In terms of the wings: the size for a $1/wing Monday special (starting at 20 wing orders) was great, but I wanted more buffalo sauce on my buffalo wings. The buffalo garlic parm mix was awesome (you can mix and match flavors), and the sweet heat was also 5/5. Please add a lemon pepper option! Service: 5/5 server was personable and attentive for my party of 9, no issues at all. Ambiance: for sports, this place is solid; there are a bunch of TVs, even one in the bathroom so you don't miss a single play! I put this in the Dive Bar category. A little hard to find. It's in the back of a small shopping center. The staff is super friendly and hustles the whole time. Plenty of TVs for a sports bar vibe. I saw a deck outside but the threat of rain kept us indoors. The food is what you want for a bar food menu. I had the Pub Burger with fries (Thurs special $15) it hit the spot. My wife went with the Horseradish steak wrap. She ate half and brought the rest home for lunch tomorrow. There was a decent Thursday night crowd. We got there an hour before the NFL season kickoff. A great local spot that's beloved by many. Located on the backside of the building with plenty of parking spots. We've been a few times for wings, burgers, and to simply grab a beer and watch some baseball. The atmosphere is always fun and the staff here will chat it up with you to make the experience even better. I wouldn't consider this a dive but a step up. Came in midday on a Tuesday, both the inside and outside patio were empty with ample seating for us to choose from. We sat outside and we were able to have my friend's dog with us. Our waitress brought her out some water which was very nice. They have both tables and high tops outside and inside. The patio is in the sun, most tables have umbrellas, and it is fenced in. I ordered the strawberry basil aperol spritz, to me it did not taste at all like an aperol spritz. It was a pretty and fun drink just wasn't what I was expecting. I got an orange crush after and it was strong and tasty. My friend ordered the passion mule which was sweet and fruity, I did not taste much of any ginger in it. For a snack we ordered the crab dip. The inside of the dip was cold, and the outside hot. It also came looking a little disheveled, which didn't change its taste it just appeared messy. Ive had lunch or dinner here several times and it's always been a good time, but I want to post a review specifically about our latest experience. I held my husband's 50th birthday celebration here this past weekend and I can't say enough how great of an experience it was! Josh was phenomenal to work as far planning and communicating with from beginning to end. Chef Chris, Taylor, and the rest of the staff were fantastic. The food was great and the service was 100%! We never waited for anything, and everyone was just so friendly and accommodating. The fall decor and cleanliness were pluses as well. My friends commented on the great service and variety of drinks. This place is by far the best casual eating and drinking, family-friendly place I have experienced. Everyone is very friendly. The regulars are the kind of people that will give up their seat to an older person. Very polite and sincere. The staff is more than accomodating, prompt and respectful. Miss Jenna is amazing, with a very caring personality. She'll make sure your visit is a happy experience. Miss Taylor, with her contagious smile is always a pleasure to deal with. We went for trivia night and had a lot of fun. Everyone was in a good mood and it was a nice environment. The food was to die for. The burger was sooooo delicious. Very interesting place to go to. It's a mixture of a dive bar and trendy urban bar. A lot of the menu items include honey, hence the name. I attended a coworkers retirement get together on the outside patio so only went inside to use the bathroom. Over all the food was good that I had. I tried the honey Buffalo wings. They were tasty and cooked until slightly crispy then soaked in their honey Buffalo sauce. The sweet and spicy was a good mixture. I also had a side order of fries. There were pretty standard breaded fries. Not much seasoning on them but not bad. Service was a bit slow. One of the people ordered a burger and it took 45 minutes for him to get it. I think the order got mixed up and they sent it to the wrong table. Over all it was a decent place to come after work. I would like to come back to try some of the other menu items. read more

