    Spiked Milkshake
    Gary E.

I visited Hobo's late on a Tuesday afternoon. I was expecting it to be fairly empty as it was around 3 so between the lunch and dinner crowds. But it seems we had three large families walked in shortly before us. So the wait staff was stretched thin but the manager and our waitress both apologized for any delay. Once we got seated and our drink orders taken things moved more swiftly. The restaurant itself was nice. Lots of tables and booths also a big bar you can sit at including a large outdoor area. To start we got a sweet tea and I tried one of their spiked milkshakes! The sweet tea was just right and the milkshake was very good. A nice hit of alcohol in it with real chucks of ice cream! As usual for me, I had to try the Chicken and waffle sandwich! There were pieces of bacon in the batter that made the waffle and a large piece of deep fried chicken. The sandwich ate a bit dry so I asked for some syrup to pour over the waffle. It did come with a maple aioli but I just prefer regular syrup. The hand cut fries were thick but hot and fully cooked. Very good! My mom ordered the build your own burger instead of getting one of their many signature burgers. Her meal came thick and stacked and juicy! An amazing looking burger and she loved the onion strings. Next time I go back I think I wanna try The Wanderer burger because it looks very good! We also ordered a burger to go for my dad and our waitress was so good, she put the order in as our meals came out, so when we finished the togo burger came out and it was super hot! Amazing service! Fun place to eat with lots of options! Check it out!

Three of us stopped in for lunch on a busy Wednesday about 1pm. Their brick lined wide open space allows for almost a complete 360 view of entire restaurant, bar and TV's. Our server was pleasant and attentive constantly checking in and refilling beverages. Has Philly cheesesteak with Mac and cheese, onion soup chicken with slaw and chicken Ceasars salad. Everything was delicious and plentiful. Enjoy!

I've seen this place for years in the area, but never stopped to try them out. Went yesterday for a quick lunch. There weren't busy at all and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I was with a group and we all ordered something different. Food was fresh, hot, portions were plentiful and had good flavor.

Ambience was lively, very busy for a Thursday which meant the food must be good. Service was great for how busy it was, I had 2 beers and our waitress was great to make sure I was satisfied. Food was pretty good! Not anything spectacular but it was very good and I would definitely go back!

There is absolutely nothing "wimpy" about the portion size or the taste. The patty was juicy, seasoned perfectly, and the toppings were fresh. If you're looking for a burger that actually fills you up and delivers on flavor, this is the one to get.

Our experience here was excellent! We stopped in at 11:30am on a sunday and were quickly seated. The patio was already pretty full but luckily we got a table. They have picnic tables off the deck as well as a "kiddy" grassy area and a decent amount of seating inside. They have a great craft beer selection, really fun cocktails and a variety of daily specials. I had a mimosa then a peach margarita which was delicious. The steak tacos were fantastic!! And the house made chips made my day! Great little place and extremely affordable!

My ticket says her name was Nancy; she didn't introduce herself. I didn't like that she did not take orders from patrons in the order they arrived, she worked from the front. Since we were at the last table, others who came in after us placed their order while we just sat and waited. When she finally came to us, I asked about any specials. She showed that the poke bowls are $10. I got the ahi tuna one. It was very delicious. I saw a smoked peach old fashioned. It was ok. I guess the peach is smoked ahead of time and turned into a syrup, because my drink did not get smoked at all. Hubby bought a corona. Service of course was non existent because she was doing almost everything herself! I had to ask for more water on this 95+ degree day. Her busy ness is not her fault, that falls on management/scheduling. Tvs stay on sports. Looks like they have an upstairs space too. I can image they are packed for happy hour. I am rarely in this town, so I cannot say Ill be back. But I will recommend for others to go try!

Everything about our experience at The Improper Pig was absolutely perfect! From the moment we walked in, the decor and atmosphere stood out and hit all the marks, a few dust places but I'm assuming this place has been here awhile so let's call it that...but the attention to detail made the restaurant feel unique, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed in a warm way. The service was top-notch, with a friendly and attentive waitress she was more eager to fill our drinks than I was to drink lol but honestly she single handily was a beautiful train of productivity, the entire staff was, very impressed, that's a rare find these days and especially for the South. The manager, I imagine runs a tight ship...that helped make the experience even better. The biggest surprise was when my fried rice arrived at the table. The portion size was incredible for the price, mostly because and the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. It was flavorful, satisfying, and clearly made with technique. I will say the brisket on the barbecue plate my husband ordered was incredibly dry, the plethora of flavors of barbecue sauce on the table couldn't help it either...I'm thinking they reheat the meat for the bbq plates throughout the day (which makes sense) but they maybe need to consider another reheating method or I'm curious when the bbq is freshly made...I'd love to come in that day. Either way I truly left almost completely speechless...what a gem. We will be back to ensure it wasn't a one off type of day. It's not often that you find a place where the atmosphere, service, value, and food all come together so well...with techniques going in the kitchen. Whew! We had a wonderful experience and will absolutely be back!

Honey butter with the hush puppies was more dessert than a side, but still good. Neveah was an attentive and great server. Only downside was the children crying and running around the restaurant, but can't knock the business for bad parenting.

Unfortunately, they're trending out of style everywhere as remote work has taken a big bite from such team-building activities. Discounted house wines by the glass and near half-price on selected cocktails, plus an excellent discounted menu of appetizers. And plate sizes aren't cheated, just look at the photos of our truffle fries and Margherita flatbread. I remember when establishments were filled late in the week for after-work drinks and eats. The décor and vibe give the place a lot of personality, and it made for an enjoyable dinner date for me and my wife. Service was excellent during our visit. Our server was incredibly pleasant, attentive, and full of great suggestions. The beer selection was another highlight, with an extensive set of choices. The only small downside was my wife's wings. She wasn't thrilled with the sauce she chose, which was a bit of a letdown, but everything else we tried hit the mark. I had the 18xx Chicken Sandwich (minus the bun). Glad I went without the bun because that thing would have been a bit of a beast to try and eat as a sandwich. Overall, it's a great spot with a cool atmosphere, and an impressive beer lineup. I feel comfortable recommending though I'd likely try a steak or burger option. Update: Two more visits and I've tried two other entrees: the Ooey-Gooey Grilled Cheese Sandwich and the Spinach and Salmon Salad. I had the salad because I wasn't especially hungry on that visit. It was neither bad nor outstanding. The grilled cheese sandwich was, indeed, as advertised, both ooey and gooey and both in a good way. I'm still interested to try a burger on a future visit. On one of our visits, the kitchen team apparently used the tuna that was meant for my wife's Seared Ahi Tuna Salad for another meal which resulted in an additional 15-minute wait time for our food. Though disappointing, a member of the kitchen staff came to our table to explain that situation which was a professional courtesy move that was professional and respectable.
