Can't say enough good things about these guys! We recently rented 2 SUP surfboards (Titan and Piranha) from Wayne and they were fantastic! Setting up our rental beforehand was easy. Wayne sent me tons of info about the boards as well as recommendations for breaks to hit while we were on island. Once we showed up he helped get fin setup dialed in and gave us extra sets to try different setups. Boards surfed fun and great in small swell but felt like they would really rip on bigger waves. I went in to buy a SUP board as a birthday present to myself in September. I was really excited for it and was told that they needed to order it so I had to wait 3 weeks. I agreed and they took the full payment of over $1100. 3 weeks came and went and I heard nothing from this business so I messaged them just to check. Right off the bat, the person I was speaking to claimed he told me he said "end of October" and if I don't want it, I can get a refund. Combative off the bat. I never mentioned anything about a refund - I just wanted to know where the board was. Things went on like this, where I kept having to contact them about the progress of where the board was because they never ever updated me as a paying customer. Now, over two months later, I'm still out over $1144 and have no board! I asked for a full refund and again I was made to feel like I was being a nuisance. This entire experience was really disappointing and the customer service was awful. It's been close to 6 months since I've had my 10'2" Titan and I have not been disappointed. The board glides on the water when just cruising with no chop. The nose cuts through the waves easily when paddling out in the break. The dual concave bottom gives me some lift when surfing. Horrible boards. First board I got cracked with just over a year use. Probably cracked from tying on my truck tack. Wayne tried to repair it, but it was unrepairable. Wayne offered me a second board for $400 after I paid $150 for the repair. He told he he would get me a bag for it when one was available, been waiting over a year for it. I took it and it broke in less than a year. My wife wiped out and hit against her knee and it cracked. These boards are mass produced in China and I should've learned the first time. If you want a $900 board for really light use to paddle at a lake, please do buy these boards. Btw...if you end up damaging you board from here, don't take it back to Wayne to repair. Been wanting a paddleboard for a long time, and a friend recommended another place that was having a 50% off sale, which I later found out wasn't worth it. That's how I found Hoe Nalu. Their showroom doesn't really have a storefront, and is actually a small space in a warehouse, but don't judge a book by its cover. I found out about their promos through their website, which were way better than the "sale" going on at the other place. Wayne, who is co-owner, is a very knowledgable, patient guy who is willing to answer any questions, and from what I took, is just someone who wants to make a quality product everyone can enjoy, while still making it affordable. He gave great recommendations for boards based on my boyfriend and I's weights so we both could use it. My boyfriend also surfs so he took that into consideration as well. But what makes this purchase so worthwhile, apart from great customer service, is the add-ons once you buy one of his boards. They have an awesome package deal where if you buy a board, you also get a carbon fiber, adjustable length paddle, board cover, fins, grips, and a leash. And also a free paddle cover if you let Wayne take a picture of you with the board, lol. I forget the details on pricing if you want the rubber blade paddle or the carbon fiber one, but I'm sure Wayne will be happy to explain. They will also put a clear, protective coat on your board and put the grips on before you take it home. Wayne also taught me how to take the fins on and off and how to adjust them. This post is long overdue. I've had my board for about more than 2 weeks now and I've been using it almost everyday. I got to say I'm in love with my 9'4 Titan!!! First week, not so much waves on South Shore but I was still able to catch 1-2 ft swell and board turns on a dime. Past couple days, was out at Courts with chest to shoulder high waves. Oh man... this board rippppsss!! And I love the color (red and black). I got so many compliments already not just the looks but how it performs too! Anyway, this board is perfect size for me (im 6'0 215lbs). Its supppper stable even on choppy water. And I even took off late and caught a nice one. I am posting this about 6 months after purchasing a paddle board package. First, this board is extremely versatile (10'6"), I have taken it on long distance paddles as well as into head high surf and it performs very well. It is also very forgiving and tough, I have taken the board into shallow areas more than once and "encountered" some reef and all it shows is a few scratches. My husband and I have been wanting paddle boards for a long time but weren't able to find the perfect board with accessories for a good price. Found an ad for Hoe Nalu on Facebook and went down to check it out. The warehouse is a little hard to find but worth the trip. We went in 15 minutes before closing time and Wayne, co owner, helped us till well after closing time. He was extremely knowledgable and helped pick out the perfect boards for both of us. If you are unsure about purchasing, they allow you to take the board out for a trial run for $25 and then deduct that cost off the overall price of the board. We were 100% sure we wanted the boards so we didn't take part in the trial run, but I thought this was a great feature! I ordered a deep purple color and my husband went with the blue. They didn't have purple in stock but told me I could have my board as early as the next day. We went back the following day and Wayne went over everything with us. My husbands board had a small defect and the fin wasn't going on right so Wayne called and got us a new board within half an hour and he threw in 2 free paddle bags for the inconvenience. In the end we went with the complete package for each board and got 2 boards, 1 year warranty, 2 bags, 2 adjustable carbon fiber paddles, fins, leashes, and the 2 paddle bags for $2,000. Such a good company to work with!! We bought two boards and my husband took his right out despite the bad weather. He had a blast! Said the board was light and fast but still smooth and stable. I was excited to get mine out but saw a small crack in the nose before I started to load it up. Bummer but I called the shop and they said to bring it down and swap it out. Easy! Came down but they didn't have my exact board in stock, they offered to ship one back from another island or upgrade me to the bamboo board free of charge! I took the bamboo offer for sure!
