The chicken was cut weird and fried so hard that I couldn't even bite it. Then it came with a bunch of raw vegetables. I had to pay extra for beef fried rice and it had a total of 4 pieces of beef in it. I also got fried chicken wings for my son who loves fried chicken wings. He wouldn't eat them. He said they tasted nasty. $25 wasted. We won't be back.

Sure, it's located in a strip mall, but the ambiance is actually a little better, in my opinion, than many others. I get the combination which includes an egg roll and it is a very good value. I usually get 3 meals out of it, so really, you can't beat that. I'm sure the other entrees are equally good and I am sure I will try some others soon. I will update when that happens. I always try to support local, family-owned businesses and not corporate giants which churn out factory food. I wish more people would do so as well.

About 25% of Kobe has been repurposed to serve Yi Ge customers while the majority of the restaurant is still dedicated to teppanyaki. Yi Ge's menu hasn't changed, so we tried duck egg rolls for an appetizer and I ordered the Hong Kong tofu, a favorite, for my entree. The duck egg rolls were actually spring rolls and didn't have any taste of duck to them. They also arrived at the table lukewarm. My Hong Kong tofu was just OK - the serving was not especially generous, it lacked flavor despite having two different types of chilis, and arrived at the table lukewarm. Past versions of this dish from Yi Ge have been extraordinary: flavorful, a bit spicy, perfectly cooked, and hot out of the wok. My dining companion received a massive serving of chow ho fun and thought that hers rated an OK too. Despite the Kobe section of the restaurant being very busy, service in the Yi Ge part of the restaurant was friendly and attentive. Prices for our entrees were definitely above average. This was just an OK, but Yi Ge is capable of better. Maybe they were having an off night?

Her attitude was extremely unprofessional, especially toward a family with kids. On top of that, they added an automatic tip to our bill without asking or getting my approval. We were just a husband, wife, and children, not a large party, so there was no reason to force a tip, especially given the rude service. Based on this experience, I do not plan to return and I would not recommend this place to families looking for respectful service.
