Justin Hinkle of Hinkle Construction was very professional. His work on our rental condo was completed in a day as promised. This was important because the new tenant was moving in the following day. He did a great job. We communicated by text. He was very responsive. We will use him and his company again when we need handyman work or for a remodel. It is refreshing to find a contactor you can trust, who is dependable and does fine work. We recommend Hinkle Construction and Justin Hinkle for your construction needs! read more

I chose Hinkle Construction because I saw how professional they were in getting my neighbor's home addition done. I worked with them on a major remodel that I ended up postponing, but they were prompt and thorough in all the planning and permitting. I scaled back and used them for a partial remodel and they were just fabulous. Prompt, professional, communicative - which is a big plus for me - and very respectful in cleaning up their workspace each day. They helped me creatively tackle challenges, and always did it with a smile. I really can't wait to use them again and highly recommend them. read more

Love love love Mark and his crew. We did a very extensive remodel with Hinkle Construction and we are so happy with the work. Mark and Jorge (his foreman) have been incredibly responsive to any issues. While the scope of the work crept up (as it would when you open up walls and discover surprises left to you by former homeowners), they gave us different options, not necessarily just the most expensive one - and was always mindful when we were hesitant due to budget. The quality of the work is great, along with great communications, timing, and coordination. His sub-contractors are also timely, kind, and reliable. We said we wanted to be in our house by Christmas and they got us in on 12/20. Handled the permitting processes and everything was approved. Really can't ask for more. We have one more bathroom to remodel and we'll be definitely going back to Mark once we're ready to tackle that project. (Please don't hesitate to message me for more pictures of before and afters. I love showing off our remodel.) read more

We had a great experience working with the Hinkle team to remodel our kitchen. They were pleasant to work with, responsive to messages, and upfront with all their costs. Anytime unexpected issues came up due to our old construction, they were flexible and provided several options on how to proceed and we never felt pressured into any decisions. The work all came out great in the end and we're very happy with our new kitchen. We'll definitely go with them again for future projects and can highly recommend to them. read more

I'm so happy we went with Hinkle Construction for our remodel. They have been incredibly responsive, professional, and helpful on many fronts. The onsite team (JD & Josh) and all of their subcontractors (electrician, painters, countertop fabricator, backsplash tile person) have all exceeded our expectations. As soon as our electrical permit was approved, Hinkle Construction got to work. They managed to line up all the subcontractors perfectly such that there was no wait time in between deliverables. In exactly one month from start to finish, they did a complete kitchen remodel, master bathroom remodel, paint throughout the house, and new lighting throughout the house. Photo of kitchen remodel included in review. Thank you, Hinkle Construction! read more

This review is long overdue! Mark has been my Go-to contractor for several years. He is a fantastic and easy to work with partner with an amazing crew. They are timely, reliable, fair and transparent. We truly appreciate all they have done to make our dreams reality in our home. read more

A couple of months ago, my wife and I decided that our master bathroom needed to be updated. Since the contractor that we had used in the past is now retired, we needed to find someone that we could trust and that would do the job correctly. We had a contractor that we found at a home show give us an estimate, and it was very unsatisfactory. So we looked at remodel contractors in Yelp, and Mark Hinkle was right there at the top. We scheduled an appointment, and Mark came out and we discussed what we wanted, what options were available, and what the ballpark price would be, knowing that we'd add work as we went along (repiping, wall repair, upgraded fixtures, etc). We stopped shopping for a contractor at that point. Mark sent us off shopping with a list of things we needed to choose for the remodel (shower enclosure, vanity cabinet & countertop, fixtures, lights, etc). We also set a start date that would fit into his and our busy schedule. Mark provided us with a list of vendors that he trusts, and we did our shopping over the next couple of weeks, using Mark to bounce ideas off of. There are a lot of different choices out there, and my wife and I had a good time looking at everything and making our decisions. We got to pick exactly what we wanted for our new bathroom. Mark explained that a lot of the work would be serialized because he would need to demolish what we had, get things framed so the shower people could measure and manufacture our shower, have the plumber get the new plumbing ready, and an electrician to rewire for new receptacles, lights, and fan. Mark kept us very well informed about what was going to happen next and when it would happen. The work was done primarily with his team of workers, and the specialty stuff (electrician, plumber) done by sub-contractors. I have to say that Marks workers are the best that I've seen. They are professional, courteous, and very talented in their craft. The whole team is geared to provide excellence, quality, and cleanliness. We got everything we wanted in our new Master Bathroom and Mark made sure that the work was done to our satisfaction. He incorporated the special things that we wanted, and didn't flinch at including new copper piping, new bedroom ceiling, and some other minor fixit work around the house (all change-ordered, of course). I think we've found our new favorite remodel contractor. We'll have him back to do the next project that we decide needs to be done. Bottom line: Hinkle Construction is reliable, their prices are competitive, and their results will knock your socks off. read more

