I came here with my partner to celebrate a Valentine's Day lunch, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. My girlfriend ordered the torched salmon sushi set with inari rolls, which also came with three pieces of gyoza, while I went with the tempura rice bowl.
The tempura rice bowl was a pleasant surprise. The generous drizzle of sauces (teriyaki and spicy mayo) actually worked really well--it made the dish rich, filling, and packed with flavor. I especially enjoyed the variety of vegetable tempura; the batter was light, airy, and perfectly crispy.
My girlfriend's torched salmon sushi was just as impressive. It was topped with the same spicy mayo and teriyaki mix, which was a bit heavy-handed, but the salmon itself was thick, fresh, and absolutely delicious--easily the highlight of her set.
The only real drawback was the wait time, as the restaurant was clearly short-staffed (it is a mom-and-pop shop after all). It would also help if the menu listed dietary details more clearly, since the gyoza contained meat despite being included in what appeared to be a pescatarian-friendly sushi set.
That said, we had a wonderful lunch overall and would happily come back again.
