So excited that Hobby Lobby has finally opened in San Jose! It is an enormous store, much larger than their Morgan Hill location, which feels bright & spacious. We walked up and down the aisles and they have everything you can possibly imagine to decorate and accessorize your home from candles, vases, throw pillows, door knobs, artwork, lamps & their seasonal section is also fabulous! The store was pretty busy for a late Saturday afternoon but they had a lot of cashiers & kept the lines moving quickly!

Finally got to visit with the family! It's near Almaden Costco and has replaced bed bath and beyond. It's on the second floor and is accessible via escalator or elevator. It's a huge space that's bright, well stocked for a grand opening, and lots of friendly workers. They have so many aisles for home decor, arts and crafts and more! They've have a promotional discount to attract new customers. You could get lost in the store easily!

Poorly stocked shelves

Rows of almost empty shelves of Christmas decorations the week before Thanksgiving. Two employees couldn't be bothered and acted irritated when I asked where items were.

The workers here are nice and friendly. It's very spacious and clean. The restrooms are clean and you going to have to ask a worker to open the door for you. They recently open this store. Before this store it was Bed Bath and Beyond. They always run some sort of promotion discount.

Some hello kitty stuff

There were 8 staff members hanging out in the front with 1 person on register. Took more than 10 minutes to pay for a couple of items.

They have a great variety of pens, notebooks, stickers, and thoughtful little gifts, and I was especially excited to see that they even carry Hobonichi. Everything feels well curated and high quality, not overwhelming, just really fun to browse. The store itself is bright, clean, and inspiring, and the staff has always been friendly and welcoming. Whether you're into journaling, planning, or just want a unique gift, Maido is definitely worth stopping into. There was not much stafff around helping, I think only two people and they were both at the cash register, they weren't too talkative and didnt ask if we needed help, but im sure they would have if we asked, we just werent approached. Maybe they were short staffed that day.

The store is not big but fully packed. Very organized. We don't have too many gift store like this in the west bay . The store location is right by Vally fair mall , West San Jose . Many customers and quite popular. Parking is not easy if you come in the weekend . There are couple paid parking structures in the same area. I usually either come on the weekdays or Saturday morning to avoid the crowds.

I was in paper heaven walking into Kelly Paper! I came in shopping for textured stock for my…read morewedding stationery and I was very impressed with the selection. I had done my homework beforehand -- did some research on the brands that Kelly Paper carries, the available colors, weights, sizes, etc. -- and I was looking for Classic Crest or Linen papers. There were two full aisles, organized by weight and color and texture, of pretty papers for me to look through -- heaven, I tell you! You can buy samples of papers before you commit to a whole ream. I picked up a few pages of stocks I was interested in (each piece was, like, ten cents). As I approached the register, the super-nice clerk told me that I could just take them, because she knew that I would be back to buy a ream. Awesome :) It definitely helped to do some paper research beforehand. With their wide selection, Kelly Paper can be overwhelming, so have an idea of what you're looking for before going in. And usually, there would only be one or two people working, so you may not get the assistance you need. Their prices are cheaper than Paper Source (especially for the Stardream Papers); it's definitely worth checking out.

The prices are a high here. I bought a blind box of a a cat with the sphinx head dress on it. When I opened it up it was so tiny. I laughed when I saw how small it was. It was definitely not worth the $5.99 I paid for it. There was only one employee in the store and she was at the register. She didn't greet me when I came in, but she did thank me for my purchase.

Prices are higher for items as most are imported from Japan, but worth for the convenience and accessibility. This specific shop is a little more quiet and sparse compared to others, but they do have different plushies than what I've seen. Amongst the Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle stores in the South Bay area, this was the only one I have found the Shinada Global Mochi-Kawauso (Mochi-Otter). I first saw this little otter plush on tik tok and that swept me off my feet... I had to have one. They were selling for $80+ online (re-sellers) and marketplace site. Here...there isn't just the normal sized otter plush, but there's the massive XXL sized one. Just thinking about shipping from Japan... $200 + tax for this isn't unreasonable. I felt like a kid running out of a candy store with a bag of candy after getting the XXL otter - yes...it was very expensive, but it was worth every bit to satisfy my inner child. Final Thoughts: You don't come here for customer service, it's the products that you're here for.
