This is one of the few locations that have a free vacuum. I didn't even know till 3 years ago that car washes offered this service. I had a free car wash coupon from years ago that I used to wash one car and then ended up using the free vacuum for the other car. The car needed a good clean, and it took longer than anticipated. They usually close the location at 8pm and my utilization of the free vacuum went beyond that time period. I'm not sure if they were nice and let me finish up or if they never turn off. It's a great value if you want to just get an exterior wash and clean it inside by yourself. read more

I went to drop my car to get detailed. First on the website it says $30 for express interior cleaning he tells me they're "44" when i pull my car in. okay cool whatever. i go to the waiting room, in 10 minutes theyre like you're car is done... i said wow that was fast. went to my car, cup holders haven't been cleaned shift nob wasn't touched, nothing was dusted or wiped and there was still cake fronting on the dash. i politely told them, and they took it back. 2 minutes later "it's done". now I as a professional would take that time to double check my work. nope. went back to my car it was still dirty. i asked for a rag cleaned it myself and left. I will NOT be going back. $44 for a half ass vacuum and every seat to be left with wet rag streaks. 0/10 read more

My wife gave me a gift certificate for my birthday to have my car detailed, so I came to this location. I made an appointment several weeks in advance, but they said they do walk-ins as well. It was supposed to take 3 to 3.5 hours. The process took 2.5 hours in which I waited in a small waiting room. It was interesting to hear the staff discuss how many days were left for some of the beverages they offer before they expire (2 days!). When one person said that 44 people had come in that morning, another's response was "I can't believe that there are that many stupid people." Again, just casual observations during my wait there. They might want to remember that people do sit in their waiting room section. The interior detailing ($180) doesn't include an exterior wash. I have no idea how rates compare to anywhere else. They did a great job though. My car looks wonderful inside. On the downside, it was raining all weekend and my car is still damp and smells of cleaner. I need to roll down the windows and let it air out, but I can't until we get a rain-free day (or get a garage). I am not sure if this is normal, but they warned me of it. I mean, it's an automated car wash that is new, seems thorough, and comes for free with Hoffman Jiffy Lube oil changes. Not sure what some of these other reviewers are hoping for? I'm a "let's just run through the wash" kinda person myself. It was pretty simple to redeem my free wash and the staff helped me get my car on the track without an issue. There are also free vacuums. I come here because they have the 2 for 1 ultimate car wash which is great because I have hard use of my vehicle between work and kids. However, many times I come there is always something dirty. What I expect from ultimate is really clean carpets, clean mats and clean dashboard and console between the front seats. After my car cleaning yesterday I went out and bought car wipes to clean my dash and console. I understand if you don't do cup holders. But if you are going to do one, do the other! The price is high and the bar is low for Albany car washes. Hoffmans is busy because the competition is even worse. Exterior wash & dry runs $15-$25 depending on the options. Consistently incomplete hand-towel drying leaves soap and streaks every single time. This is a big problem in below-freezing weather when doors and windows freeze shut. I tried tipping for a better drying job, but it doesn't help...workers don't appreciate it at all because all cash gets divided evenly among all workers minus income taxes. They don't even say thank you. They are smart to place the friendly employees at the start of the process and grumpy folks down the line after you are stuck in the process... When busy, they speed up the machine and rush the cars through. A lot. This always leaves my Jeep soapy and dirty so I have to drive all the way around route 2 roundabout, make 2 lefts, wait in line again, explain the problem, and go through a second time. And I don't even bother with interior cleaning or "detailing" anymore. Disappointing results every time... read more

You really get just the most basic of jobs whether it's any type of exterior wash or the express detail service. Cleaning is quite superficial and they never adequately dry your vehicle, so you'll always have water spots and streaks. Why are they so busy? No effective competition. Until someone perfects effective, affordable mass production car washing, places like this will continue to thrive. This review isn't directed specifically at this location. I have been using Hoffman car wash for years and years. For the past year, I have been having some issues. Whenever I drive up to the unlimited members line, it tells me that my pass expired (even though I pay for it monthly.) And then a worker takes my debit card and puts it through, doesn't even tell me what they are doing really and then sends me on my way. And then I look at my bank statements and I see they double charged me for that month. And then I need to call the customer service number and sit on the phone on and off of hold for 45 minutes and tell me that "it's all fixed" just for it to happen to me again the next month. And that exact scenario has happened to me FOUR times. No, I don't have a different debit card number it's always been the same. I love the convenience of the car wash but the billing system, workers, and customer service people really need some help. I'm really almost ready to just cancel and start using some other car wash. read more

