I have wanted this tattoo for nearly 20 years and just never did it. At 58 years young and after experiencing some major life upheaval and realizing myself and my family had been through so much I decided it was time to do the things I wanted. After all life is short. The original dragon fly was done in Florida and while I love it, and had my vision, when I got home I decided I wanted al little more. That's where Tressa came in and made my vision come to love. She was so friendly, kind and I was relaxed, at ease and enjoyed the experience with her. I have already planned my next one! I should also add that after I had my original done my husband asked me to design a family tattoo for him, together we came up with his and I will add the photo below. Nicole was his artist and she incorporated the butterfly from mine into his. before my husband left she had our full story and shared some of her own. What makes it all interesting is there are tons of things in common and he left feeling great. Almost like getting therapy while being inked. My next one will match his with different colors. Maybe not on my back. He said the numbing cream was well worth it! He will submit another review but I can't help but share his as well!!! If you want a tattoo but have been putting it off go see that ladies! You will love them! read more

I looked them up really quickly because one of my piercings end cap on the barbell fell off so I had to find someone quickly. The piercings I have are still healing and I couldn't wait. I drive over 20 minutes since they were the first ones that answered. The studio is located in a multi business strip mall with great amount of parking available. I would definitely give them a call to see if you can walk in because I knocked on the door and nobody answered so I waited in my car. She or whomever is working in the shop will answer or at least you can text them if they are busy which is what I did. I was finally able to be seen when she advised me she was in the studio but did not hear me knock. Because I only needed an end cap for a piercing. She placed the new end cap and I just paid for the barbell. I do know so glad I got them done in another state because her in Maryland just paying for one piece of jewelry costs about the same price as the piercings. If I'm in the area I would stop by especially since I was able to just walk in without an appointment. read more

I had to come to a different shop because of the discomfort and the fact that my nose was swallowing the piercing. Here's a picture to show you. I was told Melissa, the piercer at Pretty In Ink, put a post that was too short in my nose. Also she pierced me so far back I had to get repierced yesterday and pay an additional fee for it because once it heals I wouldn't be able to switch to a hoop. I told her upfront I wanted to switch to a hoop eventually and showed her the jewelry I purchased and told her the size. She still did not take any of that into consideration when I relied on her expertise as a piercer. I am disappointed and frustrated and out of another $80+ because of my experience with Pretty In Ink. I tried to reach out to them for resolution but I was was ignored and did not receive a response. read more

10/10/10. From booking, to customer service, to follow-ups and of course their body of work. I will forever opt to get tats and piercings here. Nicole was a vibe. She remembered the intention of my personal tattoo and she nailed it. So down to earth, and she made me feel so calm, I dosed off a couple times under the needle. I can't wait to work with her again for my next tattoo. read more

My best friend and I decided at our big ages to get our noses pierced. The booking process was simple. We arrived, picked our jewelry and sat down. I wish could remember our piercers name, I want to say Lisa but I'm unsure. She moved quickly- of course there's some pain, but it wasn't unbearable and she moved gently! read more

TERRIBLE TATTOO, TERRIBLE COVER UP. It's not much but its something. 3rd time getting this worked on, 2nd time covering it & touching it up. Soldier looks wonky but it is legible. Before it was spelled wrong & faded, 2nd time touching it up & covering up the mispelling still faded & jacked up looking. Final tattoo done By Jackie the owner of Pretty in Ink. Original tattoo done By Rosa the first time & second time. Also Rosa told me she was the only one who could fix it but apparently that was a lie so then I went in a 3rd time for Jackie to do it. Obviously very unhappy but she wouldn't do anything else for me. Also this is not how I asked her to fix it, but she said any other way. She would charge me more, and I was already charged $700 for this plus $140 tip I had left before realizing the mistakes. Very disappointed cause the font is completely different than what I wanted, letters look wonky, & this is a PTSD tattoo for me so now I have PTSD from my tattoo. Probably will get it removed once I have the money because I will never get a refund. read more

