Matt is a highly skilled artist and also a super pleasant and funny guy. He is seriously talented and puts his unique spin on every design. If you want to visit the shop and initiate a business relationship of any kind, I would strongly recommend calling ahead and ensuring Jennifer is not working that particular day. Her customer service and general demeanor can be described as ranging from gleefully condescending to blatantly toxic and hostile for no particular reason at all. If you were raised by narcissistic parents in a generally abusive household and are used to being treated this way AND you really want to pay someone to treat you this way, I totally recommend. Matt has been doing my ink for 18 years, but it only took one year of Jennifer in his business to ruin it- and I largely regret returning after the first time I met her. Within a mile, there are two other shops with four other artists that are incredibly talented, kind, and generally a joy to interact with... If you want custom ink designed by a very talented artist because you are not an artist yourself but you have ideas, Bully Ink is the place to go. Only draw back, she is such a fantastic artist, you will have to schedule pretty far out to get ink done- but totally worth the wait. A little further down the road from One Shot is Ravenwood Tattoos- three artists with different strengths depending on what kind of ink you want done. They do custom ink, off the wall, and your own work. The guys are awesome with no toxic gate keepers at the door- totally recommend. All in all, I would recommend skipping One Shot and the associated weirdness and visit some of the other local artists in Edgewater- I wish I would have years ago. read more

First time here. My friend had never had her ears pierced and was really nervous. Spanky was really straightforward with her and got it done quickly. I got a bunch of work done by Matt N. (MGN) including the back of my neck, behind my ear, and a quarter sleeve. I'm happy with pretty much all of it. I gave him a design for my sleeve which I wanted to copy basically, but he didn't really pay attention to it, and just made his own rose pattern for me. Which came out nice, I get a lot of compliments, but years later I wish I wouldn't have gone with it. In the future I want to get it updated with more depth, colors and add more flowers. I'm not the biggest fan of traditional tatts and this is what it looks like. The other Matt did lyrics on my back. They look good except for one letter which confuses people sometimes as you can't read "tune" very well. Meh. I will probably get something done to it one day. The shop owner Eric is an amazing artist specializing in "traditional" style tattoos. If that's your thing, definitely check him out. He's done a lot of work on people I know which all looks great. read more

I love this place. I got my belly piercing 2 time before"wasn't from this place", it was hurt while I get it done"I even cry".. And than in year or two my body start reject it.. So I went in for a re-piercing of my tragus which I thought had closed up. I was delighted to find out that it had not closed and just needed the loop put back in.
