I don't know much about plants and I have been vacillating whether to take the plunge. My bf always have green thumb and this is one of the places he buys his plant supplies. It's a great place even for kids who want to get away from the buzz and learn about how to add and care for the nature. They have vegetable greens, fruit trees, even moringa! Different types of tomatoes and so much more! They have different pots and gadgets needed to grow plants and trees. While there are different price points, bf told me they have sales on off season which should be considered. Cheerful and very helpful staff. Supporting local business is the best way for the town to thrive and I'm in. Starting with the succulents!

Here's another extremely overdue review! Amaze amaze amaze -- I always leave Rainbow Gardens inspired. The selection is fantastic, the plants are healthy, and the staff is both knowledgeable and helpful. It's definitely one of my happy places. Highly recommend!

"Running Around Rainbow Gardens" A few weeks ago, I visited Rainbow Gardens in search of Red Drift Roses, Agaves, or some cacti to complete my Mediterranean garden. While I usually frequent Milberger's on 1604, a friend recommended I try Rainbow Gardens and I'm glad I did. The trip was easy, just off Bandera Road, and we were warmly greeted as soon as we entered the gate. We grabbed a wagon and slowly made our way through the long aisles of plants. I was impressed with the selection and added an assortment of salvias, cacti, flowers, as well as succulent and rose food to our wagon. As we strolled, a light rain began to fall, cooling us from the Saturday afternoon heat. We made our way over to a marvelous assortment of clay pots. I didn't get the chance to explore them all, but I'll definitely be back, especially since we were given coupons to return in August with our purchase. Rainbow Gardens is highly recommended for your plant ideas and inspirations. The prices were reasonable, and I'll definitely be returning for future horticultural projects.

I love the large selection of plants and shrubs. I wanted some younglings that I could grow on my own. I didn't know what kind I wanted when I walked in but I found several. I love the description cards that they keep next to each plant to let you know where the plant originated from and how much water, soil, and even what kind of soil would be best for the individual plant. I bought plants that are non-toxic to pets. I love this place and will be back for seeds.

Gorgeous nursery! They have a huge selection of indoor and outdoor plants, gardening products, clay pots, garden furniture, on a huge grounds. Really great signage with information on the plants. Pricing is variable. Some items seems a bit high and some seemed normal, but the selection here is really amazing. They also have educational information posted about gardening and offer classes. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They have the largest philodendron selection that I've seen in any nursery. So beautiful. They also have banana plants and palms during the spring / summer.

Goodness this is my favorite place in San Antonio. They have a huge selection of plants and trees. I enjoy just walking around and looking at all the beauty. All the employees are super friendly and give a smile when you're checking out too. Save your bucks and come back for a certain amount off later in the season.

28 Jul 2024 If you want anything pertaining to planting and gardening, I'm sure they have it here. Not sure how large their space is, but they have sections for trees, shrubs, herbs, butterfly-drawing greenery and flowers, cacti, gardening tools, hats, gardening shoes, potting soils, garden gnomes, herbicides, and tons of other plants and stuff. There is plenty of room to walk around freely. Some benches are placed throughout the area for when you need a break. Today while not blistering hot, was very humid, making the visit not ideal. The husband will return another time (without me, ha, ha). Go there.

This nursery has everything you need for your garden needs. You can find perennials and annuals. They have all types of trees. I like that they have a description in front of each of their items of what to expect from that item. They also have seasonal veggies. Prices are reasonable on the plants. They do have pots and garden decor. The prices are a little on the pricier side for those items. Parking is available on site. Keep in mind that you are going to a place where they sell plants. Your shoes may get dirty. Staff is always helpful. They also have occasional events on site.

Visited Rainbow Gardens on Bandera road last week and yesterday 4/30/24 in regards to a problem I was having with one of my plants. Both times the service I received was exceptional! First time was with Henry the manager and a young blonde hair lady in which I wish I would have gotten her name. And yesterday the same young lady and tall blonde gentleman. On both visits these individuals were eager to assist and full of valuable information! I didn't think plant nurseries like this existed anymore. Not to mention the wide selection of beautiful, healthy plants and the decorative accessories. Kudos to this business!

