I came in for a double helix piercing which is more complicated than I thought. How hard can it be to punch two holes in my ear? Thankfully I had Scott as my piercer who explained that aligning two piercings facing the same direction on my 3D potato-chip surface of an ear takes real skill, care, and consideration. Thankfully Scott had all of these, and I'm really grateful to have stumbled upon this shop. Scott was exceptional in explaining the whole process and prepared me well for the big ouch and the aftercare. I really worried about the healing process because of various reddit posters, however the magic spray (hypochlorous acid + saline) he sent me home with has made the recovery a breeze. I've had the piercing for a week, and I forgot it was there after the first 36 hours. No inflammation or any signs of irritation. I'm only going to Scott for any future work. The only con of coming to Scott is that you'll want more piercings because he does such a good job and made the recovery so easy. He's also a cool and courteous dude. 10/10 read more

Went in last Wednesday to get my left nostril pierced. The piercers were booked up for the day so I was scheduled for the next day. I was scheduled with Scott and he was wonderful! I expressed my concerns and told him how another shop in Glen Burnie was not able to get the jewelry in my nose. He explained his entire process and walked me through the piercing step by step. He let me choose which jewelry piece I wanted and placed it in a machine to sterilize it. The girl at the front desk was also very nice and helpful! I will definitely be back at this shop! read more

Let me first start my saying that this was by far the best tattoo experience I've ever had!!! I came in for a BARCS fundraising event and submitted my pet portrait prior to the day of the actual event. After being chosen I was contacted by Matt, one of the receptionists, where I was given more info about the process and told about the deposit and available time slots. At the time I was working and couldn't stay on the phone to process my card. Matt was very polite and understanding. I called back later when I was available and spoke to Jody. She gave me the same info, answered a few questions and took my deposit. I didn't receive a confirmation email but was given a confirmation code for payment received. (I prefer emails bc I can be a bit unorganized) The day of the event/scheduled tattoo time I arrived exactly on time. Signed a waver, gave my ID and was taken to the extension of the shop a few doors down. There I met Jeffy who was very polite and welcoming. He introduced himself, showed his stencil that was created for my micro portrait and I burst into tears. The stencil was simplest meant so much because my dog "Bali" passed away early last year. Jeffy was extremely understanding and comforting while I got my emotions together. Jeffy perfectly placed the stencil perfectly the first time. I went down the hall to double check the placement in a large mirror then he got to work. After a few minutes he checked in on how I was feeling. I explained that I was surprised that it hurt as much as it did compared to my other tattoos, in a joking manner. Jeffy assured me that because of the placement and that it was single needle that the outline especially would be pretty painful. He assured me that he would finish the outline and apply topical spray that he would allow to sit for a few minutes and it would help a bit with the pain. He did exactly that and the tattoo was almost painless until the last 10 min. The portrait come out so beautifully and detailed especially for the size. This all after I called maybe 2 hours before my appointment to have the portrait sized smaller (Jeffy def resized it but stated that he didn't want it make it any smaller at the risk it might look "cartoonish". Something I'm so glad he avoided) After the work was done I got a look at the finished portrait and again burst into tears. I was in love with all of the small details that makes the portrait so realistic. As he was applying the aftercare cover he was explaining aftercare for the next few days and made sure that I understood not to use heavy products such as Aquaphor(my go to, exactly what I planned to use) as the thickness and heavy moisture would especially ruin the tattoo. We walked back next door and I paid then tipped Jeffy. He was very thankful and donated all of the money to the fundraising event. Overall the best experience I've ever had. Jeffy is an amazingly talented artist. That is kind and sincere. He pays such close attention to detail and was so respectful and easy to talk to or ask questions throughout the entire process. Got tatted by Jeffy about a year ago, but now getting around to writing this review - better late than never! I had a general idea of what I wanted, but I always like to give the artist free creative reign when it comes to additions such as flowers, backgrounds, etc. Upon seeing the outline, I was blown away by how gorgeous it was and perfectly sized for my skinny arms. I have never been more pleased with a service business as I am with Lucky Bird Tattoo. They will accommodate to even the most skittish people and make sure they're 100% comfortable. I would know because I am terrified of needles and am prone to pass out. I called the week before and they answered all my questions. Coming in, the walls were bright blue and everything looked very clean. Nick, my piercer, sterilized everything before I even walked into where I was going to get pierced. For people prone to passing out, I was given a glucose tablet and water to help. Nick was very considerate and patient with me as he talked through the whole process and made sure I was comfortable. This review is for a helix and a lobe piercing by Scott. I was a walk in, 30-40 min wait (no biggie). The guy at the front desk was extremely friendly. Scott was super nice and helped me pick out the location and jewelry (ring versus post) to pierce with. He let my friend go back with me (she