Seriously wow!! i have been to Palm Buddha several times and i'm never let down. i'm always greeted by a friendly face and Alan is always there to help carry, plant and tell you what you need to know about your new green friend. prices are not nearly close to how much you'd pay at a higher end plant nursery; yet your still getting the same if not bigger and healthier plants! if you're looking for that one hidden gem in San Antonio palm buddha is the place!!

These three little guys we found over at Palm Buddha.

These three little guys we found over at Palm Buddha. This place is amazing, so many different greenhouses with so much variety. They are very knowledgeable about all the plants and keep very good care of them, the plants all seem to thrive there. Honest pricing as well.

Is a fairly large outdoor garden center that specializes in palm trees and bamboo. It is located in west San Antonio near bandera. The staff was very helpful.

HIDDEN UTOPIC GEM! Alan was very helpful taking me around on the Polaris showing me the many, many options for our newly cleared beds. Although the options for tropic paradise are limitless here, he helped me hone in on what would work for our specific needs in our yard. Plenty of cold hardy and zone specific options and many different sizes of the same plants/trees so you can see what the growth potential is. He was very knowledgeable about all of the inventory and his succulent artwork is gorgeous. The fact that they offer landscaping and landscape design is a huge plus. I didn't post all my pics because some things just have to be seen in person to fully appreciate! Highly recommend and they just made a lifelong customer today

Tall palms and short palms everywhere!

This is THE place to go if you need palm leaves for your sukkah! Alan was nice enough to let us trim his palms for decorative purposes. He has a huge selection and variety of palms for sale including other Texas-tolerant trees and bushes. You should check them out!

    Bamboo

Went to get a bamboo plant for our yard. The owner helped explain to me which bamboo are clumping vs running. Then he assisted in picking out a healthy plant. Very impressed with selection of bamboo, palm trees, tropical trees and other hard to find tropicals. Bought a Mediterranean Palm. They delivered it and planted in our yard. The workers were good guys and very knowledgeable too. Asked about care and water needs.

some of the plants I purchased here!

I've discovered some truly unique, well-established hybrid begonias, a great range of succulents, and ready-to-go bonsais. They also boast one of the largest selections of Texas native plants, from Turk's Cap to Rock Roses, which can be hard to find at the busier nurseries where plants get scooped up quickly. In addition to plants, they offer a nice selection of glazed pots in various sizes, as well as wind chimes and bird feeders. The only downside is the parking situation--it's a bit tight, and getting out can be tricky. To avoid the hassle, I usually use the car wash entrance/exit when leaving.

We would inquire about certain plants and trees and they would inquire on what we were wanting and where we would be planting them at. Wayne and Faith helped us and helped us make some great choices of both plants and trees. We have bought approximately 10 trees ranging from Loquat, blood orange, 2 avocado trees, red grapefruit and an apple tree also got us a pomegranate tree. Picked up some shade trees like a pistache, maple and a sycamore. We also had them delivered and planted for us by The Garden Center. They take time to explain how to care for the plants and trees, providing you with a care sheet on how to keep them alive and healthy (which is important as I can have a rock die on me, don't have a green thumb). Great value and a great selection. I wholeheartedly recommend The Garden Center. I've been to other places to buy plants and trees but I think I've found my preferred place now. The others will sell you some plants and send you in your way, but here at The Garden Center they invest back into you to insure that you get the best service possible.

Known as 'Flowers on wheels", and lately, as "Maria Rocha Plants", this lady and her crew offer remarkable value and variety of plants every Saturday morning in a parking lot at the corner of Vance Jackson and Wurzbach Road. She loads her trucks with plants from local growers, and at 7:00 until 1:00, the selling frenzy is joined. BUT, don't tarry, for nearing the 1:00 hour, the best of the best are sold out!. What is offered? Ferns, flowering plants for indoor and outdoor, herbs, succulents, annuals, perennials, even orchids...the selection may vary from Saturday to Saturday, but the health and quality of the plants are second to none. The prices? Easily beating those at local nurseries and big box stores. (Actually, we did find Boston Fern at a local grocer for one dollar less, but of lesser quality, in our honest opinions). And if the plants offered are not enough of an inducement, just ask Maria's advice for growing and maintenance of plants. Don't be misled by her down home, and sometimes brassy personality. Her knowledge of plants is almost encyclopedic! We have become regulars, as Marjan is addicted to the practice of gardening. Make a trip to the corner of Vance Jackson and Wurzbach. Visit Maria Rocha. See what she has to offer to gardeners. We think you will be pleased with the experience!! Marjan rates Maria Rocha Plants...5 origami boots!!! (Oh, one more thing: Maria's is a "cash only" business, no checks or credit cards!)

I had no idea Maria had a Yelp page!…read more If you are looking for beautiful and affordable indoor and outdoor plants for your home, you have to visit Maria. She is only at this location on Saturday mornings, and all her plants fly by in just HOURS. I believe she sets up at 7am, and I've seen people waiting for her at that time. Usually by noon, most of her plants have already sold and you only get the not-so-pretty plants. All the plants I've purchased from her have been doing amazing and are pest free. Last time I visited she was only accepting cash, so I would recommend taking some bills in case she is still doing that. Highly recommending visiting her if you are looking for a new plant baby!