Nice interior cleaning skills...Every stain and piece of grime I expected to be removed during an express "deatil" was still there. Cofee spots on the wood inlays, dirt on the seats, crumbs in the seams and mud smears still on the doorjams. 1st time here. 2012 chevy cruz (GF car) wanted to surprise her with an interior detail package $160.00. Had an appointment at 2:30pm (arrived 2:28) i made sure to remove all paperwork. Was quoted it will take 3 to 3hr 30mins... Took 4hours 45mins. (car wasnt that dirty but I took my dog to the vet and needed to clean up all the fur but I work 50+ hours so screw it $$) They never cleaned the glove box.... I removed all the paperwork but the hand lotion goo was still there and dust..... (sigh) but that didnt piss me off as much how long it took... 230pm drop off, i walk around till 5pm ask is it almost ready, was told 6pm it will be done... Had to walk accross to bobs discount furniture to tell gf to meet me so no surprise. She gets out at 5:30pm, she walks over and It reaches 6pm... Still not done. The car wasnt ready till 6:50pm. I only asked 3 time how much longer but the person at the counter (Emily) told management something in the form that I didnt want to wait anymore. I asked at the time I arrived, was told it should of been finished & 6:15pm.... SEATS SOAKING WET GLOVE BOX NOT EVEN TOUCHED BACK WINDOW INTERIOR FABIC WASNT TOUCHED Now I question if I want to do the exterior and interior package after this experience on my own honda civic and it needs it 10x more than my gf car lol. I think this is a very decent car wash in the area, probably not be the best, but I'll definitely go back again or even be a regular customer for the reasons below. First of all, they have friendly and knowledgeable staffs. I was impressed how many workers were working there even first thing in the morning when they just opened. They explained to me the differences between each service well, and provided me with information on the additional options I have. Secondly, since they have so many staffs, they made my visit very efficient. I got a full service for interior and exterior cleaning, there were multiple people working on my car at all times, which really sped up the process. They had my car vacuumed first in the bay before they send it off for the car wash in the tunnel. Last but not least, I just want to mention the quality of the car wash. I think overall they did a good job. The interior vacuuming was fine, and they wiped down the door sills nicely. However, they didn't dry the car very well. There were some wipe marks on my windshield, and they didn't wipe down my rear view mirrors. The car came out clean otherwise. read more

Hoffman car wash is simply the worst car wash I have driven through. They have a monopoly in the capital district. I went for the ultimate package with a five dollar tip. The exterior clean was marginally better than what the automated touch less bays do, only because they kids did dry the car pretty well. The interior job was a joke and is really just a very quick vacuum job and half assed Windex treatment. To add insult to injury the whole thing took about 25 minutes. I can do a better job myself in half the time at a self service bay. I can only really recommend a Hoffman's car wash if it's freezing outside and you are incapable of washing the car yourself. The only pro I can think of is that they do employ a ton of kids with their part time minimum wage jobs. Bottom line: It's a terrible car wash, but Colonial is only marginally better and touchless bays are weak. read more

Just got my car detailed the other day and by far the best customer service was given by this adorable blonde girl with glasses whom was super enthusiastic and helpful! To top it off a gentleman who was off his shift still offered to walk me across the wet bay to get to the detail area to pick up my vehicle that looked brand new inside!!! Thank you! read more

I went with that as I figured it would be useful in the upcoming snowy months - regret that decision. Pure waste of my money. For $25 plus tip cause you don't see the condition of your car until after you're in it and being rushed out of the parking lot to make room for other cars. My windows are all streaky, the gunk from my oil change sticker is still on the window therefore indicating that it wasn't even touched or attempted to be cleaned off, streaks of old towel are all over the interior and my leather wasn't even wiped down. Instead of having your staff rush through cars, they should be instructed to complete their job thoroughly and put the customers money to good use. Poorly ran business. read more

