Local beer

Local ambiance... stepping back to Wild West, Busy location. Expect to wait. Large selection for f food. Breakfast is available all day. Beer is cold and they have some features mixed drinks. Local craft beers. Waitstaff have a lot of tables but they help each other serve. Steak was mediocre. Cooked as asked but not high quality. Hash browns came burnt and they were replaced. Chicken fried steak and over easy eggs were cooked well.

We were a bachelorette group, got seated at separate tables but literally right next to each other. We got there around 7ish, place was a little crowded but nice. I ordered the Salmon with salad/fries & Desert oasis cocktail 10/10. The only complaint I have was I wanted more salmon My friends ordered: Steak salad 8/10, Tiger shrimp 9/10. Food was so delicious & came out quick. I would come back to this steakhouse again!

First time here. Service was ok. Food was ok. My husband and I shared a chicken sandwich and the chicken was kind of rubbery. Fried pickles were breaded too thick for how thin the pickle slices were. Overall ok experience. We were in the area visiting for the day and probably won't return. Ambiance was casual and price range was average/reasonable.

Stopped in after walking around Main Street and visiting a couple of bars. It was close to 5:00 so not crowded but that quickly changed. The noice level was high but you could still converse without screaming. Our server recommended the Cajun mushroom which were pretty good. We then ordered the steakhouse salad and the deep fried fish. I didn't really like the steak on the salad but the rest of the salad was good. The steak was tough and had no flavor so I picked around that. The fish was cooked well but I have no idea what kind of fish it was. Lol. We had a shot of tequila and whisky plus a Coke. The service was good. It seemed like every server was genuinely personable and the other diners seemed to engage well with each. The place was clean and not packed in too tight. Got the strawberry cheesecake in the jar to go. We ended up spending about $140 with tip. It wasn't bad.

Cold steak - not even close to medium rare. Butter on top did not melt. "Cool center" is a common retort. Touching the steak it was cold to the touch. For a steak place big miss. The fried fish we also had was great, hot steaming and flavorful. Waitress that likes to argue - tops off a poor performance. If we try again - medium may have to be the setting. Parking down the street was good.

Chopped Salad. HUGE and delicious.

Great service delicious food. Order half portions when available one serving here is like 2 other places. Prices are reasonable as well.

We were looking for place to eat for lunch today and tried this place. Ordered small chicken fried steak and small hamburger steak and both are pretty good. This was a great lunch. Love the ambiance too and great staff.

The food here was amazing. Our group ordered the following: club sandwich, two small chicken fried steaks and a small ground steak with mushrooms and onions. I want to say the portions were very large in all cases. The service was amazing, with the waiter always on top of things. The inside was very clean and cozy. If you're in Fredericksburg, I would highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Mediocre at best. Food straight from pre-packaged Sysco truck. Gravy was obviously jar gravy. Very loud atmosphere.

One thing that makes this restaurant unique is that there are actually cabins situated directly across from the restaurant that you can rent out and stay in known as the Cotton Gin Village. We were seated in one of the upstairs dining rooms with lots of wine on display. One draw about this place is their incredible selection of Texas wines. They also feature some Texas beers and great signature cocktails, even wine flights. We started with Ron YatesCabernet and a martini. They do offer several of the Texas wines by the glass, nothing from CA. There's only a choice of 10 entrées on the menu and 8 appetizers all of which are enticing. They do give you a sample of their carrot soup, but no complementary bread. I decided on the chicken fried ribeye and paired it with the Reddy cab. My wife had the grilled pork tenderloin medallions. The chicken fried ribeye was very tender with plenty of lobster chunks on top and no gristle whatsoever. The pork medallions were equally as delicious and the 3 cheese grits were a perfect pairing. We cleaned our plates and had no room for dessert. We enjoyed every bite and Kyle our waiter was exceptional as our server. We look forward to returning and trying something new off the menu. Perfect place for great food and well-made Texas wine. Informative photos and video included.

This was my wife's birthday and we reserved a table for 6:30 pm which worked out perfectly after a long day of wine tasting. The atmosphere was exactly as we had experienced last time, but this time we sat inside the restaurant instead of outside. It was pleasant, not noisy, and had a very nice semi-formal dinner vibe. Our server (Edie) was very gracious and friendly. She quickly sat us and filled water glasses, brought menus and let us know that there were no specials (my thought was "after all this was a Wednesday night ;0)") There was a very nice card at our table wishing my wife a happy birthday, and Edie brought us a complimentary small serving of a very delicious soup (Roasted Carrot & Ancho); nice touch! I ordered a Hill Country Martini, which was delicious (ice cold with jalapeno-stuffed olives). They do have a date night special offering on the menu, but that would have been too much for us. We decided to each order a salad (I had the Steak Knife Wedge and my wife had the Tejas Ranch Caesar). We wanted to split the 14-ounce ribeye as we had a fairly decent lunch during our wine tour. The salads were large and full of great stuff! The wedge was loaded with chunks of blue cheese and bacon over ice cold lettuce. My wife's Caesar was delicious, and the dressing was perfect. Our steak was cooked to perfection (medium-rare) and served with mixed grilled veggies that were amazing. The steak was perfectly flavored, with amazing char, and mated perfectly with my martini. For dessert, we were provided a free piece of delicious cheesecake (birthday celebration for my wife) and it was very, very good! Overall, this was a much better experience than we had in 2023 and we will most certainly be back for more! Ambiance - 10/10 Service - 10/10 Food - 10/10 Value - 10/10