Ordered carry out. When I went in I was ignored by all staff and bartenders. Finally when I asked for my food after waiting and being ignored I was told food wasn't ready yet. I saw two to go bags waiting on the counter but I just assumed they weren't mine. Finally after hearing nothing from anyone for about 15 minutes I finally went and asked another employee if they were mine. He checked and then just handed them to me and walked away, saying nothing. We had the Lobster Roll which was very tasty, the Jack Honey BBQ Pulled Pork (really, really good), the Big BLT and the Honey Old Bay wings left a little bit to be desired. The Big BLT's pork belly was good, but would have preferred some thick bacon. The wings had a nice flavor, but they were dry and over done. I want to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt during COVID-19. Many are trying to do curbside, which we did, and it is difficult to keep fries crispy and wings fresh. Insanely good food and great beer list. Haven't been here since this place was T-bonez but the JREAM sucked me in. The beer list here is pretty good. Ended up with a burley oak JREAM, and some other interesting stuff I wanted to try like the Cushwa snickers Rambo. Had to pay extra for those more expensive beers but that's fair. The flight runs you $12 but they have a lot of other very reasonable $5-$7 pints. Food wise, sure the menu is on the higher side, but the quality seems worth it. They were out of the Buffalo cauliflower, but ended up getting the pork belly and the pretzel sticks. Both were phenomenal. The pork belly was basically melt in you mouth and comparable to some A5 wagyu beef I've had in the past. Highly recommend. The pretzel sticks were the perfect consistency. The cheese sauce was really good as well, though we wish it would have been warm. I'm bound to stop back in here to try some other things. read more

I've been here a few times and waffled a bit on how to review it. It's a decent enough place to grab a craft beer in the area and has a pretty good tap list that changes frequently. Nothing about the place really grabbed me until recently though. Last time I was there, they had a wing special. I am pretty picky about buffalo wings and I thought theirs were excellent. Crispy, saucy, flavorful, and a great portion for the price. Also, plenty of great beers to pair with. I think they have some other random drink specials from the bar and special desserts that change seasonally but I have never tried them. Came in here to visit my cousin who's the chef (not that I'd let it get in the way of my objective review or anything) and I'm so proud of him and these folks. :) It's definitely a divey kind of spot -- it's a locals bar, with a lot of regulars who even know each other by name. But it's got character and I love that they press on the honey theme (cool artwork by the bathroom for example) because honey happens to be my favorite condiment. I ADMIT: I was confused on how to get in. The doors in front didn't have any windows and didn't seem very, uh, welcoming and we tried but couldn't open them for whatever reason and ended up walking around to the side where the outdoor deck is and were able to get in through those doors. I think we were just being city idiots because others were inside and there's definitely a host stand by the front door. I don't know. I blame us. We sat at the bar since we wanted to be around to chat with my cousin when he had a chance to come out of the kitchen. Liked all the stickers on the side of the fridge (or whatever it is) under the register. Bartender was friendly, though ... I forget his name - sorry!! I was distracted taking it all in. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with honey BBQ sauce (debated for a long time between that and buffalo but ultimately decided against the extra heat for myself) and my husband ordered the burger with mushrooms and bleu cheese. Cousin also brought us out some southwestern chicken egg rolls that were going to be on special that night to try that were amazing -- not too spicy, tons of flavor, little bit of extra heat from the sauce. I assume my husband's burger was good because he devoured it before I even really saw it. My chicken sandwich almost made me cry. We eat a lot of fried chicken sandwiches because it's just a fun delicious thing to eat at any time of day and easy to compare across restaurants (unlike burgers which can be very differently made/assembled, or other sandwiches/dishes). Some chicken sandwiches are just big hunks of chicken and even if the breading is crispy it ends up just being mush in your mouth or just a dry slab of poultry, but this was TWO pieces of thinner chicken so there was maximum surface area for crispy deliciousness and the chicken stayed tender and juicy since I'm guessing you don't have to kill it five times to make sure you can serve it when it's thinner like that. I also appreciated they seemed lightly tossed in sauce instead of it being slathered on top -- it was a HUGE sandwich but surprisingly not messy to eat because of the care and attention to detail that went into assembling it. And that pickle hit at the bottom! Perfection. But also -- the sweet potato fries!!! I was so full from the sandwich and eggrolls but I could NOT stop eating those fries. I wish I could have boxed them up and taken them home but we had a baseball