As soon as I step in the door I know I'll get a friendly hello and offer of help from whoever's working the counter. Owner Jim Welna and his staff have proven time and time again they're more than happy to go the extra mile to come up with solutions to problems. Plus, when it comes to product recommendations, I can trust they'll steer me in the right direction. Instead of the most expensive item, they'll show me what's locally produced, eco-friendly, AND most cost effective. If they don't have what I need they'll do what they can to make sure I get it. Finally I got an appointment today (9/15) with THE contractor/representative (name left out for now) to meet and discuss, however he claimed that nothing was wrong. He foot-pressed on the pop-out-plunk and called it good. Here are a few pictures to show the condition after they "finished" the project. No transition pieces, gaps everywhere, carpet threads on trim, dirt and dust everywhere, popped-out plunks, etc...which left me in tears when I stepped in the first time after the project. Help

Their other shops in St Paul, St. Louis Park, and Stillwater are open 7 days a week. Every time I come here there are constantly changing and exciting treasures to look at and find. On my most recent visit they had an open house of the "Makers Cottage" next door- a beautifully custom designed home with several rooms and an inviting deck available to rent for events or overnights or what have you. They also host an annual vintage market at the end of the summer in the backyard/field with many other vendors. Very limited parking in the driveway of the building mostly for loading items into your car. Just plan to park on the street unless you come close to closing time. My wife uses scented spray on the sheets and pillow cases and the over-spray was causing dark spots on the finish. We brought the bed back into the shop, accepted responsibility for the issue and agreed on a price for the repair. After 10 months waiting, it was obvious Vern had no intention of performing the repair. If he wasn't happy with the agreed on price, Vern should have let us know there was an issue, but he did not. I picked up the bed, un-repaired, soot and dirt covered from sitting all that time unprotected in the back shop. We will clean up the bed and use it again, but what a terrible experience.
