love this place ! the sushi roll was incredible. the torched salmon was so good, the crabmeat wasn't too creamy, the wasabi was good, I just wish they had pickled ginger instead of the normal kind. staff was super friendly and kind and sweet. I wish they had more space to be dine-in as being take out only is a bit of pain but alas the sushi is good so I can't complain. My partner and I decided to celebrate the end of our quarantine period by ordering some take-out from Roll Roll. The call was quick and easy and pick up was extremely sanitary. I waited outside for the patrons before me to complete their order, and the hostess took time to sanitize everything before I entered. I didn't need to touch anything besides the platter, and the sanitized debit machine. Now...the sushi...my goodness!! We ordered the small combo platter. While a bit more expensive than other places, I absolutely LOVE their spin on sushi. I believe they included: -The Bruce Roll which was crab meat,cucumber inside torched salmon & jalapeno on top (Super tasty!) -Roll Roll Roll - Shrimp Tempura, cucumber, avocado inside, spicy crabmeat on top (This was my favourite!) -California roll and some salmon sushi and a few bites of sashimi Overall, the platter was presented beautifully with some cute accents of dried fruit and greens and it was filling for the 2 of us. Me and my boyfriend ordered the small platter and it came with around 35 rolls. The sushi was super fresh and I loved the couple of torched rolls we got. We ordered this on the day of, even though they recommend calling 48 hours in advance for some platters, and they finished it in around 40 minutes! Although it was a little pricey ($45) it was definitely worth it. The torched sushi pieces were not as buttery as the expensive ones in Toronto but keep in mind, in Toronto, you'd be paying upwards of $20 for around 6-8 pieces of torched sushi. One thing I did realize is that we did not get wasabi nor did we find any in the rolls itself so maybe next time, ask for wasabi or double check if you've received it! read more

A great addition to the food scene of a city that's in desperate need of good sushi options. Juxtaposed against the quaint old backdrop of Wortley village, Roll Roll holds its own against the other impressive food options in its area. We ordered the small sushi platter which came with a mix of maki and nigiri. The small platter comes with two special rolls (pro tip: you can ask them which special rolls you would like and they do their best to accommodate). We got the black dragon and the Wortley roll as our two special rolls, and both were delicious. All the maki rolls were filled with fish and toppings, and the rice was fairly light. The unagi on the black dragon was sweet with a lovely char and the scallops on the Wortley roll worked well with the toppings to create a very flavorful bite in each piece. While the location and the aesthetic is charming, and the staff are incredibly friendly, one drawback of this restaurant is the fact that there is limited capacity (both in seating and turnover). The restaurant can only accommodate approximately 10 diners comfortably and there is only one sushi chef working at a time. A good way around this is to call ahead on the day of or even a day before to place your order for pickup! Overall a great experience, will definitely be back in the future. read more

My boyfriend has been telling me about this sushi restaurant for the last few months (he claims it's one of the best sushi places in London!). I finally went to try it out with him over the weekend. We gave the restaurant a call to order our sushi (it's more of a take-out restaurant, with a couple of seats should you choose to eat in). The staff was very friendly and accommodating and let us know about the sushi platter deals (10% off if paying in cash). We considered the sushi platter, but decided against it as we were told that everything is "random" - this essentially meant they would select which rolls to give you and the amount of sashimi to serve you. We decided to opt for the following instead: Bruce roll $14 Wortley roll $16 Torched press sushi BBQ eel $18 Salmon sashimi $5.5 Scallop sushi $5.5 Although on the pricier end, everything was really fresh and delicious. Coming from Toronto, this was definitely comparable (if not better) than some of the sushi restaurants I've been to. I honestly loved everything we ordered and would recommend it! read more

Dare I say the best sushi place in London and the nicest owners I ever did meet! A must try for local sushi lovers! Call ahead if you want to dine in as the shop is very small and there are only two small tables available. This place is meant for takeout. They have a grab & go fridge with their most popular rolls which are 20% off the menu price, but you can also order off their regular menu. Lots of unique flavours to choose from! This is hands down the best sushi spot in London. I ordered the salmon poke bowl and the spicy crispy salmon roll and they were both excellent, and tasted so fresh! The two dishes totalled to around $28 (plus tip). I give this place a 4.5/5 as the price is a little bit on the pricey side, has very limited seating (only 2 tables and a little mini bar type table), and I just wish they had a more diverse menu. This is exactly everything I have ever wanted sushi to be. We came in today just as they were closing the kitchen, but they were so nice as to keep running a little longer to fill our orders. We took a few items to-go, so I had the opportunity to try out a few different items. All of the sushi I tried tasted so much more... vibrant - that's the best word - compared to anywhere else I've been in London. One of the best ways to judge the quality of food in my opinion is to look at the ratio of expensive to inexpensive ingredients. You can take a look at the pictures yourself. They are very generous with the ratio of the expensive ingredients in the centre vs the amount of rice surrounding it. On the other hand, most other sushi places I have been to use a very thick layer of rice to pad the fact that they are skimping on the more expensive ingredients in the centre. But that is certainly not the case here! My personal favourite was the Wortley. Such an incredible diversity of flavours and textures! Honourable mention to the plating of the salmon sashimi, which was nothing short of masterful. read more

Just went here to grab a quick bite for dinner. I live in Wortley, so I've been meaning to go here since it opened a while ago. It's slightly on the pricey side ($16 with tax for takeout sushi), but given that this is Wortley I'm not surprised. They have a small place to sit down with like three tables, but both the cook and the server/cashier were very friendly. I honestly have no idea which one I got. It's on the top left of their made rolls. The taste is totally worth the price. It's incredibly flavourful and fresh. I will definitely be back the next time I'm craving sushi. read more

Small sushi place in the Village. Just a few two-top tables. There is a cooler with a few pre-made options. I would have opted for a dragon or spider roll but the pre-made versions contained ingredients that I couldn't eat. We tried the six-piece salmon and California roll box. It came with a small salad, but again it was made with ingredients that I couldn't have. Maybe we will do better when there is a menu for order take-out. Delicious! Very friendly staff. Only two tables to dine in so don't go expecting to have a seat. They do take reservations which is nice. I had the black dragon roll and my fiancee had the Wortley roll both were amazing. The Wortley roll was fresh and 20% off as a daily special. The black dragon roll was made and torched in front of our eyes and is the best black dragon roll I have had! Salmon poke bowl ftw! Great portions. Bathroom is fairly clean. The inside of the restaurant only has a few chairs but it's cozy. Friendly service.
