    Very disappointed with Select Heating and Air of Creedmoor…read more I've had a maintenance contract with this company for almost 10 years and have even purchased two brand new HVAC units from them. During a recent preventative maintenance appointment, I discovered my main HVAC was covered in cobwebs, leaves and pine needles after the tech said the job was completed. When I asked about cleaning -- which is clearly stated in my contract -- the tech told me they only do that in the spring. The contract also says motors and bearings are greased each visit, but the tech said that's only done once a unit starts making noise. This made me dig into my maintenance plan even further and I learned that my mini split hasn't been serviced in years, even though I've been charged annually. I've stopped by the office four times in the past week and requested a call from the owner, but he's never available and hasn't returned my calls even after the secretary said that he's been given the message on several occasions. . That hardly sounds like preventative maintenance and is a far cry from what's written in the contract. This experience shows a serious lack of honesty, follow-through, and customer care. If you're considering a maintenance plan with this company, confirm that the work is actually being done.

Unfortunately, their business model has changed from "honest and hardworking" to "opaque and manipulative." The Technical Issues: In 2020, Santa Air installed my trane system but failed to properly connect the emergency heat strips. I spent five winters wondering why my house wouldn't stay warm below 30°F. They missed this mistake during every subsequent maintenance visit over the 5 years. Recently, they tried to charge me $1,700 for repairs I didn't need. A second opinion confirmed their diagnosis was wrong; that technician fixed Santa Air's original installation mistake and the actual sensor issue for a total of $575. The Billing Issues: Their current pricing "tiers" (Bronze, Silver, Gold) are incredibly over-inflated compared to other local HVAC companies. And if you only need a repair included in the Gold tier, you have to pay for all the things you don't need in the tiers below it. When I realized the invoice was vague and the work wasn't needed, I cancelled. The Ethics Issue: The most disappointing part was the office's response. They tried to emotionally guilt-trip me. They held my refund hostage, telling me they would only return my money if I removed my negative reviews. I refused to be coerced and had to fight for three months through my bank to recover the funds for services never rendered. Don't let the high star rating fool you--they are actively pressuring customers to delete bad experiences. Always get a second opinion!!!