I have been social media stalking Pretty In Ink for at least a year. I've been wanting to get my nose pierced since my birthday in April of 2020. As we all know, we were in shutdown around that time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, do getting my piercing done at that time wasn't happening. Eventually, the thought of getting it done went to the back of my mind. Fast forward to about a year ago when I came across Pretty In Ink on social media. From looking at their page and seeing that it's a woman-owned business, I knew I wanted to visit the shop one day. I would like to get a tattoo one day, but let's take baby steps here. After a rocky start to 2023, I finally found the time to schedule my appointment. Semaj is the artist who does the piercings. The online booking process was pretty easy. They require you to pay a deposit when booking. Prior to your appointment, you'll receive a waiver form to complete before you arrive. Once I arrived, I was ready to go. I was nervous but Semaj assured me that I would be fine. And guess what? I was! The process was pretty quick, and it honestly didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. Afterwards, I received tips on how to care for my piercing as it heals. I checked out by paying the rest of my balance and I was out the door. I was probably in and out in less than 15 minutes. I look forward to returning to get a tattoo. I'm getting ready to relocate soon, but I plan on returning to make visits to the area. read more

i originally planned to get a piercing here and paid the deposit. Now in no way am I expecting them to accommodate that I had an earlier availability. But when i realized I could move up the appointment getting in contact with this studio was atrocious. I called two separate times, texted. Just nothing or no acknowledgment of receipt. Deposit is non refundable so I will simply bite the bullet and lose that money as the whole vibe of the shop is off putting due to lack of communication. Truly wish the best and from reviews and pictures they do quality work, just a shame communication isn't up to that. read more

This shop is not just your ordinary tattoo shop, this has become my girls night hang out spot, to eat, laugh, watch movies, chat it up all while getting inked. The creativity here is impeccable and who wouldn't want to be surrounded by an all female glam squad. Typical tattoo shops are hardcore, not warm not comfortable while here they aim to make the client comfy. I've had everything from my breasts, spine to legs done here and they were always respectful and considerate from covering me up to using pillows and adjustable chairs to prop whatever was being tattooed up while ensuring I was comfy. Jackie the owner is a sweetheart and has even stayed sometimes to keep myself and Tressa company while I've gotten tattooed. They have monthly specials and I especially like that there are certain times of the year where they award a winner a mastectomy scar cover up. Pain used to be a badge of honor with tattoos but no more. They offer medical grade numbing cream as an add on to any service. I keep saying I'm done but the atmosphere and creativity keep making me come back for more ink. read more

Worked with Jackie to celebrate a life event by adding cherry blossoms and a new word around/under my existing tattoo. Loved working with her - she was meticulous, encouraging about if I wanted changes, and really took her time. Also - purchased the numbing cream **WORTH EVERY PENNY**. Truly a great experience and can't recommend more highly. Thanks Jackie! (P.S. Loved meeting Melissa too - she does piercings - the whole shop is just a well oiled very comfortable machine!!) read more

I wanted my piercing changed and was looking for a shop that was closer to me than where I was pierced. I chose this business because they were close to me and a woman owned business. Their IG and website were very clear and I loved the info I got on there. I'm an introvert and hate calling places so I used their texting option. They responded fast and were very informative. The shop is so pretty...and they were very welcoming when I arrived. (I hate that I didn't get any photos.) I was a little nervous so I can't remember the young lady that was helping me, but she was great. She was patient and explained things to me about my piercing all while working fast and professionally. Also, they're cleanliness is top notch. I am beyond impressed with this business and would definitely recommend them for your piercing or tattoo adventures!! read more

This is my second time getting a tattoo from Jackie. The shop is beautiful. The minute you walk in you feel a calming female energy. Jackie is so crazy talented. For both of my tattoos I had this idea to take famous Mother and son paintings and change them to look like me and my children. She worked with me to get the designs right and they came out beautiful. Jackie is also kind which made the tattoo experience even better read more

