There are 2 locations north of Toronto, north essentially the same. It a large open space with tables far enough apart that you don't feel like you're sitting right next to strangers. There are a few appetizers like the cheese bread and some grilled vegetables. These are bland and have no real flavour. Their corn bread, however, is fantastic. The meat variety is good. Of course, they have picanha (a Brazilian cut of meat), Parmesan sirloin steak, sausage, chicken, grilled pineapple, shrimp, and others. They have beans and rice too. The staff walk around constantly and offer food. They're friendly and are happy to give you an extra piece of meat if that's the one you really like. These reason for 4 stars is that its nearly impossible to get meat that's prepared medium or well done. Not all my family likes rare/medium rare, and while it's possible to request well done, it takes 15-20 minutes to get 2 little pieces of meat by which time you're ready for more and have to wait another 15-20 minutes. The Portuguese tarts served with gelato were absolutely delicious--warm, flaky, and the perfect balance of sweetness. We also had the crème brûlée, which had a perfectly crisp caramelized top with a rich, creamy custard underneath. It was the perfect way to end an incredible meal. A huge thank you to Sarah and Jeff, who made both visits so memorable. They were warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made us feel like valued guests. Which kind of resembles the breakfast potatoes (home fries) you get at breakfast spots but elevated , seasoned well and a nice red sauce base and a white sauce top. We ordered some mussels. So they take the mussel on a half shell, remove the mussel mix it with some stuff and put it back on the shell, then batter and fry it. By the time it's fried you don't know which side the shell is on so you need to bite into it slowly . We ordered the chick which is pretty small portion wise (2 small thighs) and will run you about $30. Delicious sauce and very juicy. We ordered a pork chop ($48) , not sure if the pink would scare you , but it was delicious and was quite tasty I found. The mushrooms $18)was a real winner for me.