Hinkle Construction, Inc. - New vanity , mirror cabimets, and lights in master bedroom - General Contractors Near Me

Hinkle Construction did a fabulous job on my remodeling project, which was the addition of a new master bath and extension of master bedroom, plus construction of new backyard deck. New sewage drain was required, as well as extensive repair of old termite damage to foundation that extended into another part of the house, and Mark masterminded everything. Nothing was impossible or even difficult, it seemed, despite unexpected challenges (it's an old house). Mark is a terrific communicator - first, he's just about always accessible, and second, he's an excellent and sensitive listener to any questions or concerns. No detail was too small for his complete attention. Both his own crew members and all the subcontractors he arranged were top-notch. Hinkle Construction has my highest recommendation - I would definitely use them again if I were doing more remodeling. read more

I was so thrilled after reading all the Yelp reviews about this place - could it be? An amazing, fabulous contractor? Sadly, no. One of the other reviewers mentioned that this contractor is busy. Okay by me, I'm willing to wait for the right contractor. However, this contractor is only willing to make bid appointments between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday. No matter how long I am willing to wait, they have refused to make an appointment in the evenings or on the weekend. Unfortunately, I have a job. Don't people need jobs to pay for contractors? read more

I had water damage under my tiled floor around my bathroom shower, and a termite company bid just under $15,000 to repair it. The breakdown was $9,000 to replace the shower, and $6,000 to replace the floor. I have a somewhat large yet modest bathroom and knew the estimate was reckless and irresponsible, but it was disconcerting nonetheless. I decided to look for a general contractor, and it took two tries. I found the first one through a local bathroom showroom/store. After looking at the floor, he concluded I needed to replace the shower and the walls. The bid was for $5,000 (labor only) but the details of it made no sense to me, and after trying to clarify, I let it go. I then found Hinkle Construction on Yelp. Mark looked at my like-new house and figured the water damage was a fairly small repair job, not a major overhaul. But the only way to know for sure was to start cutting out the rotten wood and see how far it went. I gave the okay to attack the floor, and sure enough, the damage didn't go very far. An important factor here was Mark having the right attitude. He strongly felt (as I did) that redoing the whole tile floor would be a tremendous and unnecessary waste, and not just a waste of money but an unconscionable waste of materials. He sawed the tile out of the floor and was able to clean up and reuse key pieces. He cut open the wall on the backside of the shower to look for damage. There was none. Whereas others wanted to rip out the shower and replace it no questions asked, Mark cut open the back of the wall to prove that I didn't need to replace the shower. He then fixed everything back up like new. Grand total: under $2,000. But this wasn't a simple case of being relatively low cost. It was doing what needed to be done, no holds barred, and it still ended being relatively low cost. Still, I'd like to give fractionally less than five stars. The floor repair would have been (and could have been) perfect, except for one thing. There's a very subtle but perceptible pattern in the tile, but the tile installer apparently didn't notice it. Two tiles were installed at 90 degrees with respect to the other tiles on the floor. If you know to look for it, you can see it. read more

Hinkle Construction did a half bath for my wife and I when we moved in to our old house in 2012. It was completed on time with no surprise extra costs, and with admirable quality. His crew was very courteous and trustworthy. There was even an unforeseen issue during the electrical phase and the costs were not passed on to me. What sets Hinkle apart in my mind was what happened *3 years* later when we went to sell the house. It turned out the toilet hadn't quite been seated properly and this turned up in the inspection (it was minor enough that we never noticed and caused zero damage). Hinkle had his guys out the *next day* to fix the issue. No questions, no cost to me. We were able to have that removed from the inspection report before hitting the market without missing a beat. read more