Outdoor bar & restrooms available too. The inside is clean, bright, upscale comfortable vibes. Multiple seating options and a private room available. Large menu. I enjoyed the 1/2 sandwich combo with BLTA and salad. The sourdough was buttery deliciousness! Sturdy enough to hold up the thick bacon, lettuce, tomato, mashed avocado and had a light layer of aioli that I appreciated did not take over the sandwich. The salad was light, tasty, & the glazed pecans were a special treat. The other dishes enjoyed were the Texas Triple and 1/2 Chicken salad sandwich with potato corn soup. When the dish arrived, however, the steak was clearly overcooked and closer to well done than medium-rare. When we raised the concern, the waiter claimed she had told us the meat would come out anywhere from medium-rare to well done due to how it sits in the warmer, and then suggested we must have misunderstood her initial explanation. This contradiction was frustrating and unprofessional, especially as it felt like our concern was being dismissed rather than addressed. Both the waiter and manager insisted the steak was cooked correctly, despite it clearly not being medium-rare. After we sent it back, they replaced it with a filet that was prepared properly. They did remove the original entrée from the bill, but then charged us for the filet at cost. Given the situation, it would have been more appropriate to simply substitute the filet at the original menu price. Unfortunately, my meal was also very underwhelming. The fish lacked flavor and was not enjoyable. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially for a special anniversary dinner. I will say -- the hummus plate was delightful. Light and great flavor for an appetizer. The drinks were also very good too.

Overall, 1 of our favorite food stops on this trip! Our order consisted of 1 order of bang bang shrimp, 1 spinach & artichoke dip appetizer, a shared seared salmon dish (not pictured), 1 blackberry margarita (not pictured), & 1 blueberry mule (not pictured). For me, the best part of our order was the bang bang shrimp. If I get to go back I'll just order 2 of those & call it good! The spinach & artichoke appetizer was good, but offered a pretty standard flavor profile. The seared salmon was the best salmon dish I've tasted in a long time, paring nicely with the mashed potatoes & roasted veggies that came with it. Both cocktails were amazing, but my wife said the blackberry margarita was fantastic. The most negative thing about GH was extremely limited indoor seating availability & the lack of reservations, but now you've been warned. It was a short trip for us, but we will be back to GH on our next visit to Fredericksburg for sure.

But they said we could go in the bar and wait and as we did a table opened up that we all fit on which was awesome! The bar area was just like you'd expect to see in Texas. Cowboy hats, wooden floors to dance on. The music they were playing was a mix of old school 90s and 2000s which I appreciated! We ordered our food which took about 50 min to come out! Thankfully we were all enjoying the vibe that it distracted us from how long we had to wait. Even for a 9 top on a Saturday night, almost an hour seems still too long. I asked if they could take the batter off my chicken fried steak but they told me no that's essentially a steak and I'd have to pay full price for a steak which was upwards of over $50. Which was silly to me. My stomach doesn't do well with a lot of fried but the mashed potatoes and homemade gravy for the fried steak and veggies that came with the chicken fried steak sounded good so I wanted that versus a regular steak. And after I ate it I instantly regretted it about 30 min later bc although it was yummy at the time, boy did it do a number on my tummy. Just heavy. So wish they'd made that accommodation for me instead of trying to nickel and dime me. But the live music and dancing that followed helped me take my mind off it (and the sweet bartender who gave me warm lemon water for my stomach). The band was awesome and they played top 40 hits. The crowd was friendly and had a great night singing and dancing celebrating my sweet friends birthday. Such a great atmosphere and would love to bring people there and do it again. Maybe next time, I'll just order chicken ;)

First course was crab lobster cakes. They looked over cooked but tasted pretty good. Next I had the French onion soup. It smelled of burnt cheese when they put it in front of me. But once I got passed that, the souo was good. Hubby enjoyed his cesar salad. I ordered surf and turf with risoto and broccolini. The bacon wrapped shrimp was also very charred and steak was very very salty. It was however cooked to order. If you like a lot of salt then you may like it. The risoto and broccolini were good. Hubbys rib eye was rare (mooing) just like he likes it. He enjoyed the seasonal vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. Desert is made to order so it took about 30 minutes after order to get it. But it was worth it! The wild blueberry pie was the best part of the meal. It was a large handpie stuffed with these flavorful wild blueberries and ice cream on the side. We were full but managed to eat the whole thing! 8'oclock is when the music starts in the saloon. If you want a nice quiet romantic dinner then definitely go before 8. The music was very loud. In the saloon it was way too loud so we didn't stay for the band.

We started off with a couple of $10 martinis and decided on four happy hour menu items. My shrimp Po boy came on a crunchy French baguette and the Seabass was cooked to perfection. No wonder this place was packed. At six on the dot a pianist took the stage and livened up the atmosphere. The happy hour crowd trickled out, and the dinner folks strolled in. We added their bruschetta as the final piece and it was really very fresh. Some notes of interest that others may have missed: 3% credit card fee, no wifi and there's mouthwash for you in the bathroom.
