The staff could use a bit of people skills, but the selection is great. This is a great place to get inspiration for upcoming projects

Oil change was so quick, and they said : oh its great, no recall. BS not even 72 ish hours later I get these flashing codes in dashboard. About being so many miles until my truck went into limp mode. This dealership was the closest to our BnB (new to area) and took it in. The lady at desk was the new service director (Taylor) and I explained the previous place and my utter disgust with them. Not only did this service center take it seriously, she was honest and said they would need 24 hours to inspect it. 24 hours later, they text me with news it was the recall. It took one week for them to get part, get it installed AND Rebecca went to bat for me and made sure RAM covered an additional faulty part, that had failed due to the recall part. I was ready to give up hope on dealerships here, and this place shocked me. I will gladly drive here to see both the awesome women who keep it real and honest. Even if I buy a home in another parish. Aggravating when service departments try and scam you. Rainbow actually sent me what looked like a bill for 240$ + last week...in the Itty bitty tiniest print at bottom it explained it was an offer for their extended maintenance package. Jack-holes!!! My mum or any other older person I know would have genuinely thought it was a bill and paid I am genuinely considering filing a complaint with BBB or whatever Louisiana allows for that shady/deceptive letter. Hands down I will recommend BOTH these women to anyone looking for service!!

I would not recommend Ross Downing Chevrolet Jeep Dodge to anyone…read more I brought my Jeep Renegade to them on a Monday after breaking down on Sunday. Initially, I thought it was a transmission issue, but after further inspection, I realized it was the brake caliper--a repair covered by my warranty. I had my car towed to Ross Downing, and that turned out to be a huge mistake. When I dropped off the car, I specifically told them the issue was with the brake caliper. Despite this, it took them over 24 hours to diagnose the problem. During this time, they claimed my car had electrical issues and multiple other problems that were completely unfounded. I reviewed the dash cam footage from my car and saw their technicians forcing it to drive forward, causing the caliper to grind and damage my rims. I also watched as four technicians struggled to figure out the problem, with one even stating, "I don't think it's the brakes." Their lack of basic mechanical knowledge was alarming. Eventually, they told me the caliper wasn't covered under warranty because the issue was due to a missing caliper bolt. This seemed deliberately written in a way that would avoid warranty coverage, despite other options they could have pursued. To make matters worse, almost all the additional issues they claimed existed were fabricated. My car has never had electrical problems, and I have records showing that my brakes were serviced in August by the dealership that sold me the car (Benoit Nissan in DeRidder). Ross Downing seemed more interested in trying to make money off unnecessary repairs than solving the actual problem. When I told them I only wanted the caliper repaired, they quoted me $153 for the work. Thankfully, Benoit Motors stepped up and paid for the repair because they are an honest and trustworthy dealership. If Ross Downing cared about doing quality work and treating customers fairly, they might get more business. Instead, my experience suggests they are incompetent and untrustworthy. I would advise anyone to take their car elsewhere.

UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS 1 STAR REVIEW BELOW: I sent an email…read moreto the General Manager, Rod Morris, who had Ronnie reach out to Zac within hours. They had they car towed at their expense from our home in Mandeville to the dealership in Hammond. Their mechanic agreed with Autoville: the car was toast. Ross Downing agreed to purchase it back for 75% of what Zac paid. While it would've been nice to receive the full amount, legally, Ross Downing wasn't required to offer anything. We do appreciate them doing the right thing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ORIGINAL REVIEW: 56 Days. That's how long the car my son bought from Ross Downing Chevrolet lasted. That's 26 days past their 30 guarantee. Ross Downing could have chosen to be a hero and offered some type of assistance. However, despite several calls and numerous conversations with the FB chat bots, the only person we heard from was his opportunistic salesperson. His laughable "solution" was for us to trade the now-inoperable car in for another vehicle which my son would have to finance. My son is early 20s, works 2 jobs and saved to pay cash for this vehicle. He probably doesn't have credit score to qualify for a loan, nor does he want to incur debt. (And frankly, he's distrustful of you now.) I realize Ross Downing is under no legal obligation to help my son. However, there's "right" and then there's "doing the right thing." The latter creates loyalty, repeat customers, and good word of mouth. This experience is the opposite of that. [Note: neither my son, nor my husband, recall being offered an extended warranty, but if you can show paperwork that he initialed/signed declining coverage, I'll concede that point.]

My friend and I were out looking for a new car for myself and my husband and we stopped in at Ross Downing. As a female, the first thing I'm looking for is how a salesperson approaches and responds to my questions. Landon was spot on. He looks you in the eye and gives you the best of his ability, if he was u certain he got up and got the answer for us. But the most frustrating part was finding the needed gift items, then the cashier got distracted and put one of the items aside, and didn't ring it up. Sadly, I learned that each store or a small group of stores have different buyers which pick what the store carries. I went to the Marshall's in Covington as it is the only one around and it was very dirty, the towels I bought I had to return because they fell apart after one washing even though they were a top brand, so that was odd and the customer service, including the management, was awful. In a recent visit, I was attempting to buy replacement towels for the ones the fell apart, a small colander, and some other household items. I was at the store with a friend and her teenage daughter. They checked out ahead of me. When I went to check out, I was "helped" by a robust young lady named "Diamond." Her name did not match her attitude and overall demeanor. On one of the items I planned to purchase, the barcode would not read. I told Diamond to not bother I would skip it as I had two other people waiting on me and I was in a hurry. The manager, who was very rude and would not listen to me, overheard, and stated she would just go grab another one with a better tag. I stated to the manager, "I am in a hurry please don't bother," but she ignored my instructions and stated she would go grab one anyway. When she returned, she had been unable to find the exact item, delayed me from buying the other items I was going to purchase, then began to complain about how overwhelmed she was because it was busy and she didn't know what to do. Clearly, this "manager" is not a good fit for being a manager. If a line of about 10 people in a small retail store overwhelms you, this is not your calling. It's not rocket science. Diamond then grabbed the item the manager handed to me and threw it down on a shelf while rolling her eyes at the manager and me and grunting loudly. I stated she that she should have just listened to me in the first place and could she just please ring up my items so I could go. Diamond then grabbed the towels and shook them and stated to me, "do you want these or not", while rolling her eyes and smacking her gum in my face. I told her to keep them. On principal, I can't shop here. I then asked her what her name was, and she got about 6 inches from my face, shoved her name tag at me, and grunted "it's, uh, it's Diamond" while rolling her eyes again. Other than the horrible customer service the selection is limited, nothing is organized, tags are missing on items and it is not very clean as compared to other locations. I will never shop here again.
