If you've perused my avatars, then you know that I'm a collector of the creepy and arcane, an aesthete of the sinister, the macabre, the ironic. I have amassed quite the collection of horror movie memorabilia, signed lyrics sheets, personal correspondence with serial killers*, war artefacts, and sundry other things, some of which I dare not make public on Yelp. While sifting through my most prized items recently, I realized just how cool they would look framed on the walls of the haunted murder dungeon I call my home. Framing, though, can be an expensive proposition, especially at Kurt Youngblood, the premier framing business in town. I've dropped many thousands of dollars there over the years, money well spent but not economically feasible moving forward; I simply have too much stuff! Only recently did I discover that Hobby Lobby had a framing department. The prices I saw advertised online were a fraction of what I've spent at Kurt Youngblood, but I was skeptical. Should I entrust unvetted workers at a chain with my priceless, one-of-a-kind items? My intuition told me "yes," so off I went. I'm glad I did! About a week ago, I dropped off three personally signed horror movie posters for framing. One was signed and dedicated to me by Robert Englund ("Freddy Krueger"), and the other two were signed by Don Coscarelli, writer and director of the excellent "Phantasm" film series. The guy at the counter took a photo of each poster, fed the photos into a computer program, and showed me how they would look with various frames and borders. I settled on a black frame with a red border for all three. He told me they would be ready by September 23rd, which seemed reasonable, and quoted me a price of approximately $125 each. That might sound steep, but Kurt Youngblood would have charged me at least 50% more. Imagine my surprise when I received a call that all three posters were ready only a few days later! This Hobby Lobby is only a short drive from my house, so I rushed over to pick them up. All three were perfect: seamless, symmetrical, and exactly what I had requested. They look gorgeous and professional, and I can't wait to hang them on my walls this weekend. I'm so impressed with the work Hobby Lobby did that I plan to have several more items framed there very soon. Look at the three photos I've posted so far and revel in their awesomeness! I also take perverse, ironic pleasure in the fact that my Freddy Krueger poster -- which references my spirit communication evidence and refers to me as a "bitch" -- is now the featured photo for Hobby Lobby, a business run by a Fundamentalist Baptist. Now, if only I could locate the letter and pentagram doodle I received from Richard Ramirez, aka The Night Stalker. *I should have written "incarcerated serial killers." If I had correspondence from active serial killers, then that would be impressive indeed. read more

Rough service and I'd say they're understaffed on the registers. A few customers including myself had to wait for somebody to appear at the cloth station as there was literally nobody there AKA abandoned post . There was a ring bell for service sign which must've been an ornament because it led to nobody coming over to assist. After about twelve minutes of waiting I went over to the cashiers to call on the intercom for somebody to go and help. After about another five minutes the woman was rude and took it all as a joke. She even went as far as to mention the bell being there should somebody need to request/call for assistance. Wow. Cheers. read more

Took a long time for cashiers to make a tax exempt purchase for a school. Devin, the lead cashier, was quite grumpy and irritated that I was shopping there today. Everything was sooo inconvenienced. I no longer wonder why so many people buy these items online. For twenty five years I've spent out of pocket for classroom items, and enjoyed the access of an art/ hobby store. I adore HL!!! My mom is an awesome interior decorator and can whip something up with a few bucks at hand and make it look like a bajillion dollars. When she comes to visit me, she gives me bunches of ideas and for the most part, I always end up coming here for what I need. There's always something marked down or on sale and even when I may not know a certain piece or pieces are on sale, the employees are extremely good at knowing what is or will verify for me with no problems. I don't believe I've ever encountered a bad attitude or anything from anyone that works here either. The only downfall is they're closed on Sundays. I do understand, however, it's for worship. read more

I like going to hobby lobby for my arts and crafts supplies. They seem to have more selection than any competitors in town. They have weekly specials that make thinks more affordable. The only thing is this particular location lacks customer service. There's never enough cashiers, especially on Saturdays. The other locations in town don't have this problem. Also there's never anyone on the floor to flag down when you have a question. read more

