I started with a consultation about 14-15 months ago my procedure was January 2022. From the start it was very comfortable to discuss the procedures with Dr. Castillo and his staff. They were straight out with me and educated me on the procedures and the best way to correct the areas of concern for me. The day of the procedure everything went right on time- hospital staff were friendly the room was very nice even with a bed for my husband to stay over. I was so comfortable and had so much trust on the Dr and his staff. Once I woke up from my procedure I had no pain at all. It really didn't start until the next day- but with meds and special care I was good. I have to emphasize they really care for their patients. Their facility/office is very nice and clean too. I had to have a suture re-done months later and they were great and prompt to fix that for me. I am writing this review to share my unfortunate experience with Dr. Rodolfo Castillo Calderón following my breast reduction surgery. I initially chose Dr. Castillo with hopes of enhancing my confidence and improving my body image, but the outcome has left me feeling more insecure than ever. From the beginning, I felt that my concerns and desires were not fully understood. Unfortunately, the results of the surgery have been far from what I expected. The size of my breasts is now much smaller than I envisioned, which has left me feeling disproportionate and dissatisfied. Additionally, the incisions made during the procedure were not placed correctly, resulting in visible scars that are particularly problematic when I try to wear low-cut tops. This was a major concern for me, and I feel disappointed that it was not addressed with the precision and care that I expected from a professional of Dr. Castillo's stature. Perhaps most disheartening is the appearance of my nipples. The excess skin around the areola has caused them to look deflated, which has impacted my self-image in a way I never anticipated. Instead of feeling empowered and confident, I now find myself struggling with new insecurities I've never had to deal with before. I am 2 weeks post op today. First I want to say that all of Dr. Castillo's staff are 10/10 the best! You are safe in their hands whatever procedure you want/need done. Second I want to say that I am almost 20 years post bariatric surgery where I lost 100 pounds and in September of 2024 I started glp1 to loose the last 40 pounds. So I have lost a lot of weight. In 2009, I had a breast and arm lift at 160 lbs stateside in California. 2 weeks ago I had a total upper body lift at 130 pounds to account for the additional weight loss but also to correct some of the first procedures problems. The entire team at Dr. Castillo's office was wonderful. They were professional, knowledgeable and maintained the highest standards of care throughout my experience. I have already recommended him to friends and family, and would definitely consider going back for more procedures. From the time I was picked up in San Diego, to my stay in the hospital and recovery, I felt very supported and that my care was well managed. I had very minimal pain and discomfort, and luckily no nausea either. I was even able to eat a full meal on the night after my surgery. I was up and walking on day 2 and things have only improved from there. I'm currently 8 days out, back home and couldn't be happier with my results and the swelling isn't even gone yet. My tremendous experience with Dr. Castillo's office began with filling out a questionnaire and providing photos and a list of the procedures I was contemplating. The office then scheduled a free consultation over Zoom where we discussed the options: upper eyelid surgery, a partial or full face lift and injection of my own body fat underneath my eyes and into the smile lines. During our meeting, the doctor talked me out of the more expensive face lift. Never have I received better care before and after the procedure. First off, Dr. Castillo is a world class surgeon who is certified to practice in the United States. Secondly, there was almost no pain after the procedure itself thanks to the one night hospital stay that was included in the cost. Third, the cost itself was less than half that I would have paid in San Francisco. Fourth, the luxury hotel for $130/night was a stone's throw away from Dr. Castillo's office. Fifth, after my release, there was no pain whatsoever. During the 5 day recovery period, I took two ibuprofen in total. Sixth, the nurse followed up several times during the recovery period to make sure I was okay. After 5 days, the doctor removed my switches. I had such a great experience with Dr Castillo and all his staff. I got a full body lift (belt lipectomy in fleur de lis) in 9/2022 after loosing 200 lbs. I'm writing this review now because I'm going back to get additional work done. I live in San Diego so it would have been easy to cross the border, but they have an all inclusive package that included transportation across, hotel, meds, compression garments, etc. That made everything so easy and put any nerves I had to rest. The after care was mostly done by text or in an app, so I didn't need to cross the border, although I did by their recommendation and my choice. It did take about a year to fully recover from my stomach incisions where all 3 major incisions meet together, in a spot where you can't help but move. And I no longer have a belly button because of the way I healed, lol. Even with these experiences healing, I don't even mind because I feel so good about myself now. They were also open on the weekends for appointments so it fit in well with my schedule. Don't ever go to this Doctor!! my friend is in the hospital fighting for her life. she did a BELT, lIPECTOM INFLEUR DE LIS, LIPO + BBL, 360 body LIFT, and a BL and he didn't put ports to drain the blood. She got a severe infection called ESBL, Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamase, this is an infection that won't respond to antibiotics she can die!!! This Doctor said that he would take care of her. But instead, he mutilated her!! her skin is now infected and dying, He claimed he did a BBL but he didn't do it!! and he charged her!! I went to Dr Castillo on December 14 2021 for a abdominoplasty and bbl. It took 4 tries to insert the epidural, The Bbl was not performed and I woke up twice during surgery of liposuction. I now have nightmares from that part of my surgery. When I woke up I realized I had no drains when I asked the doctor why I had no drains, he stated that the bilateral sutures that he used he didn't need to place a drain which I took him at his word as he is a doctor however I thought it was