She was super great about it and worked with me to find a color that was better suited. I've had my makeup done a lot and sometimes artists take it really personally when you say you don't like something. This was not the case at all. I also had photos done for something else and the photographer used Ryan as a makeup artist. Ryan was super friendly and easy to get along with. She also did an awesome job with my makeup. On the actual wedding day, Kathy was punctual and very patient with my bridesmaids. She had done my sister's makeup first and then redid it completely over when my sister got really emotional (happy tears!) and cried away all her makeup. I was so happy with my makeup. I used the airbrush which is amazing even though I was a little apprehensive about it at first. I didn't have the cakey look that so many brides have and the coloring was just amazing. Like today, when I literally couldn't stop gawking at how she took me from Zombie extra in a remake of Michael Jackson's Thriller to a pretty little PR princess! One thing I love about Marquia is her energy and enthusiasm. She is sweet and gracious, and really gets pumped about making her clients look their best. She is engaged and takes into consideration what you want, while transforming that look into something that works for your features. Her infectious smile keeps me calm and soothes me no matter how stressed I am about whatever event it is I'm going to. She is also extremely punctual, and always arrives early, ready to set up and then sit down with you first, before starting. She'll discuss everything from your skin type to how you react after makeup is applied - greasy quickly/break out/redness - and from there, she tailors her approach and what she uses to eliminate those issues and help you put your best face forward. If I could give her a sixth star, I would have, because she is absolutely the most talented makeup artist in the DMV. I've even proposed that she move in with me... I hope she says yes!

I knew I was late so I said, "please just give me a haircut" to respect my hairdressers time. When I went to pay, O'Hair Salon's Salon Manager made the decision to charge me the full amount of the foil I did not receive- I would. have been ok for a fee but $175 for being 30 minutes late .?? AND, in addition to paying around $230 4 times a year for seven years.... to do the math... This is spending over $10,000 over 7 years. To not cut me a break.... not cool and disrespectful, to me, as a patron. O'hair Salon needs to check themselves when it comes to this type of management judgement calls.

Karen convinced me to wax my upper lip and chin for the makeup and made me break out! I don't know why she went all way to my neck but it was the WORST wax of my life! She was pulling on my skin really hard as she was applying the wax. The wax was way too hot. The make up that she put on me was sooo heavy. I showed her my dress which was a light green and white. It was way to dark and the lashes were not placed well. It looked like it was coming off my eyelid. My hair didn't even stay curled for the short drive home. When I got home I had to recurl my hair and try to fix my makeup. She had an apprentice doing my daughters hair which she didn't mention until she had already started my daughters hair. Her hair is curly and I wanted simple curls. She put NO heat protection on her hair. She blow dried her dry hair briefly and sprayed her hair with hairspray as she curled her hair. The front of her hair was very frizzy and when I mentioned it she kept passing the curling iron on it. She left my daughters hair smelling burnt and frizzy. Her curls did not last either. It took days to get the smell of burnt out of her hair. I paid $350 for horrible service! I will never come back here again or recommend anyone come here! I am not a difficult client to please. I am NOT a customer that is never satisfied. I have had my makeup and hair done other places without issue. To brush me off and say I am just never satisfied is not taking ACCOUNTABILITY for your POOR work!! Please look elsewhere ladies!!

Time is money and it should not be wasted...but to pay in full for a beauty service before the service has been completed is quite a turn off. The cost is no issue, I have just never heard of paying in full before a hair appointment or beauty appointment in general. My mom has been in the cosmetology industry for over 30 years and was also shocked that it wasn't just a down payment.
