the sampler plate. The pork was dry and ribs were tender, but lacked flavor. Sides were just ok. I don't think the meat is cooked on site because it doesn't smell like bbq at all when you walk in. That should have been a clue the food wouldn't be good. I'm a local fan of this place- always have been always will be. The new building is very clean and has a great southern charm to it. The entire staff is as friendly as they can be, and anything you need, they'll get It for you. Whole menu is full of great food, including signature barbeque and delicious sides like cole slaw and baked beans. Just add a little of their barbeque sauce and you've got yourself a treat! P.S.- Best sweet tea in all of South Georgia, and that's sayin somethin! For food as good as this, you would think it would come at a high price. Wrong. We were traveling to the area to see some sites in the area and read about hog-n-bones on yelp. We ordered ahead and the meals were ready for pickup when we arrived shortly thereafter. We ordered a half slab of ribs and pulled pork. The sides were the green beans, macn cheese, coleslaw and barbequed neans. All sides wrere great! we used the drive through and all went smoothly.