weird that any surgery you have pretty much require a drain. His nurse Vivian came in to put a garment on me and when she did she hooked the garment in to my lower incision near my vagina as I screamed out in pain Tina Munoz who is Dr. Castillo's office manager walked in and said no no no and removed it from me I was in excruciating pain. I was told I was fine and to follow up if I had additional pain. I went to the recovery home they recommended and other patients there were very shocked when they saw I had no drains as some of them had the same procedure as me. All night I was having hot sweats and chills couldn't sleep and I was in so much pain I called the doctor and he would not respond finally we get a response to come into the office. I was meant by Tina in the office and she asked for the balance due before I could see the nurse I told her I just gave you $10,000 cash I will not give you another dime until I see the doctor. The doctor came in looked over my sutures and said that I was fine I was just in pain and offered me pain medication for an additional cost of $300. I was in such excruciating pain that I accepted the medication which was an injection and a pain patch. Once I got back to the recovery home I was still in excruciating pain on my six days postop prior to me coming home I went back to see the doctor and told him I was still in severe pain he summed it up to healing process and said that I was fine to take the sutures off on day 14, Data and I couldn't take it anymore and I remove the Sutures as you can see the first photo and I apologize for the gore I have a tear and it's very much inflamed I text Tina as well as emailed her with no response for the next five days. On the night of the 27th I couldn't take the pain anymore and I had my father take me to the emergency room which once they saw the tear I was rushed to emergency surgery for a debridement of the wound. I woke up to a hole in my gut and a wound VAC place and was told that they cultured the wound to see what type of infection it is. 24 hours later I was moved into isolation as I contracted an ESBL infection which is highly contagious and it had not only got into my saliva in urine but also was in my blood. The doctor here told me that if I had waited much longer I could've died. I then tried to get a hold of Dr Castillo and Tina again and it wasn't until I threaten to go on social media and post these pictures and tell my story of how they conduct business that I got a phone call. I was told they never receive my calls or my emails but what was funny is that Tina text me while on the phone to "test" and I received it with no problem. I then told her that I would like to talk to Dr Castillo and also that from looking over my sutures and the Lipo holes that the BBL was not performed The only difference to my butt is it look like he pulled up a pair of pants and just made it tighter there is no volume to either side of my butt cheeks. I then asked for a partial / full refund because I have been in the hospital and I am accruing a large bill as well as being out of work. Dr Castillo laughed at me and said he's never heard of an ESBL infection, I told him to Google it as he told me to Google why does it need a drain with bilateral sutures. The doctor refuses to respond to me and Tina will only email me very vaguely after a 4th or 5th request has been sent, I have kindly repeatedly asked for the last name of the nurse who created the tear I have kindly asked for the names of the individuals who are part of my surgery with no avail. I was hoping the doctor would take accountability for his actions and his mistakes and at least give me a partial refund back however Tina has told me the surgery was performed successfully and they have already paid the third parties so they will not give me any sort of refund back but if I need any revisions or corrections they'd be more than happy to schedule me an appointment of course with a price. If Dr. Castillo perform the surgery as he told me he was I don't feel that I would have contracted this infection and I would be very happy with the outcome but because of his lack of sanitation and his teams negligence I have no choice other than to let other patients know what I have been going through for almost a month now and I honestly hope and pray that no one trust Dr Castillo and especially Tiina Munoz as their words don't carry any weight when you're ignored once you've paid your bill. read more

This has been the worst experience of my life. I went in for a thigh lift with liposuction and pubic lift, I spent $6800 and look horrible. I was told that my legs would receive liposuction from the knees up. The Doctor said that he would do everything but the back of my legs. I was ok with that, but that didn't happen. The Doctor convinced me that the best approach for my thigh lift would be to do an outer then inner thigh lift which cost more money. The end result is horrible. I also wanted a pubic lift and the Doctor said that he would make the cut on the scar from my 360 body lift. The results are horrible. I still have the same saggy pubic area. I was wrapped up when I woke from surgery but knew there were issues. I messaged Tiina after surgery to say that my knees had not received liposuction as promised. I was wrapped up so that's what I noticed. She told me we could address that at my 5 day follow up. I realized the full scope of my botched surgery the following few days. I was very upset and didn't even want to attend my 5 day follow up, but still went in because I wanted to ask the Doctor why he didn't do the procedures' as discussed. He replied that I never told him about the issues. It left me speechless. I was only in that appointment for 5 minutes, I quickly dressed and left. He offered no resolution and just stared at me. I haven't heard from the office since. I told Tiina that I would be writing this review and that I will be posting a video online, but she never responded. I do think the Doctor is a nice guy, but he botched my surgery and won't own up to it. I look worse than I did before the surgery. I've had previous surgeries including a 360 lift, my chest, a previous thigh lift, and a torsoplasty. This surgery was to remove the leg fat I have been unable to lose with diet and exercise , remove the excess skin and remove the excess skin in my pubic region. I have many emails with Tiina that I will share in the video that I will be posting. I had surgery on November 4th. Today is December 2nd. I waited this long for swelling to go down so I could take pictures. I am realistic and would have been happy with a 50 percent improvement on my body, but now I look worse.