got a septum piercing after). Let her record it and was really good at making sure you felt comfortable. Both piercings look great, I'll add photos later. He gave us a run down on care, did not try to salesman you into buying anything extra, and was really honest and informative. I'd highly recommend going to him. Absolutely pitiful service. We paid $1300 in confidence that our artist took the time to help us come up with an original piece. Come to find out they just grabbed a picture from Pinterest and slapped it on our arm.... I would give 10 stars out of 5 if I could! I'm so glad I found this place on yelp! The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their services. I went to get my nipples pierced. This is my second time. My first time was with another piercer, at another business. My nipples never healed properly after a year+. I eventually just took the piercings out and allowed them to heal. I was always afraid to get them done again because I remember how painful the process is. My piecer was Nick. He answered all of my questions prior to getting pierced. During the process he walked me through each step and gave me a break between each step. He didn't rush me or anything. To be honest, this time around was a lot less painful than my last piercer. Afterwards, he gave me time to relax and gave me thorough instructions to care for my piercings. They are also very affordable and have reasonable prices. Had my appointment with Walt and this was my first tattoo. The place was clean and they were following all safety precautions due to COVID (only those with appointments allowed in, everything left in plastic til right before use, etc). But really this review is about Walt, he was amazing. He talked to me before we even started so I was relaxed and comfortable. Worked with me as we got the perfect position of the tattoo. Then talked to me throughout the tattoo so I was still calm. I had original art that a friend had made and he did an amazing job translating it into something perfect for skin and ink! His technique is great and I'm so pleased with the end result. I never really write reviews but I had such a great experience here last week, I just had to! Nick gave me my first piercing in a long time and I was a bit nervous. He gave incredibly clear explanations of what he was doing and why, and emphasized that I could tell him if anything was uncomfortable. He also went into a lot of detail about aftercare and clearly cared about the piercing healing correctly. Given the intimate nature of the piercing, he was really professional and made me feel really comfortable and respected. One thing I especially appreciated was how he always told me when he was about to touch me, and explained what he was going to do. If you're nervous about a piercing, I can't recommend Nick enough! The place as a whole was clean, welcoming, and definitely taking appropriate precautions for the pandemic. I will be coming back for sure!! read more

I first have to say that I would give 10/5 stars if they let me. This place is ALWAYS clean, organized and extremely professional, they clearly follow all of the COVID guidelines and do their best to be safe and take care of both their employees and customers. I have been to this place for piercings twice and had Nick both times, the first was for my second holes on my ear lobes, the second I got my nipples pierced. Both times Nick was very professional and put me at ease (as getting a new piercing can make anyone nervous). He was very informed about the piercing service he was providing and extremely meticulous about explaining aftercare. He even provided me contact information in the case that my body reacted poorly. Bottom line: I have quite a few piercings (not all done here) and after having been to Lucky Bird, these people are the only people I trust to pierce me. I had to ask him to fix it probably five times and I got a tattoo next to another he did not do the spacing matching with the other one at all. I took my 15 year old daughter here today to get her nostril pierced. We were told by the guy at the front desk that due to Maryland state law, they couldn't pierce anyone under 16...even with a parent's permission. I had never heard of this law but whatever. We left. I got home later that evening and tried to find this law on the internet. It doesn't exist. I called a different shop and they said no law existed and they would do it as long as I was there to give consent. I called Lady Bird back to ask about that state law. The piercer I spoke to said he thinks there is a law but didn't really know what the laws are. He said it was more of a shop policy because of the things they have in the shop. He said minors shouldn't be in there. What!? Thanks for feeding me a line of bull to get me out the door. If it's your shop policy to not allow minors in your shop, just say so. No need to make up some crap about state laws that don't exist. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I had an amazing experience with Jeffy and Tyler. In originally sought a consult with Jeffy who referred me to Tyler based on my request. I am reworking a bunch of old tattoos to make one cohesive piece. Tyler is doing this for me and accepted the job willingly and with grace. He spent time on our first appointment sketching on my leg piece. Then he worked on outlines for an 3.5 hours. I'm now beside myself excited to see it come to fruition. After doing extensive research, I decided to reach out to Lucky Bird Tattoo for my next tattoo masterpiece. I called the shop and was greeted by such a friendly and nice employee, Jeff. I was really impressed by his friendliness and professionalism. Not sure about anyone else, but I'm use to calling/visiting tattoo shops and being rushed and dismissed with the quickness. Not at this award winning shop. They welcome you and your ideas with open arms. Don't come in here looking for a "look-book" because this is a custom tattoo shop. Jeff inquired about my next piece and asked me to email