Great contractor team to work with. Mark came by and explained everything that needed to be done. The estimate came back reasonable and thorough. The only drawback is because Mark and his team are so good at what they do, they are quite busy hence it took some time to schedule the job. I was not in a rush so it was not an issue for me. Jackie Hinkle who does a lot of the front office is a wonderful and very friendly person. She is very good at communicating via email and by phone. If there was a question, Jackie would answer it the same day (unless it was after hours then next working day). The work done by Mark and his crew was top notch. Mark came by and explained what needed to be done and kicked off the job. The project leader then took over. The job was done on time and in the manner that was described by Mark. A very professional experience. read more

My wife and I worked with Mark Hinkle for a full house remodel. Mark and his crew did a wonderful job. Mark Hinkle and his team just completed a remodel of our home, upstairs and down. The result and the construction work itself was the best remolding/construction experience we have ever had. I have worked with several contractors over the past many years and Mark's team has been by far the best. They were extremely responsive when issues arose (as they do with all construction jobs), and were on site immediately to make corrections. Jorge, Mark's project leader, commutated excellently during every step of the project. They were respectful of the difficulty we had in living in a construction zone (we lived upstairs when they worked downstairs and downstairs when they worked upstairs). The quality of their work is outstanding. They were also helpful and informative explaining positive alternatives to our design. Alternatives which improved the final look of our remodel. Plus, they are all very nice guys. I give my highest recommend Mark Hinkle Construction. read more

Hinkle Construction is a relationship I want to keep for a very long time. Mark and his crews do an amazing job. First, I value a good employer who can retain quality employees. Mark treats his employees right, and it shows in the work that his team does. I have used Hinkle Construction for several projects over the last three years, and I have always had the same crew coming to work on my home. About Mark: He values customer satisfaction. I am a bit of a perfectionist and a picky customer. I expect quality work for my money. Mark always makes sure that the quality meets my expectations. This is one of the reasons I keep using Hinkle Construction. This tells me a very good story of how Mark value his team and his team values working for him. I have been hiring Mark and Mark's crew for about 3 years plus with yearly projects. During that time, he always has the same crew coming to my house. About Mark: He values customer satisfaction. I am a bit of a perfectionist and a picky customer. I demand quality for the money I spend. Mark always ensures that the quality meets my standards. This is one of the reasons I keep going back to Hinkle Construction. About the crew: Let me just say that they are awesome. They are skilled; the understands quality; and they are polite. Also, they always leave my home clean and tidy once the project is done. Hinkle Construction may not always be the lowest priced option on the market. However, after using other contractors before finding Mark, I have learned that cheaper prices are not the best option at all. I would, without reservation, recommend Hinkle Construction to anyone. read more

This is going to be quite a long post. However, if you want to know the gist of my story I would like to state that we had a really good building experience with Hinkle Construction Inc (HCI). But if you have some free time then read on - Scope of work - Extending the existing living room by adding sq. ft. (i.e. new addition), demolishing brick fireplace and chimney, New roof, Recess lighting in family room and living room, Tiled entry and porch, New Stucco finish, Exterior and some interior painting, Security camera installation, Garage ceiling structural reinforcements and replacing the old sewer line by a new one Hiring Process - We interviewed at least 6-8 contractors even before we started the design and permit process . By the time we had our final design and drawings, we had shortlisted three contractors. We met each of them again and asked for a detailed and final quote. One of the contractors didn't want to give us an exact bid unless we signed a contract with him. So we said good-bye to him. Then it was between Mark (from HCI) and the other guy who gave us a considerably lesser bid compared to Mark. However, we didn't want to decide purely on a lesser bid especially because my husband and I liked Mark very much during our initial talks and we believed that Mark will be a better person to handle our project. Also, I have a habit of checking contractor's license status and found out that the other guy did not have worker's compensation insurance at all. That made it easier for us to decide on HCI. I was highly impressed by HCI's response time during our communication. I have to mention Jackie who manages their office for her prompt and detailed responses. Actual Work - George (our foreman), J.D, Mario and Marco were a delight to work with. They were professional, polite, and passionate about their work. George did not mind talking to me again and again to explain certain concepts of construction. I have also noticed that Mark treats his employees very well ! Our construction began late October and this has to be the worst possible time to start a construction due to heavy rains and storms bay area faced this winter. But I was so glad to see the Hinkle crew working day in and day out irrespective of the weather. Also, whenever I pointed out certain errors or may be if I didn't like the way things turned out, Mark was patient enough to talk to me to either solve the problem or come up with an alternative solution. I cannot praise the entire Hinkle team for their response time (lightning speed)!!! When Things Go wrong - This is when you will know whether you have made the right decision about your contractor. I can recall two major instances. Half-way through our construction, a major storm hit us on a Saturday morning. Our roofing work was not done yet and HCI had put a tarp on the undone roof and a strong wind tore the tarp. Our undone roof got exposed to the rain. I texted Mark and George and within five minutes JD and Marco showed up to fix the tarp. The very next day (i.e. on a Sunday), another fierce storm and wind blew the tarp from our new addition. Our neighbor noticed and called HCI (later I found out that HCI talked to most of my next-door neighbors and requested them to call if they there were any issues; How thoughtful!). Again, Mark and team showed up to fix the tarp. We were not charged one extra penny for this. Another instance - Mark's roofing guys (Bill Hamilton Roofing) had major communication problem (According to Mark, this is the very first time he faced any issues with the roofers and I believe him since almost all of his specialty workers were really nice). Due to this, our roofing work was delayed for more than a month, Bill Hamilton did not deliver the right downspouts and to make things worse they charged an additional $$$$s than their original bid. Mark absorbed that additional cost himself!! Lessons learned - No matter who you hire or how great the contractor is, things won't be perfect. We need to remember that we are dealing with humans and construction is not an easy profession. In my opinion, if your contractor has met 85% of your final goal/expectations then your have a winner. In our case, I can say honestly say that we are quite happy! read more