Wow what an amazing nursery! We happily stumbled upon it driving by and were able to take our dogs in as well as long as they were on leash. This nursery is huge! Areas are sectioned off for easy browsing. They sell everything- garden decor, pottery, trees, shrubs, vegetables, succulents, house plants, statues, fountains, wooden swings and etc just to name a few! I love how plant info cards are posted near each plant. My mind was happy and racing, thinking of all the ideas I have planned for our garden once house construction is done. Took lots of pics! Also loved some of the unusual succulent collection for sale as well. Prices are a little high. But, I look forward when spring approaches next year to check out their inventory!

Sorry for the late post, it's been a long afternoon in the yard. The service I received at Rainbow Gardens is next level. I never spend more than 5 minutes in an aisle without an educated guide to offer assistance, truly! So, holli assisted me and basically read my mind. She asked me all the questions about the soil I was hoping to transfer plants to, and whether I was intending to introduce this into my home and later the outdoors... so many questions I never really knew needed to be answered, and she explained why. With regard to value: I've had 2/8 trees and shrubs die from rainbow gardens. The two died during the scorching drought. Absolutely love rainbow gardens and how knowledgeable their staff are! Can't beat what they offer.

Rainbow Gardens has just about any plant or tree you could want--indoor and outdoor plants, fruit trees and decorative varieties, succulents and bushes. Not only do they sell plants, but they know everything about them--how to care for them, what kind of light they need, how big they will grow, and how to fertilize. If there isn't someone around to ask, they usually have little laminated cards above each group of plants with all you need to know. The property is a lovely place to just stroll through the walkways and dogs are allowed. Just be careful as some of the walkways are a little uneven and bumpy. I will say, I did have an unpleasant exchange with a cashier. My mother and I had all our plants on one cart and as I pulled up to the booth, the young lady quickly started adding up the plants. I told her they were not all together as I started to pull mine out and put mine on the counter. I only had 3. She misunderstood and thought I had 3 of a variety. I told her no, to hold on and let me sort it out. She got immediately defensive. She tried to correct me by saying something like, I said mine were the ones on top. I just felt she was impatient. As we went through my mother's plants, one didn't have a price nor a plastic stick with the variety. I recalled it was 24.99 and told her so, because we had really debated on buying it. I tried to be helpful and tell the young lady where we got it from because she "had to check". Her comment to me was, "Yes, I know exactly where they are". When the voice on the radio responded the price, I was correct and said nothing to her but smiled and shrugged. She looked at me and said, "I had to check!" Her tone was rude. Maybe she could've said, "Hey, you were absolutely right. Thanks for being patient while I checked." I'm hoping that isn't her usual demeanor--maybe just in a grumpy mood. It just wasn't a nice ending to an otherwise fun morning with my mom.

Simply put the owner is very full of himself, and takes business questions personally. Rather than accept his own coupon, he would rather not do business with you at all and tell you to your face to never come back. i guess he must be busy to turn away customers like that. It was not a small order, being well over $1000 in flowers and trees. The hired help is variable in knowledge and ability. They list their hours as being open until 6:00, but they shut down the cash register at 5:30 and basically chase you out after that. Not welcoming or friendly at all. If you have to have plants, and are willing to put up with people who basically don't care about you as a customer and are more interested in doing things their way, with their pride, and with their (self) hurt feelings than they are with providing you with good customer service, then I guess you could go there. I won't. Not after the way I was treated. I wouldn't want anyone I know or like to go there either. Sometimes it is not about the price, it is the principle. They seem to want to stand on their principle that it is OK to treat their customer with less respect than the dirt they sell, then chase you and your money away when you challenge them on their actions. So I will stand on my principle: I deserve respect as a customer just as they do as a vendor. If they do not want to be honest and respectful, they do not deserve my business, and I would suggest they do not deserve yours.

Known as 'Flowers on wheels", and lately, as "Maria Rocha Plants", this lady and her crew offer remarkable value and variety of plants every Saturday morning in a parking lot at the corner of Vance Jackson and Wurzbach Road. She loads her trucks with plants from local growers, and at 7:00 until 1:00, the selling frenzy is joined. BUT, don't tarry, for nearing the 1:00 hour, the best of the best are sold out!. What is offered? Ferns, flowering plants for indoor and outdoor, herbs, succulents, annuals, perennials, even orchids...the selection may vary from Saturday to Saturday, but the health and quality of the plants are second to none. The prices? Easily beating those at local nurseries and big box stores. (Actually, we did find Boston Fern at a local grocer for one dollar less, but of lesser quality, in our honest opinions). And if the plants offered are not enough of an inducement, just ask Maria's advice for growing and maintenance of plants. Don't be misled by her down home, and sometimes brassy personality.
