It used to be the home to hundreds of sugar workers back in the days when they used to grow cane in Wailua and Mokuleia. STORE: has all sorts of apparel, boards, wet suits. Dressing room is the bathroom. Hilarious art work scattered throughout the store. My favorite one was: LIVE FREE, DELETE INSTAGRAM. So funny. PRICE: standard pricing here, not much cheaper than the mall, but that's probably set by the vendor, for instance, men's Van's shirt $25.00, but still a good price, especially if it's a design you really want. RETURN FACTOR: Yes, for more shirts. Especially around XMAS time.

It is located in a house that has been converted into a retail shop. It is quaint and unassuming. It has some major brand inventory--but the majority of its stock is clothing and accessories of their own design. They have some designs that feature a "bridge" (a nod to the nearby bridge that crosses the Anahulu River), and some designs that feature a rooster (a wink to all of those feral chickens that you see running around). You can go to their website for online shopping--but the online shop does not have all of the items available in store. Sometimes I think the term "authentic" is overused nowadays; but the shop does feel "of a place".

If you're looking to do any water activities and don't have the gear, this is a great spot on the North Shore. I mostly come here to shop, they have all the best surf / beach brands. Which is great since most surf brands have closed down their physical locations. They have racks on racks of awesome swimsuits and clothes. I love looking through all of their surf competition shirts. I think the last time we bought a surf comp shirt we even got the matching poster for free! I also bought my short fins here and was able to find a really cute pair. The service here was super nice and helpful when looking for a pair of fins. Now I'm in the market for longer freediving fins and this is the spot I'm gonna check out the next time I'm in Haleiwa.

This location is rich with history, and it's befitting that this little antique shop is sitting in the middle of an area that goes back in time. I am old enough to remember the Waialua Sugar Mill burning cane back in the 90's as I drove to Mokuleia Beach and seeing black debris of flying burnt sugar cane drift across my car windshield, along with smoke. The mill closed down in 1996 then became abandoned over time, then opened back up with new shops and little local stores, like this one. It's a very tiny store, no bigger than a small studio, but has a variety of really nice antiques crammed with vintage Pyrex, glassware, clothing, Pan-Am bags, hat boxes, costume jewelry, and anything else you care to explore. The owner Etsuko is super friendly and we spent a while discussing vintage clothing, barware, jewelry and the finer things that were important in life in the days when things were meant to last and not fall apart after a season of use. Damo the office manager and Carl the owner worked with me to set up the specs on my custom order. Helped me to dial in a "realistic set-up" for my transitioning needs. Got my new custom board in 3 weeks! Wasn't sure what to expect since I'm dusting off the "kook" shell and working my way back into the line up. The board has been a gem! Helping me to remember what it was like to surf as a youngster grom back in the day. Ending up getting a "Fish Stick." Was the right transitional board for me. Carl and Damo, you called it! Mahalo! They also sell sea shells, pipes and some hand made jewelry as well. I come here for their acai bowls! I honestly believe they are the best on the island. They can be a bit pricey at $8.25 to start and it comes with bananas, granola and honey. You can add on additional fruit for a dollar and they have bees pollen as a topping as well. The size of the bowl is like a big ramen so you get a lot for your money. The staff is usually really nice, local folks. I love coming here after the beach on a hot day for my acai fix!
