I came to this Petco on a Sunday evening and found so many issues with their pet care that, if I was a manager at this location, would leave me scared for my job. The birds did not have appropriate access to cuttle bones and so therefore their breaks were growing and on the way to piercing their bottom beak. The gerbils had hides smaller than my fist forcing them to stand against each other inside to sleep. The guinea pig habitats were too small for fully grown pigs and the main enclosure was OPEN. MOLD was growing inside the "desktop" pac-man from containers and at least two jumping spiders were completely dead. I had to rifle through their entire stock of mealworms just to find one container that had at least ten alive. I reached out to the appropriate persons and no one thought it necessary to try to contact me to fix these issues. I will link photos below.

This red barn was such a charming find in Loxahatchee Groves. Loxahatchee Groves is a very rural…read morearea of south Florida. People choose to live here so they can have farms, horses, and other animals. Red Barn Feed & Supply Inc., was created in 1989 by Jerry and Betty Case in response to the need for high quality food and products for the animals of Palm Beach County. Red Barn started out as a feed store and has now grown to over 20,000 feet to offer products for animals and their caretakers. Animal feed was where Red Barn started in business and they offer food for livestock and house pets but they can also supply for exotic pets as well. In addition to food they offer shelters, pens, toys, harnesses, leashes, treats, dishes, water bottles, and anything else you might need related to animal and pet care including grooming, housing, and bedding. I was able to pick up food for my bunny Hopper. I looked at some really nice houses for him and if I ever get a windfall, the $700 bunny mansion is ear marked for him. Red Barn also sells fencing and lawn care products for your home or farm, shirts, boots, jeans hats, and accessories, vegetable plants, and local honey. It is kind of like a neighborhood general store. On October 22nd they are holding a farmers market. ,

This store has gone downhill since I first started going there over ten yrs. ago. Here are some…read moreissues that I have had with them. First off who sells mice and puts them in a paper bag that they can easily chew right through? To save a buck or two they put feeders - both rats and mice in very flimsy containers that they can easily escape from by chewing their way through. in your car. They even have the nerve to try to sell you a plastic container which cost too much to begin with. Who does that? Okay here's the big one. For years they have sold me what was suppose to be adult mice. They were instead as small as hoppers or small juveniles. This place is a total rip off. They also will make you wait around if there are other customers in the store that are interested in buying a pricey animal such as a rabbit etc. Often times I came to the store in a hurry and even after telling them that I needed to hustle I ended up spending upwards of twenty minutes or more. Up until recently the place was horribly dirty and the cages with animals in them looked mostly unkempt. As a result of selling me mice numerous times in a very flimsy container they escaped while in my car and pretty much rotted in my car before I found them. But is was too late by then. My car has a horrible smell like dead roadkill. Thanks a lot for ruining my car. I should never have bought from you guys and you can count on me never buying anything from you guys again.....PERIOD!!!!! And store employees that work there now are ridiculously rude. Plus they use a very old credit card machine and software system which constantly fails on the swipe. Last time I visited he repeatedly tried my card and every time he tried to swipe my card it said invalid pin number. So now if I were to go there I have to withdraw cash because they refuse to replace the garbage and decrepit hardware and software that is probably as old as I am. I'm done being their decade long loyal customer. And I should have taken the case with my car to small claims court to pay for the damages of their mice escaping in my car due to their cheap way of sticking the feeders in anything that happens to be sitting around. So don't be surprised if they try to sell you a box or other carrier just to hold your feeders until you get home. Ridiculous to the core...Jon
