I go to Tropical Park all the time but this was my first time going to hit zone, and it was such a fun experience. As someone who does not play baseball/softball I was worried about how I would enjoy it, but that was not an issue at all. I was able to rent a bat, hit a few rounds (each token gets you 18 throws), and enjoy an icee. This is great for practicing or just for a fun date.

My love and I have been seeking a stress reliever and we decided to go play some baseball at a cool spot located in Tropical park. The batting cage was great because you decide what speed you want your ball to go it ranges from 50 mph to 90 mph. You can choose baseball or softball which has a low speed and high speed as well. Since this was my first time here I decided on the soft pitch softball that has a bigger ball and felt easier to hit. Overall this place was pretty cool! A great spot for families to enjoy some outdoor activities. Inside they have a vending machine with drinks and some snacks. No bathroom which is killer you must walk to the nearest little house and is open to the public. The prices are decent and you are allowed to bring your own snacks and drinks. All ages are welcome they also have a smaller area for children which allows you to play one on one. Can't wait to come back and take my son.

I'm always in the cages, perfecting my craft, this is one of the best batting locations I have been too and I've been to a variety of places.

He was a poet, revolutionary philosopher, journalist, translator, professor, publisher, and author of "Cultivo Una Rosa Blanca" . He dedicated his life to the promotion of liberty and political independence for Cuba. His death during a battle against Spanish troops at the Battle of Dos Ríos was used to rally people to the cause of the independence of Cuba from Spain. The land the park is on has a lot of history. This area was used by the Tequesta people around 400 AD. In 1982 while developing the park, underneath I-95, an ancient Tequesta camp was discovered. Pottery shards, shell tools, arow heads, and a woman's grave were excavated. In 1959 Fidel Castro took over Cuba transforming it into a communist state. Refugees began fleeing the island for Miami. In 1980, 4,000 Cuban political refugees who fled Cuba during the Mariel boat lift took refuge in a tent city here for two months. On October 27, 1984 the park opened and was dedicated to José Martí. The park is located directly on the historic Miami River where today you can enjoy stunning views as the boats sail by. Park amenities include a public pool, playground, outdoor fitness equipment, basketball court, picnic tables, and a community center offering summer and winter camps, and youth and teen programs. The park also has a bust of José Martí donated to the city by Cuba in the 1950s. José Martí park is part of the Miami River Greenway, a 6.2 mile trail that begins at Bayfront Park and ends at NW 24th Ave. The trail links neighborhoods, businesses, cultural attractions, historic sites, and nine public parks along both banks of the Miami River.

Here is some info about this wonderful area - Named after the Cuban patriot and poet who devoted his life to the idea of liberating his country, Jose Marti Park is a 1.7 acre green space along the Miami River, just minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown Miami. Popular with locals and visitors of all ages looking for a quick escape, the park features a public riverwalk that runs the length of its grounds with benches where you can read a book and watch boats float by. Recreational Activities Among the park's recreational features are indoor and outdoor basketball courts, an indoor gym, recreation building and picnic tables. Younger visitors can play in the park's large playground, which features a variety of structures for climbing, swinging and sliding, plus a covered play area and a grassy field for kickball and other games. Pool & Water Aerobics A six-lane, 25-meter pool at Jose Marti Park is the ideal spot for lap swimmers, with some or all lanes dedicated to lap swimming at various times throughout the week. There's also a learn to swim program and water aerobics classes. Yoga & Community Activities In need of a little centering after a hectic day? Before most of these soccer fields and adult leagues popped up around the Miami area, South Florida Club Sport was setting up soccer leagues at the KSP field (even before it expanded and is what it is today) and let me tell you, they know how to organize sports very, VERY well. I've played in several leagues for SFCS from 2005 till now and that just shows you how awesome they are. Not only was it a great way for me to stay in shape but the best part about it was I also met and made lifelong friends through the various leagues I joined throughout the years. Additionally, I've had many interactions with the owner of the company, Steve Arsenault, and he is nothing short of professional as well as friendly. He's always open to feedback from the league members so if you ever find yourself thinking of ways to improve the league you're playing in, just reach out to him and he'll be all ears. He also tries to set up other social events and trips for the league members which is always appreciated and enjoyable. What else is there to say except that this company has consistently established solid leagues for all kinds of sports and has brought the Miami community together in a social and fun way. If you're new to Miami or a native Miamian (Broward County counts, too), make it a point to join one of their leagues. You will not regret it! Their motto to me should be, "SFCS - making adult soccer leagues cool since the early 2000s."

A great community resource... if you can access it…read more The park and pool's website information has not been updated. Hours and cost information listed online are not correct. The pool is lovely and well-maintained. You can swim laps, paddle around, or take swimming lessons at different times of the day. I tried to use the pool a couple of times during the day but wasn't able to because it was either mysteriously closed or had no public access - swim lessons were being given. The changing rooms are a bit... Spartan and rustic - nothing but a few benches in a concrete box. Do not go by the hours listed online. You have to physically go to the pool and look at the noticed posted at the pool entrance. (see photo) The price online is also wrong. The fact that it is late June and the Recreation Center sill has a lit Christmas tree in the lobby lets you know that oversight and management is nearly non-existent. If they don't have the leadership to pack a Christmas tree in a box, then certainly don't expect the website to show current information.

I was worried they wouldn't take credit cards since it's such a low fee, but they do. The pool didn't feel like a typical 25 yard length, so I asked the lifeguard and he says it's a 33 meter pool. Bear in mind as you plan your workout. Pool has five or six lanes and is flanked by bleachers and some very basic changing room/shower facilities. Lap swim hours (pictured) are pretty extensive Monday through Friday. Less so Saturday and Sunday but still workable. I came in the middle of a work day and had a lane to myself.