Since they're the only place in town, you are at their mercy. Really too expensive for what you get. The exterior washes have all been ok, my gripe is with the lazy kids who "dry" the cars: even with inside and out, the windshield is given a careless once-over. The moon roof is never touched, anything else these kids touch is just done in a half-assed manner. If you've been to the Latham location, you know that your car is facing directly into the sun in the afternoon and you don't see the lousy windshield job until after you've pulled out of the lot. Too late to rectify! (and they know it) The teenage kids are too busy chatting with their friends, there is no adult supervision to keep them on task. I stopped tipping them a long time ago. Buh-bye, Hoffman's. BTW, I've been to several full service car washes in Florida and for $8, you get inside and out, windows, vacuuming and all. Why is this car wash 4x the price you may ask???? I have been to Hoffman's twice in the last two weeks, once to clean the car I was trading in and once to wash my new car and vacuum sand/ mud out of it, long story. First visit I waited 45 mins on a Monday afternoon all lanes were being used it looked like a weekend. I told them wanted I wanted, I was offered two washes or one for $37. ! 37?? I said no thanks one is good. Waited longer while the it was vaccumed,Mats washed, ran thru the car wash. Watched group of young adults swarm around the cars, moving quickly but not doing much, no real effort. I watch as two young men get in And out of my car leave the doors open and walk away. I watch no one goes back so I walk over, 2 polite young ladies scurry over and tell me they need to do the inside. Ok I wait. They tell me they are finished, I tip them I get in my car. The door frame is still unwiped , the dash is dusty, the back of the front seats and back seats were not wiped down. I got out of my car looked for an employee grabbed a wet towel and started doing their job, I wasn't leaving until it was All wiped down. When one of them realized I wasn't moving my car they asked me what was wrong. Take a look and finish the job, he opened the back door and said ok and looked in. I said never mine I will finish it at home, which i did. The second visit was after we took our grandkids to a sugar house who put sand down on their drive to prevent people from getting stuck in the mud we had some sand/ mud in our new car, took it over and once again paid a ridiculous amount but had it cleaned and vaccumed . Vacuumed fine, wash great but even these time the door frames were not wiped down and mats still had a little mud on them but was happy overall. Will not be returning anytime soon. I grew up 22 years in Latham and have been in California for the past 22. When visiting, my husband and I borrowed my brother's car and thought it would be a nice gesture to get his car washed so we went over to Hoffman's. What a ripoff and these guys hardly took ANY effort! For $37 or so dollars we had the exterior washed which was ok but the interior was a joke!!!! They didn't vacuum the seats and the interior doors, dash etc. had crumbs and dust left. They did not do a thing!!!! Don't waste your time or money at this car wash! Some advice for the workers there, have some work ethic and actually care about your job or at least care somewhat about the people you are serving. Disgusting. read more

This place used to be great when I lived in the area but I recently came back to visit the area and wanted to get the splattered bugs off my windshield and grill so I went to Hoffman's circle car wash. Everything started ok but then after I paid for inside and outside one young guy started signaling me to pull into the car wash so I asked him when do they clean the inside and he looked confused so I told him that I paid for both inside & outside he then says oh ok well we need to do that first...Smh...at the end I noticed my car parked but no one was around it to dry it. So I walk over to inspect and see water still on the car and no tire dressing on the wheels. I ask a young guy who was closevif my car was done & he said yes. I then ask him about the tire dressing & he proceeds to wipe my tires down with a rag...I said where is the tire shine he looked confused and said this is my 1st day. I told to ask someone & they came over to dress my tires. The quality of service has declined a lot! read more

This full service car wash has been here forever. I never thought I would need to review a car wash, but there's a reason for that. I got the full service in/out wash with wheel cleaning for 26$ since it was getting real dirty. (Didn't bring any coupons with me) I got out of my car, and immediately went to the front to the cashier and paid. When my car was ready I noticed they didn't clean wheels very well. (I got me some deep dish 9 spokes on my ride). But hey the car was clean inside and out. But my sunglasses were gone. I checked the entire car and then went inside to tell the manager. They went through the tapes, and couldn't really see anything. The manager gave me a card of the relationship manager and told me to expect a call. Later on I got a call stating they found the sunglasses in the employee bathroom, and fired the guy who took them. I picked them up and got 3 free washes for my troubles. I ended up giving them to my friends as I will never go back after that experience. If you're gonna charge 26$ for a full service car wash, give me a free back scratcher, or at least do background checks on the employees for crying out loud. read more

When you purchase "Ultimate inside/outside with tires", you would think you would get a clean vehicle. I pulled in with a dirty jeep - I ended up leaving with a dirty jeep - I called it to an employees attention who told me that they don't clean the center console unless asked to do so - when I pointed out the dirt still left on the doors, the water left on the vehicle, the door jambs - I got the comment it looks better than it did" - can't say I'll go back, I came home and cleaned my jeep.... If you're selling the "Ultimate" wash stand behind it. read more