Hinkle Construction was great to work with! A family business who works with you for a successful remodel. They've been in the business for decades & have very good reviews online. I planned a bathroom remodel, then Hinkle Construction refined it & suggested improvements, as well as local companies to purchase the bathtub, toilet, fixtures, custom wood cabinet, countertop, shower walls, etc. All recommended companies I dealt with were as outstanding as Hinkle Construction. As with many projects, as the bathroom was demo'd, water damage in exterior wall & cracked floor boards were found. Any additional work or deviations from the original agreement were first discussed, quoted & agreed upon before additional work commenced. Hinkle Construction did not stop halfway thru the project, rather they worked continuously thru to the end. Cleaning up at the end of each workday meant less mess & inconvenience for us. The resulting bathroom was better than planned & expected, Hinkle Construction making sure we were happy with the results before they consider the job done. I will definitely us them for future projects & have already recommended them to friends. read more

My wife and I purchased a house and the place needed a lot of work to get it the way we wanted it. We had no experience in remodeling and no clue as to what goes into a remodel. We were as green as you can be when it comes to remodeling. After a couple of contractors came out and saw the scope of work we wanted to do. We had to make the difficult decision of picking the right contractor. I had bombarded Mark with a ton of questions, ranging from color of the hardwood to the updated electrical panel. I would call him, email him, and ask him questions for 2 hours a couple times in person. He answered it all and wanted me to ask him more questions until I was satisfied. I really appreciate this process due to my lack of experience and it gave me a real sense of peace. We moved forward with Mark and it was the right decision. First off in the remodel process, we needed permits with the improvements and Mark took care of that process for us. It was hands off on our part and he just made it easy. He would meet with the inspectors and due to his quality of work, we always passed inspection the first time around. Thus saving us a lot of time. We remodeled our kitchen, living room, bedrooms, moved an electrical panel, and reconfigured our 2 bathrooms. It was a lot of work to be done, but Mark kept us on track in regards to picking out appliances, cabinets, and materials. He coached us through this very difficult time. Mark also made very good suggestions in tweaking our plans and we were glad we took them. He kept me up to date to the progress so I always knew what was going on. The communication from him is spot on and I never was in the dark. His crew were great guys, easily to talk to and they answered my questions as well. Mark's subcontractors were all professional individuals. They answered my specific questions and put in top notch work in their own field. As we got closer to the finishing date, our baby was born and even more things was on my plate. He took it in stride and sped up the process to make sure our family can live at our new place within a reasonable amount of time. He made sure all the little details were taken care of and that my mind was on my family instead of the remodel. This is where I was most impressed with him, that it is not always about business and he can help me shoulder some of the responsibilities in my life. I am an extremely detailed person and I like things to be almost perfect. After the initial job was done, Mark asked me to compile a list of items that I saw unfit. After about a week and a half I gave him the list and his guys were right back at the house making these corrections. The beauty of his work is in the details giving me a sense of calm and having the house exactly the way I wanted it. My wife and I were not only extremely impressed and joyous with the final product but also the process and I think that is the most important part of the remodel. Now our dreams have turned into reality thanks to Hinkle Construction. read more

