She is so personable and makes it an all around fun experience -- by the end of it I felt like I was chatting up a friend! She happened to know the second artist I hired and they were absolutely elated to see her, which goes to show she has a highly connected community. I did end up having a pretty severe allergic reaction but my mother did not so it was likely a personal issue. I went to a dermatologist, as I do have extremely sensitive skin, so that is something to consider if you are in the same boat. Perhaps, set up a patch test WELL in advance (my reaction was delayed by approximately 2 weeks -- but like I said, my mother was completely fine and I confirmed it was natural products in the henna). That aside, I stained amazingly well and it stayed for well over a week to a week and a half (I work in a hospital, so I wash my hands a lot)! I received SO many compliments. Prices are competitive, if not slightly more affordable than others in NoVA with similar expertise. I definitely recommend Sitarah for weddings, showers, parties, or whatever your event may be!

My eyebrows grow out a little unevenly so I'm always a little uneasy going into a new place, but I had the best experience ever. My eyebrows are very evenly threaded and she allowed space for me to fill it in where I have hair lacking. She really listened to me and kept my eyebrows the same thickness and same general shape, just did a really great job cleaning it up and evening them out! The artist, Sireesha, spent the day of the appointment trying to contact me multiple times because she did not know what time my appointment was. She kept pushing the time back - even to 2 hours late. She did not have the design I discussed with Murshida in detail, but sent me her Instagram profile hours before the appointment to pick a design, which is unacceptable. Then when I wanted to cancel, she started calling me repeatedly, then told me she was going to come to my home anyway, which is f*ing outrageous. She even started arguing with me about what Murshida said to her. There were clearly a lot of mixed messaging and whatever misunderstandings between the two. The cost for this service is expensive as it is. I would not pay the price quoted when the employees are disorganized, hours late to appointments, cannot provide designs as agreed, and cannot meet the clients scheduling needs. They both missed the fact that this service was extremely important to me and because of their immaturity and poor service, I was not able to show this at my engagement party. Because of this, I cancelled the second reservation. Murshida apologized but it was too late.

She told me that she would TRY to see if she could modify and resend. Several hours went by. She sent me a text msg stating that she couldn't modify and that she was sorry this did not work out. I am thinking, "wait what?" I was simply just trying to protect us both. But before you just all together back out, let's agree to both sign an amended printout instead. She never replied. I emailed, text and called her to tr to reconcile the fact that I had lost a huge portion of my entertainment for a party that was to take place in less than 12 hours. Still dead silence. She did not even have he decency to apologize. I told her that I would write this review and unfortunately express my displeasure in hopes to prevent this from happening to someone else. As a last, desperate resort, I put an ad out on Thumbtack. I got a response in about 2 hours. Henna by Abeer, is the way to go. Professional, quality and prompt for the right price.
