Her work was our first choice and our initial online contact was the more informative and detail-oriented than the other henna artists I contacted. Unfortunately, Covid changed our plans as I was about to contract with her. When it came time to schedule again, I decided to review several artists again - just because that is who I am. Since we are not Indian, but the groom is, we consulted his mother for recommendations. Independently, the mother of the groom asked around and her friends thought Shazia's work was first rate too. Unfortunately, it looked like there might be a conflict with the day that the bride preferred to have her henna done, but Shazia made it work. Shazia put in a 12 hour day to fit us in - and her work did not suffer for it. She arrived with everything including her own table and chairs that she wiped down in between clients. When she came back to do the bridesmaids' hands, she took extra time to help the non-Indians. She was so kind and friendly that she even helped them learn to fold a duppata properly for the evening's festivities. I only am pointing out that it was a mix of Indian and non-Indian guests to stress that everyone was pleased with her talent, and kindness. I highly recommend Shazia. We have not gotten the professional photos yet. So, I cannot post a photo, but the ones on her website do reflect her talent.

We talked over what I wanted to include, what kind of shapes and florals I liked, and she listened and accommodated my requests even if some of my requests were outside her comfort zone. I told her my husband and I love national parks and that he had proposed to me at Acadia National Park in Maine. Affordable memberships considering the area. I have friends who have been members for years and still enjoy it. The golf course is really solid. They have a great mixture of holes. A couple of drivable par 4s and all the par 5s are reachable from certain tees. Two tough par 3s on the back that can make or break a round. Green surrounds are tough if you're in the wrong spot. The greens themselves are always in fantastic shape. They are severely sloped at times, so you must be accurate with your approach shots. I couldn't find the golf course architect on their website, but they did a good job considering the hilly topography and small footprint of the property. But I can also see one hitting pretty much the exact same shots every time no matter what tee box you're playing. Favorite hole: Par 5 12th, except for the yellow range balls that litter the left side. Downhill the entire way. Range on the left, trees and then the 18th hole on the right. Reachable for many with usually a blind-ish to a peninsula green with water right and long. The very tall red stake frames the front right of the green. Very cool hole before the brutally tough par 3 13th. The driving range is good and they have really nice Titleist practice balls to hit. The short game area is outstanding. I could spend hours out there with a few wedges. They have two small-ish putting greens on either side of the clubhouse. The restaurant is a great space and they have an area for bigger events. The food and service are both good too. Sadly, I have not enjoyed the pool area. Just a solid club overall. The members I have interacted with have all been great. I have had and heard somewhat mixed interactions with the people that run the place, but nothing bad enough to write about here.
