I live in SD and had some hesitation to get my procedures done in Mexico. I spent 1.5 years researching multiple doctors in Baja California and want to share my experience to try to save some of you time and effort.
I weighted about 135-140 lbs prior to my procedure (HD lipo and BBL), and I am 5 ft 4in tall. I had a 'normal' body type and just wanted to fine tune my belly area.
I found Dr. Renato on IG. I started watching his videos on YouTube. I really liked his results because they looked very natural a lot of times. Prior to making my appointment, I went to Hispali and parked outside the clinic to make sure it was legit. lol. It was. I saw multiple people come in and out of the office so I felt more comfortable.
I reached out to Dr. Renato's team in October 2021 and was able to get my in-person interview with him in two weeks. Disclosure, you do have to pay a $1,000 deposit to see the Dr. in person. However, I think you can call and see if you can give a smaller deposit if you are not 100% ready to commit to the surgery. When I saw him I told him I wanted to focus on getting rid of the fat in my belly area. He was super nice and honest. He recommended I do a BBL to increase fullness of my buttocks and to remove fat between my legs. He said it would still would natural. I decided to go for all his recommendations. I was able to get my surgery at the end of October! How amazing is that! Other Dr.'s have very long wait times. I had some vacation time scheduled so I needed to get the procedure done as soon as possible. The Dr. was very flexible with my schedule.
In total, I paid $4,000 for the procedure. The fee included the operation fees, 1 night at the hospital, and follow up visits. In addition to that, I paid about $600 in medication and $300 in hotel fees to stay an extra night in town prior to returning to the US. I also bought several garments in smaller sizes and that added up to another $500. I recommend you buy your garments directly from Marena, as you can save some money this way. They have discounts if you buy two of the same garments. I also recommend the Marena brand, also sold at the Dr.'s office. I tried other garment brands and they were not as comfortable as this brand. Lastly, remember to do your lymphatic drainage massages after your procedure. They run from $80-$150/each in San Diego. I ended up getting a few massages done here but most of them in Tijuana (Balance Therapy Spa $30/massage) and Rosarito (LeSpa $25/massage). I liked the service and expertise of the therapists in Mexico than in SD - at least this was my experience. You can schedule your massages on Saturdays so you can go to MX to get them and save a bunch of $$. In terms of recovery time, I'd suggest you take at a minimum 5-7 days off work. The 1st 5 days were somewhat painful and uncomfortable- much less than what I expected. Note that recovery time will vary depending on your procedure. Take care of yourself after surgery if you want a speedy recovery.
Let me cover the basics. The staff members who work with the Dr. are AMAZING! They were checking in with me prior to the procedure and after the procedure. I loved them. The hospital where the procedure is done is also AMAZING. I had soo many nurses supporting me when I was there. I have never felt that pampered in my life.
The Dr. is also super thorough. He made me have many exams to ensure I was healthy enough before the procedure.
I really hope this will be helpful for anyone looking to choose a trusted Dr. to discuss their procedures with.
Dr. Renato Rodriguez at Hispali is a freaking artist. I loved the way my buttocks look. My whole body looks amazing. I feel amazing.
Thanks so much Dr.