game to get to and nowhere to really store/heat them up. I guess that means we have to go back and visit again another time. Overall - solid spot. That's not even the bias talking because I'd complain if someone from my family made bad food and sold it to people. :P Congrats to HoCo on staying open despite the poor timing of your original opening being right when the pandemic started. Really enjoyed the food here, noise level though knocked it a little, speaking for us. For starters, we had Honey Whipped Ricotta that was accompanied by fruit and crusty bread. I think this was a first for us....not enough bread and fruit to dip with...there was actually an abundance of ricotta (!), however it was very tasty and we would order again. My husband had a Jack Honey Pulled Pork with fries. Fairly large sandwich that he replied was tasty. I had the Big BLT which is a pork belly with lettuce, tomato jam and honey aioli and also served with fries. It was also very tasty and something out of the ordinary from the normal bacon, lettuce and tomato. We washed it down with a hefeweizen we found on the menu. If you are looking to come here for a quiet evening, I would say head somewhere else. We truly couldn't hear ourselves think and we have been to some rather lively bars in our time. It was actually hard to hear our server speaking to us. I will give it the benefit of the doubt, it was a Friday night. Food prices are a little higher than what we normally pay, but people have to pay the bills. Not sure if there is a Happy Hour or not....I did get a Groupon recently to go back. HoCo Brew Hive is a big disappointment. Since T-Bonz closed we've been waiting for HoCo Brew Hive to open. We were hoping for an easy spot to grab a drink and a snack. This is not that place. The menu is limited and expensive. $17 for a BLT sandwich? Even a simple cheese burger is $16. Brew Hive does not have the ambiance and quality of Victoria's Gastro Pub to pull-off prices like these. They only have 5 appetizers and they are all very expensive. $13 wings, $15 pork belly, $12 pretzel sticks. Really? How about some nachos for $8? I predict they won't be in business long. Was really excited to try this place! I love beer and I love honey (especially hot honey), so thought this place would be right up my alley! We went and it was super crowded, I guess everyone wanted to try it haha! Parking lot was full and chaotic, but they can't help that, just be prepared if you come when it's busy. We were seated pretty quickly, staff were friendly. We had the unfortunate experience to be seated at one of the tables they have down the middle of the aisle so it was very cramped and not a lot of room. Beer selection was nice! And the waitress let me sample one I was interested in and ended up ordering! The menu looked good, several things I wanted to try, but I was honestly surprised and disappointed at their lack of usage with honey! We ordered the buffalo cauliflower, soft pretzels, hot honey chicken sandwich and Chesapeake roll and we each got one beer. Buffalo cauliflower I was so excited about! It wasn't good. It was basically raw cauliflower doused in buffalo sauce. I did like the sauce and blue cheese crumbles and dipped my pretzels in them. The Chesapeake roll was ok. Not great. Awfully small for $19, and on what appeared to be a slice of bread rather than a roll?, The hot honey chicken sandwich was pretty good! I put hot honey on everything, so was really looking forward to it! It had some gristle in it that I ate around, but the flavors were nice! All in all for $100, I was pretty underwhelmed. As really looking forward to a nice meal, but came home disappointed and still hungry. The avocado corn salad was pretty yummy We may give it another shot when it calms down and if there are some menu changes with the season! Really great hidden gem in Ellicott City. Super comfortable place to chill at the bar with a nicely curated selection of beer, wine and their own cocktails. The bartenders are exceptionally nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. Vegetarians are in luck as there are several good options on the menu including a really well done Impossible burger with fries that are on point. Also, the pretzels are a must! Their diverse menu features a number of versatile Asian, Latin and American fusion items that can easily be modified for our vegan and vegetarian friends out there. They also carry an array of local brews (beer list included in photos) plus the bartenders really know how to pour a good drink! Today, we stopped by for lunch during a fundraiser HOCO Brew Hive hosted for Small Miracles animal Rescue, and it was fabulous! They put together a small menu of drinks and food where a portion of the proceeds went to helping animals in need. I have mad respect for HOCO Brew Hive for supporting their community the way they do. Plus, their food was SLAMMIN' and the drinks were delish!