We called Mark about three issues: a window with dry rot, a shower that stank, and a corner of the house that had subsided. He came and gave us a quote. I appreciated several things about his visit. One was that he was willing to consider fairly small jobs. Another was that he looked around and spotted other issues, and suggested fixing them as well. Third, he suggested trying simple solutions first, before going to more complex (and more expensive) solutions that other people had proposed. For example, others had proposed replacing the window, but he suggested trying to save it. Others had proposed retiling the entire shower, but he suggested just a regrout to see if the problem went away. We asked him to do the work, and were very happy with the results. He and his team made everything easy, and we would be very happy to use them again. read more

Mark and his team remodeled our very dated and poorly constructed master bathroom last summer. Jorge was the Project Lead and extremely thorough. Mark was readily available at any given moment, and we felt completely confident of Hinkle Construction throughout the lifecycle of our project. Not only are we extremely satisfied with our new master bath, we readily refer Hinkle Construction to anyone in need of a trustworthy, efficient, skilled and honest Contractor. I'd also like to add that the team was extremely sensitive and thoughtful to our dogs, who while contained in our backyard during construction, the crew had to pass by frequently and regularly. read more

While trying to put in a tile floor in my guest bathroom, I discovered wood rot and termites. Later, the termite inspector discovered the master bathroom was also badly water damaged and previous owners had done a poor job of fixing the problem or the damage. After speaking with half a dozen contractors, with one who wouldn't take the job due to it being too small, one not taking it because the job was too big, and one couldn't help me for at least another three months, I spoke with Jackie Hinkle. Within a few days, a crew was in my home, tearing out ruined floorboards and moldy sheetrock. When it became obvious that both bathrooms were going to have to be completely redone, Jackie took care of the details, such as a rental port-a-potty. Mark and his crew, including two other licensed contractors, helped me choose tile, cabinets, showers, fixtures, and the like. In less than three weeks, I had a repaired sub-floor, mold resistant sheetrock, and two completely new bathrooms. They even added insulation to the exterior walls and ceiling vents with ultra-quiet fans. When the damage turned out to be worse than any of us expected, Mark made sure I wasn't left hanging and brought in extra people to make sure the work was done as quickly as possible. For $30,000, I have tile floors, marble shower walls, top-of-the-line toilets, maple cabinets, and real granite counter tops in two separate bathrooms. The entire team paid attention to details, moving electrical outlets from poor locations, re-plumbing water pipes that were poorly placed, and giving me careful opinions of paint choices, grout colors, tile textures, and lighting fixtures. These guys saved me from a disaster and have made my bathrooms the nicest rooms in the house. I would recommend them to anyone who wants things done right. read more

We used Hinkle for a complete kitchen remodel of our small galley kitchen. The kitchen had the original cabinets from 1957! The entire project took roughly 6-8 weeks, which I've heard is great for this type of project. We had a few bumps in the road (which is to be expected) but Mark always dealt with them in a positive way and took ownership for anything his crew was responsible for. It was great working with him that way. Also, near the end, when stuff was kind of dragging, he quickly made a bunch of stuff happen so we could get our kitchen/house back and start living again. We are very happy with how our kitchen turned out! read more

We called Mark at Hinkle Construction to fix some foundation problems at the house we just purchased. We were really worried as "foundation problems" normally mean spending a lot of money, but Mark explained everything completely. He broke it down into what needs to get done, what should be done, and could be done. When he and his team were here, they were extremely professional. Arrived on time, and laid down ground cover all the way from the front door to the back room where the entry to the crawl space was. The attention to detail was especially appreciated before they left. They vacuumed everywhere they walked and even cleaned the walls and closet around the crawl space. I will definitely use them again whenever we need any construction done around the house, and recommend them to anyone looking for someone in the south bay! read more

This was my first experience with Hinkle-Construction and I am more than satisfied. Being a real estate broker I do business with a lot of contractors. I spoke with about 20 contractors while I was trying to decide who to hire for a home project. Hinkle-Construction was by far the best communicator of any company I spoke with. Every call and email I sent to the company was returned promptly with all of my questions answered. When I spoke with Mark he instantly understood what I was trying to do and gave me clear and accurate answers to all of my questions. The project was completed faster than promised, at the price quoted, and the workmanship was outstanding. The quality and appearance of the work far outpaced my expectations. Over the course of our project, I learned that Mark and his team can be counted on. I have a number of other large projects coming up and I am looking forward to having Hinkle-Construction come out and do them for me. read more