I finally got the courage to get my first tattoo. My moms signature on my wrist. After submitting my request online I received a message from Nicole. She asked me a few questions and a photo of my mom's signature. And she sent me a sketch of the tattoo. After a few tweaks it was perfect! I did opt for the after care kit and numb cream( I'm a proud punk). I walked in the shop and was treated with warm welcome and complements. I knew I picked the right place for my first tattoo. The vibe in the shop was great. I brought two friends with me to hold my hand. They loved the shop also and are planning their next tattoo. I need a whole separate paragraph about Nicole. She is amazing. She was able to make great conversation with me and my friends I probably didn't need the numb cream. We talked about our love for plants and the color purple. She did a amazing job on my tattoo. I love my tattoo. Thank you Nicole read more

The artists at Pretty in Ink NEVER disappoint! Since my first review, I've gotten TWO more tattoos by two different artists at Pretty in Ink. Nicole did the blue mandala and it is gorgeous. She is super professional, friendly, and a perfectionist. She made sure the lines and color were perfect! They always have different specials that you need to hurry up and sign up for and this time I should be fned up for their Valentine's Fay special. My husband and I got these adorable male and female lions fine by Tae. They turned great. This was my husband's first tattoo and Tae made him feel completely calm. She is also super sweet and did an excellent job with those tiny lines and details!! Of course my husband is already talking about getting another one! read more

Tae did an okay job. I provided the picture, she missed most of the detail and the tattoo was a lot smaller than the picture and dimensions we agreed to. I've been following Pretty In Ink Tattoo studio for about two years now on Instagram and eyeing the incredible work of all the tattoo artists that work there . I waited 25 years to cover spinal fusion scar and searched the entire DMV for a tattoo artist who I could trust to not only cover the scar but design something that is tasteful and I could be proud of. I am so thankful that I found Jackie. She was soooooo patient with me (didn't have a clue to what I wanted) and communicated with me via email throughout the entire design and sketch. When I arrived to my appt. my anxiety was through the roof-not knowing if I could endure the pain, but Jackie was so funny and easy to talk to that I sort of forgot about what I was about to experience. After she started I quickly realized that my pain tolerance was not as high as I thought‍. Long story short...the numbing cream aka "creamy crack" is everything-I did not feel anything..of course Jackie talked me thorough everything she was doing and before I knew it-she was done! All I can say is that if you are looking for an artist who truly love her craft-seek her out, I promise, you won't regret it! Oops...forgot to mention the shop's decor-Love it! read more

I'm not sure if I come here for the caliber of work or just for the vibe. It's the chicken or the egg theory really but all I know is I will keep coming back for all my ink. The staff is so warm and welcoming, very real. It feels like you are walking in your best friend's basement to pregame before a night out on the town. You get in the tattoo chair and share your life story, get a few affirmations from newly dubbed Pretty In Ink bffs and next thing you know you stand up to find a gorgeous and perfectly detailed tattoo on your place of choice. I had an amazing experience at Pretty in Ink. Jackie helped me with my design via the online consultation process. Prior to my appointment a sketch was sent to me my email for my review and approval. The location was easy to find considering you receive a reminder email a few days before your appointment with directions and instructions. When I walked in I immediately felt relaxed and welcome. Jackie had soft music playing in the background and greeted me by name. She offered water and complimentary healthy snacks. The shop is adorned in pink with pops of bling. Perfect for any girly girl. However, not over the top for potential male clients. I completed my paperwork upon arrival and we began to start. I've had several tattoos by different artists but this was my favorite experience by far. Although I feel I have decent threshold for pain I feel her hands we very gentle while tattooing. She asked my comfort level and allowed me to stretch and take breaks as needs. My appointment started right on time and finished close to the 3 hour window quoted. During the process Jackie talked to me and was very professional, motivating, and uplifting. I had a cover up tattoo done. She took a prior tattoo I absolutely hated and turned it into something I love. She will have a forever client with me. You get what you pay for.