It's embarrassing how many bags I leave with when I come to this Hobby Lobby. I love it!!! The customer service is great and the selection of items is fantastic. I love all of their decor, and their sales are fabulous. Word to the wise: never pay full price at a Hobby Lobby. You can almost always find 40% off coupons on their websites and they circulate their stock with at least 50% off weekly. read more

Unfortunately, the customer service here stinks! It is Always very difficult to find anybody to help me and when I have, I've been told, "it's over there." The last time I went in and asked an employee to help me find something, she asked if I had already looked in that department. Regardless if I had already been in that dept., I could not find this item. That's why I was asking for help! Twice I have been told by the same asst mgr that "We're busy " when I've told him about unhelpful staff. Go to Michael's- employees there are much more helpful. read more

This was an unplanned trip to Hobby Lobby, but also at the same time a good time to visit. Early morning (about 9:15) meant few people in the store and easy aisles to navigate. I came in and there was a group of workers up front, including what looked like a manager. He was talking about the display of Fall items up front. Unfortunately I was not greeted as I came into the store. I went immediately to the area I needed to visit to get my purchase and was on my way back to the cashier area. Again I passed the "manager" and was not acknowledged. A friendly greeting goes a long way to having happy customers and unfortunately that did not occur during this visit. I like Hobby Lobby for their selections and prices, but hoping for a more positive 4 or 5 star experience next time. read more

Like everybody else in town I have not had the luxury of shopping in a hobby lobby! I remember the good old days when I would be the middle of a masterpiece and boom I would need some more whatever! Nothing to getting in my car and heading for the closest hobby lobby and finding it either on sale or using my phone to use a coupon. The stores are always clean and most times someone to help you find what you need. I sure will be happy when life gets back to the good old days read more

Good luck finding help here. Needed someone with the key to the spray paints. Took me 45 minutes just to find an employee. Waited another 15 minutes for paged employee to open case. Employee never showed. I could've just grabbed a bunch of items and just walked out the door. It's like they unlocked the door and left. read more

Always look in the Sunday's paper for a 40% off any regular price item. There is a great selection of many arts, crafts, and decorative items. I guarantee you won't walk out empty handed. Just walking into the establishment will get your creative juices flowing. Would've given 5 stars but they are lacking in great customer service! I wasn't greeted when I walked in and when I check out, I received some rude service. After laying all my items on the counter, I handed my 40% off coupon to the cashier and Theresa stated....I should've given the coupon to her 1st because she was going to have to void everything and redo it...like I work there and know cashier protocol! Since i became an Amazon Prime member, Hobby Lobby has been my emergency source of crafting supplies. They don't match prices with anything online, only paper ads. Also, the lines are always long with only one or two ladies working the registers. read more

I will not be returning here. I needed help finding an item, I asked Dan for help. He walked fast to the item touched it and walked away. He never looked back at me or made eye contact. It was the worst customer service experience I have encountered in years. read more

You can easily waste a whole afternoon exploring the aisles of Hobby Lobby. They have almost every craft supply you could ever want and really great prices. They offer many specials and often you end up paying less than expected at the register! read more

This place is already overwhelming enough, but I've never been to this location with out waiting ten minutes to check out. It's a bit much. Costumer service is average. I will commend they're exchange policy. It was harmless and fast once I got to the register. read more

An excellent place to discover wedding decor. I rented a "wishing well" for all my wedding cards and cash donations. The staff was great and seemed just as happy and excited for me as I was. They had fantastic sales on the merchandise I needed. I even found things I didn't know I needed! read more

Man this place is like heaven ! So many pretty stuff I can definitely do some damage in this store !! It's like a michaels or Joann's except they carry a huge selection of wall decors. Very disappointed with HL today. Went there to purchase the metal decor to find the one that I wanted without a price tag. I asked the manager for a price check versus standing in line and holding up the other customrs. The manager looked at it and said 39.99 and half off would be 20.00. I was like, are you sure, the metal was lightweight. She said yes. I did not purchase it and went to another HL and found it for 17.99 which half off came to 9.00. A big difference and so disappointed on the customer service. So note to those purchasing items without a price tage, managers can put whatever price they want without checking. read more