When we hired Mark Hinkle, we had no idea what we were in for. We are always skeptical of any new contractor we have never done business with. From the time we contacted Mark for an estimate to replace our patio door he had us select a door and immediately gave us a tentative estimate based upon the features of our old door. After our selection of a door, he gave us an estimate and we worked out a time frame for installation. From that point on everything worked out like a clock, all on time. Aside from the narrative above, we were impressed that he was so reliable and would always respond so quickly to answer any concerns. His team was always on time, didn't miss anything needed to be done and did an excellent job. To sum it up, our priorities when looking for a contractor is that they be Honest, Reliable, Reasonable, Pleasant to work with and do Quality work. In our minds, he has met the criteria. read more

Mark and his team completely remodeled our bathroom and did a fantastic job. Mark is very thorough and concientious and made sure that the work was done on time and on budget. His attention to detail is amazing...he noticed things that I would have never dreamed of and helped prevent me from making some bad decisions. His workers tried extra hard to work around my father who had just gotten home from a major operation. They were very respectful and did beautiful work. Hinkle is definitely not the cheapest company, but they really know what they're doing and are worth every penny. Mark finished our kitchen remodel with a small addition late last fall, and we have been enjoying our new, well-made kitchen very much! My husband and I liked him and his foreman right away as we sat down to talk specifics, and the plans were carried through almost without a hitch. Mark knows what he's doing and has hired a superb crew, most of whom have been with him for some years. I still miss them and their cheery faces. :) We used most of Mark's subs and all but the painter did a great job. (He has since changed painters, I believe, and the problem was only on the outside of the house--waiting for cooler weather to fix some spots. After being paid in full, Mark is still responsive to my email about that.) From start to finish Mark was ALWAYS on top of everything and never delayed our project for his convenience. He is honest, as is his crew, and was cognizant of our budget. The work is top-notch and Mark had no problem with my requests concerning more environmentally-friendly products, and the few subs that I asked to use. Yes, Jackie is also wonderful with the bookkeeping end of the company, and responded to any emails immediately as well. I would absolutely recommend Hinkle Construction for remodels, additions, etc.! We feel most fortunate to have had an excellent contractor for our project. read more

Hinkle Construction just completed a residential perimeter foundation repair project for me. The job was completed within the estimated time and passed City of San Jose building inspector the first time. Job was started within the allotted time specified in the contract (21 days). The job entailed replacing metal piers holding 6x4 girders that had rusted out causing floors to sag. With a city permit I had previously obtained myself in hand and blueprints that required replacing 32 separate piers in a crawl space of just a couple of feet it wasn't going to be an easy job. The plans were formulated and drawn by civil engineer Alan Huntzinger, ACH Engineering, Palo Alto. Of the three contractors I gave plans to only Hinkle Construction was found using yelp.com. About the job -- raising up sagging floors cause interior walls to crack near seams and corners. Mark was clear about this from the start. Parts of the sagging floor were holding up granite counters and backsplash work which was our biggest concern. Granite counters do not bend. Raising the section of floor under the counters was nerve racking. Owner Mark Hinkle stood by me as he oversaw the raising of the girders which was done carefully utilizing a crew of four men operating multiple jacksplaced along a girder and then raised in tandem. in addition to the changes required on the plan Hinkle Construction offered to improve upon the repair job by sistering end-to-end girders which I approved at additional cost from the original estimate. The original estimate was typed, detailed the cost of the job and compared to other bids I had far and away the best value. It was also delivered within the time frame promised. Pre-sales -- Before accepting the bid I asked for and received a list of references which I received over email promptly. I dialed all the numbers, found only one that was out of date and reached three of the contacts listed. One was a commercial property manager and two others had had home repairs done. All give positive responses. Post-project -- Mark asked how the project went and what he could do better next time customer wise. I will hire Hinkle Construction again for major home improvement projects. read more

We posted this review on 7/23/2008 and it's now missing on Yelp. 07/23/08: 'A True 5-star Company!' We only gave Hinkle Construction a 5-star rating because there wasn't anything higher! Everyone hears horror stories about remodeling contractors and construction companies, so we were thrilled and amazed to find Mark Hinkle and witness the quality and personalized service they provide. On the recommendation of a very selective friend, we used them and have since referred them on to our local friends and family who have been equally satisfied. Not only did they do an excellent initial remodel for us, they've been back several times for additional projects and maintenance work, always cheerfully and attentive. I have known Hinkle Construction for about 8 years. It is a company that has dedication to customer service, quality and workmanship. They show up on time, respect you and your place clean up after each job, use quality customer approved material, always on budget and on time. I have referred them to many of my clients and when I have called back to follow-up, they had nothing but excellent things to say about them. If you have any remodeling project don't use anyone off of teh yellow pages or the craigslist, use Hinkle Construction. You will be satisfied. Edward read more

