The place was beautifully decorated & classy. Yi Ge 一哥 is the best authentic Cantonese Chinese cuisine that I have ever found in North Carolina. We ordered a combo of toast duck, pork & BBQ Pork. We ordered the braised To Fu & a plate of water spinach. We also order a lb of braised chicken feet 鳯爪 to eat there (special order). Everything is super good. We didn't expect there's such a super high standard of Cantonese cuisine in this place. After we took a few bites, we decided to write a review for them. The pictures were taken after we had started eating. The portions are very reasonable. I was told that there were many more great dishes including Canton style Beef Chow Fun 乾炒牛河。 During weekends & Sundays, poached chicken, steamed fish, ask them for special menu. I purchased 6 pounds of prepared chicken feet to go that I can steam at home. If one is a big fan of authentic Chinese Cantonese cuisine, you will never be disappointed. Imperial Garden has long been my go-to place for Chinese food, but over my last few visits, I have noticed that the quality of the meat has gone down The restaurant layout is split into two rooms. The first room features booths and an elevated seating section, while the second room has tables for larger groups. The decor is simple and traditional. The service here is still very good. Although I haven't gotten my favorite waitress during my last few visits, she made a point to come over and talk to me this last time. She even remembered my exact order and that I like it prepared without onions, which I truly appreciated! Unfortunately, the beef itself seemed a little rubbery. A few of the pieces were completely fine, so I am not sure whether the meat was just overcooked or had sat under a heat lamp too long before being served. The fried rice seemed better than ever, though, as was the eggroll. I think I will need to start trying some new vegetarian or alternative dishes here on my next visits to avoid the meat, as I still really enjoy the local atmosphere and excellent service.

The food is ok for Chinese, but I felt a little screwed on the bill. I didn't notice until after I checked out they charged like twice as much per pound for to-go if you get any ribeye. I just got a couple of little pieces and filled up two boxes with food to go, but it didn't seem to matter and they weighed it all together. If you go and you want rib-eye, I suggest filling up a plate with other stuff and paying for that order. Then go back and get the steak and pay for that separately. read more