him some ideas on what I would like to have done. A few hours after he received the email, he called me back. I missed the initial call-back, so when I returned his call, I ended up speaking with Scott. The baton was passed to him and he checked out my email and suggested a couple of artists on staff that would be perfect for the job. All of the artists have their specialties and if they don't feel comfortable with doing a tattoo that you're requesting, they will suggest another artist more suitable to your needs. That's a class act in my opinion. I am very impressed at how unselfish the artists operate. They put the customers satisfactory needs above their own selfish monetary needs. He suggested that Shana would be perfect for what I was looking for. I made an appointment for a consultation with Shana. I showed up for the consultation and she picked my brain with ideas and thoughts on my vision. She suggested I send her an email with some photos of my thoughts. When I arrived for my actual appointment a week later, she showed me what she came up with and got right to work. It was absolutely beautiful! Shana did a phenomenal job with putting my vision on actual paper and since she's a perfectionist the time she spent working on my tat was well executed! I'm highly impressed with the job she's done with my tattoo thus far. I can only imagine when she's 100% complete how it will turn out. This tattoo shop is unlike any I've ever visited - it's very bright, inviting and modern. The tattoo rooms can all be converted into private rooms. Every staff member I encountered was really friendly and welcoming. I also appreciate that they have an actual front desk person that handles the meet and greet, Q&A, and payments. That way, the tattoo artists aren't pulled away for front desk work. They're so cool here and the receptionist, my girl, Emily, greeted me and offered me to either have a seat while I wait or come back and chill with the other staff that wasn't busy. I was treated like one of the family. When I came back to get my tattoo, she made sure to come in a few times to check on how my artwork was coming. Such an amazing person and a true people person! A $150 deposit is required to book a session, so come prepared - if you're really serious. (Cash or Credit) That deposit goes toward your actual tattoo. Lucky Bird charges $150 per hour for tattoos. They aren't nickeling and diming you because Shana didn't charge me for the outlay/outline of my tattoo. Check your calendar for dates because they have a no cancellation and no refund policy, so make sure the date you choose is the date you'll be available to get your tattoo. Be sure to note that Saturday's are their busy day, so book early. Since my tattoo will require a few more sessions before it's complete, I'm so glad I found a tattoo shop that has a staff that has patience and takes such pride in their craft. It's nothing like entering into a tattoo shop hearing the needles buzzing, the artists trash talking, music blasting and customers eager to get a tattoo or piercing. This will obviously be a multi- stage review process. I had taken my daughter to get a haircut at a certain child themed haircuttery and the woman that cut her hair had a really nice sleeve. So i asked her where she'd gone and she directed me to Lucky Bird, which I had never seen because it had no Yelp presence. I went online and was thoroughly impressed with the variety and talent of all the artists. Fast forward a few days and I was driving by, and decided to stop in. Go figure the artist (Flick) I was interested in was the guy that came out to see what I needed. So we chatted for a few minutes about what I was thinking and we talked scheduling, and as soon as I have my decision finalized, I'll schedule a consult and get on the calendar. Everyone I met there was really cool and friendly, so you'll feel at home for sure. While the place is a bit trashy outside (older strip mall), the inside is really nice, clean, well decorated and has a good number of private rooms. I got my septum pierced by Scott recently. Everything was clean and Scott made sure that I knew all I needed to know about aftercare and all that. It came with a free jewelry change later- which is nice as I don't think I could've swapped my nose ring out by myself. Scott is also the manager so if you plan on getting pierced you may want to set some extra time aside as he makes sure everyone is taken care of. Despite the busyness, he took his time with me when it was my turn, which I appreciate. My friend got a tattoo here and loves it. It's beautiful and she said the artist was very accommodating, though I don't know which artist was hers. I'd recommend lucky bird to anyone who wants quality tattoo or piercing work done. read more

I really like this shop. I've been here to see my tattoo artist several times. The shop is well run, clean, and full of talented artists. I've been here on a number of occasions and watch how they admire each others work when finished. My artist is Flick. I've been working with him since I moved to Maryland back in 2000. He specializes in portraits and Japanese traditional, but his work is phenominal and covers a range of styles. Of course I'm going to suggest going to Flick for your work, but I'd be comfortable going to any of these guys depending upon the style tattoo I wanted done. Flick has tattooed a tribal design on half my right arm and I have a half sleeve he helped assemble on the other arm. He took an old tattoo I got as a young fool at the age of 16 and built around it. I grant him total artistic freedom and have never been disappointed. He also tattooed my wife and daughter. Normally he fixes my daughter's tattoos after she goes somewhere for the cheap. Then she doesn't like it and has to bring it to Flick for repair. I can honestly highly suggest going to this shop for your tattoo. As mentioned above, my tattoo artist is Flick and I have been pleased with all my tattoos, but the other artist do good work as well. read more