I am a residential real estate agent and was introduced to Hinkle Construction some years ago by a colleague. Since that time I have had occasion to refer Mark and Travis to a number of my clients. They have remodeled bathrooms, kitchens, completed two major remodels and done routine household repairs. One of my clients did a complete home remodel from the East Coast, and commented that it was an excellent experience. Mark called him every day to review progress. Recently I had the experience of having Hinkle construction do some modifications to my laundry room and complete a home office. I found them to be completely reliable. They were on time, their workers were polite and careful to cover floors in order to prevent damage, they cleaned up each day and were a pleasure to have in our home. You could not find more reliable and nicer people. I will continue to recommend them to friends and clients. Thank you Mark and Travis! read more

Mark is a great guy and his guys do very good work. He helped us transform a bathroom from hell. Mark may not be the cheapest but you get what you pay for. If you are a person who likes the following: A contractor that actually calls you back and follows up; A Contractor that actually drives the project and ties up all loose ends; A Contractor that keeps you informed each step of the way; then Hinkle Construction is a great choice. read more

I've been meaning to write a review for a while. Since we bought our house a few months ago Mark and his crew have done a few projects for us of various sizes. First it was running/moving some gas lines, then foundation work and most recently a bathroom remodel. On each project Mark worked on for us he was extremely courteous and forthright as was his crew. The work has been top notch and what really earns Mark an "A+" is that he goes the extra mile with everything he touches. He does things the right way, the way that he'd want them done for himself even if it means extra work. We initial hired Mark because of his great Yelp reviews and everything has been as good for us as for the others. For first time home owners, Mark has been a real god send. In short - if you are looking for a dependable, qualified, courteous contractor Hinkle Construction is your answer. read more

We have been using Hinkle Construction for over 15 years from small projects to complete renovation. Hinkle Construction has remodelled almost every room in the house. Mark is a reliable and honest contractor, who thinks about what is best for his customers. Before we found Hinkle Construction we used a contractor (recommended by a friend) who began the work but then told us that he had a bigger job pending and needed to take care of it. We were put on the back burner for over 3 weeks. The first time we hired Mark, he assured us that he wasn't leaving until the project was complete. This has stayed true as Hinkle Construction grew. We also had Hinkle Construction do work for family members. When our grandparents were having difficulty selling their older home we called Hinkle Construction to help out. They made suggestions of minor changes to make the home more desirable. The house sold one month after Hinkle Construction completed the work. When we need any work done, the first thing we do is call Hinkle Construction!! read more

Mark and his crew are the best contractors we have had the pleasure of working with. After several large remodeling projects, including adding a second story and extensive kitchen redo, we hired Mark to completely remodel our three bathrooms down to the studs. Aside from doing excellent work, what stands out from our experience are two critical factors; one, Mark is an honest and excellent communicator. He answers his phone, responds in a timely manner, and has an unbelievably positive attitude and common sense solutions to the problems that inevitably arise. Second, his crew led by Jorge, are talented, efficient, and hard working. The only jobs subbed out for the remodel were the tile and paint and Mark's crew did everything else. That ability made the job come in on time and on budget, miracles in the remodel business. In addition, Mark recommended Jessica Sin, an architect and designer, who was a tremendous help in the layout design and selection of fixtures, tile, countertops and paint colors. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. We highly recommend them both! read more

My job didn't fit into his schedule but he did respond to my request.

These guys were amazing. Mark gave me great advice about my preexisting kitchen cabinets up front which saved us a lot of money. He was prompt and thorough with his estimates. His crew was talented, punctual and super nice. We had two bathrooms completely redone, new counters in the kitchen in addition to a new, custom island and bay window. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. We are delighted with the quality of the work, the conscientiousness of all of the subcontractors and crew and Marks energy insuring we were completely satisfied with the work! Special should out to Jorge, our amazing Foreman. He was in constant contact and did excellent work. Lester, the tile guy, was a perfectionist! read more
