I like that we were able to schedule a virtual consultation during COVID. I sent Hirshfield's photos and measurements before the consultation. The customer service rep, Beth was pleasant and informative on the call. She told me she'd draft up a quote based on our living room's details/measurements. However, when I received the quote, there was a miscalculation on how many windows we had. Also, the price was quite outrageous! I emailed her back asking her to revise the quote and make some other adjustments to lower the price, but I received NO response. I thought that was kind of rude. Overall, I won't be going with Hirshfield's because it felt like they aren't considerate of their customer's needs or budget.

We had planned a gathering at our home and expected to use the grill today, but that was not possible due to the condition in which it arrived. When I called the store, the only solution offered was to have the grill picked up and replaced with a fully assembled one on the next available delivery date, Saturday, 3/28/2026. I understand that mistakes can happen, and this would not have been a major issue if I didn't have plans for today. Unfortunately, because of this situation, I had to go out and purchase another grill from a different store in order to proceed with our planned event.

Was told 3 days work. 2 coats of paint on the ceiling and the walls. The person doing the skim coat proceeded to skim over bubbled wall board paper and then pointed it out like it was my issue. I went and purchased the Zinser BIn sealer for him to use the next day. He was skeptical, but used it and it solved the issue, although he did have to sand and redo the skim coat. (HIS ERROR)The bubbles were evident BEFORE he started. In the end the charged me an extra 1000.00 and finished on time, but left 1 and 1/2 gallons of paint unused, and only started painting at noon on Friday. They were gone and packed up by 3:30 on the 3rd day. HOW is it possible they could have put on 2 coats of paint on the walls in 3 hours. Paint can states 4 hours between coats. We wanted to have our house stained and our deck and front porch cleaned and stained…read more Got 4 bids,3 of which we found on Angie's list. Jerry seemed very knowledgeable and fairly priced, so we went with him. It was a wet spring so we had to wait a bit, but eventually got the job done. Overall, his crew did an okay job on the house part of it. This is why I'm leaving the bad review. We have a 50' deck and a 20' front porch. Both of which, last summer I installed about 100' feet of cable railing, consisting of about 45 black painted stainless steel posts along with the cable that is strung through to make the railing. Along the top of that is 2x6 lumber that was to be stained, along with the surface of the decks. Not only did anyone not think about masking off the cable and posts, but the individual they had do the staining on this, got stain all over not only all the post, but the cables as well. When I saw this and brought it to the attention of the foreperson, nobody seemed to care enough to not only start to clean it off, but even care that much. It was only after texts, and phone calls to Jerry, did anyone try to do anything. Well, they needed an industrial type of aerosol paint remover to clean it. The areas where they could get it off, the removal product damaged the finish, and they still didn't even get it all off. At the end of the day, the only important thing for Jerry, was to get his check. I couldn't inspect the deck that night (because the surface was wet) so I didn't give his crew the rest of the money. So Jerry made sure to have his person stop by at 8:00am the next morning to make sure he got his money. After I slept on this for a few days, I called Jerry with my concerns about the rail. He was supposed to stop by that Friday, as he was going to be in the area, but he was a no show. Haven't heard from him since. If you hire him, I'd advise you sit and watch the type of job his people are doing. I assumed this was a professional outfit, and learned my lesson.
